Keepin it real in LIC Got invited to an event (not a paid customer) and it was honestly pretty fun. Some of the best indoor courts out there, even has a lounge and food area to hangout. Plenty of seats on the side to watch your friends play as well. Def an ideal spot for pickleball

City Pickle in Long Island City is a great spot if you just wanna play for fun. They got a good amount of courts, so you're not waiting around too long but you should also make a reservation. Also got a full bar and plenty of food options for when you get too hungry from all the pickling! Staff is very friendly and helpful. Perfect place to hang out, play a few games, and just have a good time.

It's an interesting location, and found myself a little lost! I saw the CityPickle logo on the windows but the door seems covered so it is not obvious it's the entrance. Once I entered, it was a pretty seamless check in where I signed a CityPickle waiver for specifically the Long Island City location, and went on my way since I was part of a large party that booked 2 courts. I'm giving it 3 stars because of the space. I've been to the CityPickle in Industry City. There was MUCH much more space in that venue, and more courts. This CityPickle had 4 courts total. All of them fitting together like a tetris game though, rather than being parallel. I felt like this caused a lot of balls to roll into court. Additionally, because of the style of the building, there were surprisingly a lot of balls that hit the ceiling (lot of funky exposed piping and infrastructure sticking out) and random pillars that are all over the location too. There is a seating area on one side of the wall, which along one court. A lot of balls also tend to fling at their faces, so people sitting there should be prepared. As I mentioned, I came with a big group, so when a couple of people were standing in that area and talking, as they do, there were points in the game that I literally didn't have enough space to hit the ball if it came to the far left side of the court. A different court was so close to the wall, that one had very limited space to serve outside the line. So depending which court and which side, certain moves and aspects of the game felt hindered.

The concept of Citypickle is great but the execution of this facility in LIC is subpar. I would give it more stars if the courts had more space, but this facility in particular is extremely crammed, and borderline dangerous tbh. You can't serve the ball without hitting the wall or barrier behind you. I've seen people run into and fall over the barriers multiple times. It hard to play any kind of competitive game without multiple point redo's. I get that real estate in NYC is complicated, but there's no excuse to be charging $120 to rent a court with these conditions... $80 would be more reasonable. Unfortunately in the winter, there's no other alternatives for indoor courts near the city. However, I will say the staff is super friendly and great and they do a good job of hosting DUPR events and social events as well. This citypickle location is fine if you just want to do drills or a fun social play, but I wouldn't get my hopes up for a proper competitive game.

This review is for city pickle in Long Island city. I went to an event for Galentine's day, and I had such a blast. The people who worked at city pickle we're so warm and inviting, and makes me want to go back for other events and compete in their leagues. The place itself has 4 courts and it's very clean and tidy, even the bathrooms were clean! They also have a coat rack, ample chairs and tables, as well as a bar and food area. Additionally, there are pickle ball paddles to borrow. I am so glad an indoor pickle ball place exist like this. I can't wait to go back!

ok. courts are not expensive, but I guess that's part of NYC costs. for the price was hoping for better quality courts.

Is there parking at or near LIC location or is it street parking and we need to factor in time to drive around looking?

I really enjoyed playing pickle ball here, although I'd like the price to be a little more affordable.

The lighting could be better on certain courts.. uhem courts 1, 2, 3, but my friends and i love coming here because honestly we know these courts inside out. We know which are the good courts and which courts have some hiccups, we come here so often know where the dead spots are on certain courts but with all that the prices at night for private courts cant be beat. One of my friends had a bad experience recently and I'm glad the owners took her experience into consideration and addressed the issue pertaining that specific employee. (if you scroll through all the bad reviews on google, its always about that one specific employee.) This place has become so popular that it is always booked out 2 weeks in advance. Looking forward to seeing how this place continues to grow and improve. Love the majority of the courts here especially their newer ones court 11&12. It has a little more privacy and prevents balls from flying all over into other peoples courts and vice versa. Some courts especially court 2 is less desirable in my opinion, it's dark and hard to focus or see the ball. Some courts do have water dripping from ceiling during rainy/ snowy days but it's not significant enough to become a hazard. Appreciate that they now have 24 hour options available. All of their staff are amazing except the one senile old guy, he's just miserable. (IYKYK) We come here regularly and seeing him just ruins your day/mood. Overall good courts with no dead bounces, adequate overhead space and lighting and clean bathrooms. There's parking to the side of the building (across the street) and in the back, however on snowy days it is a dangerous trek.

But the people at Dave & Busters will point you in the right area and then you can always go back there for other fun events. I do like this empty second floor mall space has been repurposed into something unexpected. You book ahead of time, get a code to come in, then have to use a vending machine for equipment. This actually didn't work for us, and it was difficult to track down any employee at the many courts to get help. It's a bit of automation at the expense of customer service, but eventually we were able to actually get the equipment (which is buy only, not renting.) As an inexperienced group, the employee gave us an overview of rules but just said to focus on trying to hit the ball back and forth. We did end up having a good time. We were not serious players, but we got some good movement in. We were going to sneak a little more time, but a group did come in the next block, so don't expect to go over your hour (or however long your time). We rented the 2 court options, so there was inevitable some crossover with hits into each other's games, but we were keeping it friendly. I could see the proximity could bother people. I'm glad if it gets some traction as a space. Otherwise, it's an eerily quiet upstairs. There is a bathroom down a silent winding hallway nearby. Plenty of parking as well.

We were a party of 8 and went all in on the Honey Deuces... only to end up disappointed. They were way too sweet, and after a couple sips, we gave them away and switched over to Aperol Spritz instead. The only catch is that they weren't freshly made but poured from pre-bottled mixes. Not ideal, but with a crowd that massive, I get why they do it. As for the matches, we got to see both women's semifinals: Sabalenka vs. Pegula and Osaka vs. Anisimova. I'll leave the deep tennis commentary to the pros but for me, it was more about the atmosphere. With the roof closed because of rain, the stadium felt like a giant echo chamber in the best way. Every cheer bounced around, the energy was nonstop, and just being part of that crowd was unforgettable.
