We decided to checkout this museum when we were looking for something to do in Kenosha. The cost of admission is reasonable even for non residents. It will take you 1-2 hours on average to explore depending on how much time you spend on each exhibit. We went on a Tuesday so it wasn't crowded at all. We pretty much has the place to ourselves and a couple other people. It was a very educational experience and worth a visit.

I recently donated several Civil War artifacts to this museum. The is staff is extremely helpful and professional. I can't wait to visit in person.

All aboard!

We stopped shortly after the museum reopening and had a wonderful experience. The staff was very friendly and provided us with touring info. They also have social distancing policies and hand sanitizer stations. The exhibits are amazing and many of them i interactive. Displays from wars and battles after the civil war as well. The top floor has a walk out balcony with tables so you can pack you own lunch!

Nice museum, well laid out, clean and modern. Thought the price was a bit high and no discount for military veterans.

Disappointed like everything else in Kenosha, WI Posters are nice, but not if you have to pay for them.

Basically a beautiful waterfront museum with fantastic, highly interesting exhibits that appeal to all ages. Admission is completely free, making it incredibly budget-friendly for our family of five. The volunteers and staff are absolutely wonderful--so friendly and helpful! We wanted to support them by making a donation at the gift shop. Even though I didn't have cash on me, they easily and quickly accepted a donation via Apple Pay. The outdoor area around the water has great statues to look at, and it is perfectly located near the local parks and beaches. I highly recommend stopping here if you are celebrating a Great Lakes graduation or just spending a day in Kenosha! My daughter graduated from Great Lakes and we wanted to go on a little adventure as a family during one of her liberty days. I recommend coming early and checking out local events in the nearby parks. We went on a Saturday and there was a cute Italian festival and a farmers market(Kenosha harbor market and celebration place). Afterwards we walked around the water side and enjoyed surrounding statues then headed into this cute museum. If you're going head over early enjoy the market and the museum then grab a sandwich at the local deli, snack at the piggly or a dog from red hot and head over to the park or the beach near by, then finish the day at the sweet corner! If you can make it to the cheese castle do but they close at 7 so we didn't make it! I'll make reviews for the above listed spots as well!

He was so proud and excited to go, but the entire experience was a massive disappointment. The issues started immediately upon arrival. The front parking spots were full, and the empty lot to the right was unmarked and unkempt, making the entrance feel like a junkyard. Inside, the staff member--who we later found out was the owner--completely ignored us. We waited in the gift shop for a few minutes before walking up to pay. Although the posted admission should have been $25 ($15 for an adult, $10 for a child), he charged me $30. I didn't argue because I wanted to support a small local business, which I now deeply regret. We did a quick walkthrough of the indoor expo, decided to go outside first, and plan to finish the indoor section later. The outdoor area felt less like a museum and more like a military graveyard out of a Mad Max movie. It took about two hours to walk through, and honestly, nothing was breathtaking or special (especially compared to events like the Oshkosh EAA AirVenture). The real issue happened when we went back inside to see the small part of the indoor expo we had skipped. To get over to the unseen section, my son stepped across a stanchion row. The path on the other side was completely open, so it wasn't a restricted zone--just a shortcut. As soon as we re-entered the gift shop area, the owner began screaming and yelling at my minor son, demanding, "How did you get here?!" Because his reaction was so utterly bizarre and unhinged, my son laughed, thinking it was a joke. I even laughed along at first because the owner sounded completely insane. He then shifted his screaming to, "Why are you laughing?" That's when I realized he wasn't joking. He was aggressively confronting a child over a harmless shortcut in an empty room. We ignored his continued shouting, looked around for another minute, and left. To top it all off, the bathrooms were unimaginably filthy--one was completely out of order, and the other was worse than a neglected port-a-potty. This business does not deserve your money. Before this interaction, we were actually planning to buy souvenirs and ask the owner if the museum would like a huge, antique RC plane model donated to their collection. Obviously, they didn't get the donation, and they won't get our business ever again. I was also planning to bring my boyfriend next time, but I'm glad he skipped this trip and saved his $15.

Unfortunately for me that was the best part of the experience. We happened to arrive on memorial day weekend when they were having a special ceremony. Despite looking at their website it was unclear that their hours were different. They didn't open at 10am but at noon when their special program began. We killed 40 mins thinking that at noon we could get into the building but no we had to wait through the fortunately short ceremony (which was hard to hear due to a poor PA setup). It was free on this day so not sure the regular price but thank goodness because this place was not what we expected. It wasn't really war memorabilia but some exhibits telling stories of some soldiers. Don't get me wrong the exhibit about the chaplain and his collection of glass from damaged European churches during WWII was well done but that was most of what was on display. We spent maybe 30 minutes or so here. I do support the founder Jennifer Pritzker in her stance that she isn't going to let any government officials dictate the stories being told. A benefit of this being a privately funded museum. Nonetheless very underwhelming.

The Pritzker Military Museum is a collection of artifacts from various soldiers and wars. Has artifacts such as medals. You can also use the library if you're a military personnel. Because the museum is pretty small, it won't take most people long to see everything here. It has a pretty simple layout. This is located on the second floor of a building at Michigan and Monroe. It's a $10 admission without any discounts. There's discounts for active military, students, and others. It's a small museum so also think if it as a donation. There's lots of photographs but also artifacts such as medals and uniforms. A few exhibits on POWs including one about the Hanoi Hilton. There's lots to read up on if you're interested in this kind of stuff. Check it out if you're interested in military history. It also has a library if you do research. There's also various events, programs, and other things.
