We only sell locally through our showroom or plumbing counter sales. Me: Do you sell to individuals? I called the Batesville store and was told I was out of luck. Sanders: Yes, but we do not sell on-line. We sell to builders and homeowners in the Hot Springs and surrounding areas through our showroom. Me: Do you have the items in online ID XXX in stock? Sanders: No, sorry we do not stock those items. Me: Can I special order them? If so what's the lead time? If I can special order, can you take a CC number over the phone? Sanders: Again, sorry we can not special order those items and we do not take credit card orders over the phone. It was pulling teeth trying to get useful information. I never asked if I could order online so I'm not sure why that came up so much. I would only recommend dealing with these people if your blood pressure is too low.

My MIL had a fold-out reading lamp mounted on her wall above her bed that plugged into an outlet…read moreout of view. It broke a few years ago, so my husband spent the time and money to rewire it (a complete headache when a lamp folds out like that...it took at least an hour and a half to get the new wiring through the folding parts). I don't know if my MIL has been using the lamp to lift herself out of bed or if she struggled to fold it up and ended up slamming it against the wall, but it's complete toast now. We tried a find something similar a few places around town to no avail. I suggested we go to Hambuchen. We weren't hopeful, and the salesperson said she didn't have anything like that in stock. She could have had us look through her catalogs, but she was honest and said our best bet was to buy one online (I really appreciate honesty). Just as we were about to leave, she said, "Wait a minute. I do have a lamp like that...it's right over there." This lamp checks every box: adjustable metal lampshade that won't need to be replaced once it gets stained, easy to collapse so it isn't in the way (and can't be used for purposes it's not meant to serve), much lower profile, and very sturdy.
