Deborah was wonderful with our puppy, Argos. We wanted to start training soon after we got him and…read moreshe was able to schedule us quickly! Argos loved working with her and learned very quickly. We appreciated that she came to our home, so that Argos could train in his normal environment before heading to new places and meeting new puppies. Definitely would recommend to anyone with a dog and if we need any training in the future we will definitely give her a call again.

I've only had a few training…read moresessions with her due to my crazy schedule, but those few sessions have been extremely helpful. Plus my puppy absolutely adored her! I enjoyed her positive approach and how she was super knowledgeable. You can just tell she really loves her job and cares about helping people. I had previously been having issues getting my puppy into obedience classes and was actually asked to leave a group class once because my puppy was too aggressive with others. Deborah taught me the skills to get on my dog's level and find a way to help her be more behaved and overall strengthen our relationship. We worked on many things, everything from jumping, to sitting and waiting for food, and she even helped me take my dog on a walk to work on leash pulling. One of the best parts about Patient Pawz I feel is that Deborah not only lives up to the name by being patient with puppies, she is also extremely patient with owners and really does work to find a time that fits with your schedule as well.

All the current active staff working at this specific location have demonstrated & proven how extremely capable & exhaustively knowledgeable as trainers, dog behavior specialists, groomers, etc. They have exceedingly created a trustworthy controlled environment setting that makes me reassuringly safe to entrust the safety & wellbeing of my 4-legged son. They have gone above & beyond for my puppy & I could not praise/thank them enough for their time, energy & effort to nurture my puppy's confidence & needs. Including assessing & addressing his trauma triggers being bullied as the "runt" of his litter, that occurred prior to his rescue. I am thoroughly enthralled with their most adorable & transparently informative daily report cards that are released after their daycare reservation. Highly recommend to anyone wanting to cultivate & nurture their doggo-puppers development & overall wellbeing (with a heaping side of well deserved spoiled treatment)! Will definitely be a continuing member, as long as they will have Beemo & I, after we officially move to the PNW.

WOW! What a difference three weeks with Taylor and board & train at A Dogs Best Friend can make…read more Holy smokes. We are so happy and very proud of our dog's progress and have so much to thank Taylor for. Folks send their dogs to board and train programs for many reasons. For us, we wanted support honing previously learned skills, learning recall, and curbing a few unwanted behaviors such as excitedly lunging and jumping at people, fence fighting, and barking. We were nervous about so many things. What would we do without our boy for three weeks? Would his sweet and playful personality be the same when he returned? Could we stick to it and reinforce his learning at the end of it all? The three weeks away were tough. But we timed it with a family vacation which helped a lot. As for the dog we picked up at the end; Ozzie is the exact same amazingly sweet and playful dog. But he is so much more confident, calm, and responsive. He honestly seems like a much happier dog. Almost like he feels and shares the pride we have in him. And with the tools and confidence it has given us, we can now give him the fulfilling life he deserves. THANK YOU, TAYLOR! We look forward to continuing this journey with you.

I am a disabled combat veteran, but do not qualify for a 'service animal' from non-profits because I do not have the 'correct' diagnosis, even though I suffer from the same exact symptoms as those with PTSD. My wife's mother, who lives in Europe, recently had a stroke and my wife has been by her side since early August. If I hope to see my wife at all over the next several years, because of her and my commitment to ensure that her mother gets the care and attention she deserves, we needed to be much closer than the Pacific NW, hence our uprooting. In order to have Kemper fly with me in the cabin on a grueling 10-hour trans-Atlantic flight, he needed some several skills which he was lacking when we adopted him from the West Columbia Gorge Humane Society after six years of being abandoned and abused, for no reason, by one owner after another. Even with his unjust and unconscionable treatment early in life, he is one of the sweetest and dogs I have ever known. Julie and Kemper quickly developed a strong bond and she was willing to work with me one-on-one, tailoring a training plan for both of us to get us where we need to be with just two months before boarding the plane. Having a Master's in Psychology, I am an expert in operant and classical conditioning, but lacked the understanding of how dogs think, so Julie was training both of us along the way. Kemper picked-up on things quickly and me, not so much, but we were compelled to get the job done and succeed in our mission, no room for error. Paws Down is not exactly cheap when it comes to private training, but Julie did not charge for travel time to our home and routinely stayed after the allotted one-hour appointment times. Yesterday, less than two months after starting with Julie, Kemper passed his AKC Canine Good Citizen test and his certificate is on the way, arriving well before we need it for travel to our new home. Thank you Paws Down and Julie for helping me ensure that my support animal and I make it safely to Europe, reuniting our family after moths apart. Not only did they do an excellent job of getting rid of all his matted fur, he's a ragdoll so he tends to get matted, but after I picked him up he was so chill. I think his discomfort on the car ride there was the tenderness from his matted back side. My 87 yr old mom just couldn't keep up with his grooming anymore cuz he's just so big. And though he loves me, he just didn't like me touching back there. On the car ride home he was so chill and the moment he stepped out of his crate he was back to his confident and happy self. They are angels and made it such a great experience for mom's cat, mom and me. Mom cried tears of joy and relief last night when she saw how well Mr Gingi was feeling. I highly recommend this place. So that was an easy pick. The day came & when we got there of course our 5 month old puppy got excited & peed on the floor & then peed again once she got petted. Even though we were embarrassed, to them it was no big deal. We got asked if we wanted a clean up, short, or fluffy. Being that this was our first time, we had no idea & just went with short as it's still hot here. We got a text a few hours later that she was ready. She looked like a completely different dog, short like we wanted but still cute. They did a great job & they got the areas that were very long. Every dog that gets groomed there also gets their photo taken in front of a backdrop that changes monthly. I thought that that was such a cute idea. We'll be coming back here for her next grooming
