Oh my word we've used these red bus tours all over Europe and they are often quite good, even though the seats are not at all comfortable ever but this one, going around York, was deservedly splendid because it had a highly animated, highly entertaining, human guide - no need for the earplugs here if you understand English.
He was super informed, always good humoured and he delivered a ton of facts staccato style.
He handled questions and gave left of field facts like where the Beatles performed in York in the -960's interlaced with the many hangings and of course the history of Quaker chocolate manufacturing and of course Craven's of toffee, humbug and French almond fame.
I could have listened to him all day but after an hour the lousy seats do take their avoidable toll. I think his accent was South Shields direction.
