Johnnie Oldham with Arkansas Construction and Remodeling added a covered porch to our house, and we…read morehighly recommend Johnnie and his crew. We are very pleased with the outcome. We told Johnnie we wanted a large porch to host our family and to have a place for our grandchildren to play, and he helped us work out what that would look like. We wanted half walls with wood louvers on the sides of the porch and didn't know if that was possible or could be built, and he did it, and it turned out great. We also wanted to replace our old vinyl siding with board and batten, and we love how the new siding adds to the back of our house and the aesthetic of the porch. His crew worked hard and cleaned up before leaving each day. We appreciate their professionalism and dedication to making sure we were pleased at every aspect of this project. I have included a few pictures below. The first picture was taken right before construction and shows our previous patio and siding. The next picture is right after construction was completed. I have included a few more pictures highlighting the tongue and groove ceiling, the ceiling lights that also become nightlights, and the half walls and louvers. We are excited to start landscaping around the porch and adding all of our things. It is exactly what we wanted, and it came out even better than what we envisioned. Thank you to Johnnie and his crew!

Not a good experience. May have turned out different if Johnny had not turned over the project…read moreto his son. I suspected he hired the cheapest workers he could find. Workers rarely started work until 9AM or later and left everyday at 4PM. They constantly left messes everywhere. They also borrowed items from day one... broom, extension cords, saw horses, caulk gun. Even Johnny borrowed my vacuum on the last day after he cut the worst miter joints I have ever seen (see pic) At the end (thank god) Johnny presented me with a bill 10K over the agreed upon 6K despite the contract stating that any overage had to be agreed and signed off on by both parties. Johnny did deduct 4k for work I said I was not going to pay for. The countertop installers (Original Granite and Marble) installed the main counter so that the overhang on one end was even with the counter, while the overhang on the other end was 1". Upon confrontation, they quickly left saying "walls aren't straight. Well no duh. They should have created a template and would not have had this problem. This was not Johnnie's fault but I do feel he should have insisted that it be corrected. The worst thing was Johnny and workers trying to level the kitchen floor with leveler. It was apparent they had no idea what they were doing or just did not care. 3 times they tried to level, when they should have sistered in new joists and leveled the joists. The guy installing the lvp in the kitchen was installing it backwards and I had to have Johnny dismiss him. My daughter and myself installed the lvp myself after spot leveling and grinding. I was fortunate to catch his son installing the back splashes with NO spacers. Needless to say it looked like crap. (see pics). Had him start over using spacers that I bought at Lowes. The dryer vent pipe was installed backwards in the crawl space and deformed. Both are code violations. (see pic) The bathroom window framed looks like crap as well and will have to be redone. (will post pic soon). They also damaged the outside window frame trying to get the old window out. Dishwasher install wire connectors were outside of the junction box under dish waster. I had to correct this. Other code violations as well. I could go on and will post more pics soon. You may ask why I am just reviewing a year later. Good question. Due to the stress and many confrontations with Johnny I developed a severe case of IBD/UC, resulting in 2 ER trips and one transfusion. I was simply too sick to take this to court. I will be on a JAK inhibitor the rest of my life. I should have run these guys off when the son told me 3 times! "This way is quicker and cheaper". I suggest if you use these guys, get a pro to check their work everyday. Mediocre at best. Constantly Johnny gaslighted me, not knowing that I would check everything and have installed many of these items before. They disrespected a house almost 100 years old and on the Bryant Historic Registry. I was impressed with Johnny's good reviews and maybe things would have turned out different if I had spent more money, but for 64K I expected better. Johnny also appeared to be very busy with other projects, hence turning this remodel over to someone else. (Will post more pictures soon).
