Civicplus is decent website software hidden behind raw incompetence. It is NOT for IT professionals and IT professionals will find nothing but frustration in dealing with these amateurs. They do not seem aware of what their website can and cannot do and will routinely ask users to perform actions that only admins have the authority to perform resulting in failure after failure. I currently have 5 users who are unable to establish their accounts because the password system does not work resulting in users not being able to maintain their own department's webpages. Admins cannot reset passwords, so I sit helplessly watching this useless password system fail again and again. My users have now given up on maintaining their own department pages and all those tasks have fallen to IT. We are looking for a replacement and regret our investment in civicplus. Do yourself a favor, find any other website company as even a group of high school kids will do a better job than civicplus. read more

This company is non-responsive, unprofessional and poorly managed. Never, ever speak to a live person and the automated system is archaic. Probably 2 people in the office and everything else is outsourced to another part of the world that does not work on our time. Worst company ever. Stay away. read more

Extremely immature company. They seem to lack any real business experience in delivering IT services and it shows. My impression is a bunch of college kids Mark Zuckerberg wannabees who are having fun with a website company while studying for their mid-terms. Unprofessional, immature and lacking in in any sense of urgency to deliver. Their base product is good, but not exceptional. Their service however is mediocre on a good day. If you have good content, and are willing to really grind with their tool-set, you too can have a great website. But that's your sweat equity and content, not the results of their "world class" team (an overused term from their website). Basic simple ideas seem to allude them, like turning certain features on and off as needed. Basic concepts that should have been apparent in early testing. And when you bring these things up, they seem unwilling or incapable of correcting these flaws. service techs use terms like "roll-out" and "resolution" as if they are interchangeable. Check your text book Skippy, roll-out is a feature enhancement scheduled for a later date, resolution is fixing your broken toy NOW on my schedule, not on the schedule of your overseas programming resources. If you are the person who drives your local school bus, or snow plow, and you occasional get involved with technology at your community, then by all means use their tool. But if you are an IT professional and know what you are doing? Don't. You will be a lot happier if you just slam your hand repeatedly in a desk drawer, because it will hurt less when you are done. read more

The City I work for currently switched over to Civic Plus. I have been out in charge of maintaining the new Website and have found Civic Plus to take their time in answering questions/concerns. When they finally do answer my questions they are using IT lingo and have NO desire to help me. They made a variety of mistakes before launching of new website and have pushed back when i have requested them to make corrections or they just don't make the correction at all and tell me to pay for more training. Keep in mind we have only been live for 2 weeks and I would just like a little guidance. I agree with John C. that they are immature, unwilling, and work at their pace not yours. read more
