I needed a EKG for my surgery so I called and setup everything. Doctors office also setup the pre authorization along with all the paperwork needed. All was approved so I got ready and painfully drove myself to the office. To be told that he didnt want to do the EKG on me. How unprofessional and disrespectful. He was standing there pacing back and forth in the waiting room. I worked many years for a doctors office and this is no way to treat a patient especially in lots of pain. DO NOT COME HERE. Extremely unprofessional atmosphere and very rude staff. I came in for a physical after calling ahead to confirm they could perform it and that they accepted my insurance. I was told yes to both. Once I arrived I filled out lots of paperwork, only once done with the paperwork one of the girls informed me that I can only pay $220 out of pocket or my employer can pay. This was never mentioned on the phone and felt very misleading. 3 girls at the front desk and not another patient in sight. When I had questions about the paperwork, all three chimed in with attitude and clear annoyance. Doctor was extremely unprofessional and rude.. was only in the room for about 2 minutes. She checked my lungs, signed the paper and left. I have never felt more uncomfortable in a medical setting. The way I was spoken to by both the staff and the doctor was unacceptable. read more

I came in for a visit after a fall. The doc who saw me and evaluated my extremely large hematoma referred me to a dermatologist. The doc did not order any imaging. This doc gave me a very confonfusing referral. As someone with a background in medicine, I found the referral odd, but I proceeded regardless. Oops. The derm doc confirmed that they were not the correct referral. Luckily I made use of my time. I am now waiting to get an ultrasound from a clinical radiologist and if my referral to a clinical radiologist fails, I am looking at a referral to a general surgeon. Beware. read more

Just had a great experience with City MD in Raritan. My wife is pregnant and just got sick; she has been unable to keep food or fluids down and has sinusitis. Everyone on the staff, from reception to the medical assistants and doctor were top notch. Johannes helped me check my wife in quickly and we were also taken back to a room quickly. The medical team came in right away to begin addressing the issues. They were attentive and kind and didn't mind addressing questions to me while my wife was feeling terrible. Jackie and Dr. Ahmed helped provide her with fluids and got her an ice pack when she began to feel overheated, and didn't waste any time calling in a prescription for an antibiotic (as she's limited on what she can take to help her symptoms). They also provided her with a pillow for her to rest while she got her fluids. When I poked my head out to ask where my wife should vomit, Michael quickly entered the room to get a basin out for her. Absolutely top notch care from top to bottom; we will be back for any future needs (though I hope few and far between). read more

I have some legit concerns with this place - and it's not around wait times, or front desk staff, or any of that stuff. Went in this morning after a week of flu like symptoms. Have taken several covid tests, all negative. Added bonus, I seem to have picked up pink eye in the last 48 hours or so. So it was time to go in, get checked out and see what was up. Reported all of my symptoms to the person who checked me in, and again to the doctor, who gave me what I can only describe as the least thorough exam of all time. Complaint about eye? She never even looked at the eye. Complaint about phlegm and sore throat? Never looked at my throat. She literally looked in each ear for 4 seconds, said 'yes you are sick' and wrote a script for eye drops and for antibiotics. My entire time with the doctor was under a minute, including my time describing my symptoms. Now look, I get it, this is a walk in clinic and the idea is to get patients in and out as quickly as you can. I get it, this is probably just a cold that's hanging around and no real medical attention is required. I get it, even if it's more than a cold, a broad spectrum antibiotic will probably take care of it...but I have never felt more like I'd walked into an antibiotic factory in my life. Is that the process now? Sick person walks in, don't bother with exam, write script for antibiotics? You don't even want to listen to my chest to make sure that nothing is traveling down there? Front desk staff was great, check in process was painless, and I was in and out in under 30 minutes...but it's not the best when I leave a doctor and feel like I should immediately make an appointment with my doctor so that I can get an actual exam done! read more

Billing-double charge patients. Also, was told by front staff that my second appt (4 days after my first, and had not gotten better) that it was a follow up appt, they charged me anyways. When trying to dispute it they still charge and have double charged me for my last appt (paid there, then have gotten bill twice since for same amt). NEVER going back here again, ONE doctors - Ahmad, SECOND billing. Ridiculous! Have been getting care on horizon blue cross/blue shield televisit $5 each time and super impressed. Went last evening at 6:30. Told they couldn't take me Bc they close at 8pm and were full. Ok, wake up go back in the morning told the wait would be 20-30 mins. (I'm sick and have covid symptoms or flu like symptoms so I suggested I be tested after being up all night very sick) After 3 HOURS of waiting in my car!!!! I walk inside They tell me they are taking all emergencies first and don't know when they can see me for "testing". I'm not just there for a test, I'm sick and need to see someone. If the expected time changed I should have been told politely they can't see anyone today. Completely unprofessional went to another urgent care I was seen in 15 minutes flat. If i can give this place a zero i would. The worst doctor i have ever been treated by. He literally butchered my infected thumb with a knife , to squeeze the puss out of it, with no anesthesia. Then sends me home with an ice pack and a BANDAID bleeding out the front door to my car smh... never again!!!! After an awkward fall left me with a gash on my head, it proved to be a prudent decision to seek medical attention. I was staying with a friend for the weekend (part of my "quaranteam") & a quick google search lead me to CItyMD in Raritan. All things considered, my entire Saturday early-afternoon visit from start to finish was very easy and very quick. The facility was spotless; Dr. Jefferson and her assistant CJ were both delightful-- she cleaned the wound, stitched me up and I was on my way. I went today with a cut fingerat 11:30. I knew I needed stitches. I was bleeding a lot. The check in person was nice but urgent care should not be written on their door. After a few minutes she said ok we can take you but there's a wait. Looked around at the people with flu symptoms while I was bleeding on their floor. They brought me back handed me gauze and left. The dr came in, looked at my finger and said it would take an hour and she didn't have time and said I needed to go to the ER. I left disappointed, drove to the ER to then wait some more surrounded by sicker people. In the end I only needed stitches. Can't wait to see the bill for the gauze CityMed gave me. read more

This is in reference to the front desk staff. Although they are behind the desk with plexiglass, you would think at a medical facility they would enforce their staff to be masked at all times. I needed to get a COVID test done. When I asked why she wasn't wearing her mask (which was completely under her chin while speaking to me to book my appointment), her coworker stood up for her and stated she WAS wearing her mask and she was just drinking her water. I'm new to the area and we needed to be tested for COVID-19. We went on a Sunday morning to be honest I really don't know what I was expecting as far as patient. To my surprise we all thought I like because it was crowded I had to wait 30 + minutes just to check in that's how long the line was. But that wasn't really a problem. About 2hrs later we saw the Dr right away before even testing us we're told we have COVID-19 mind you we didn't even get tested yet. But we were told do to our symptoms to quarantine for 7days and then retest after that. Ok I was surprised but again I'm no doctor so I took the doctors orders. I needed a note to let my employer know that I was given instructions to quarantine and never got a Dr note although I asked I was told it will be in the patient portal Wrong. So I call back and asks if it could be faxed no was told I needed to drive back an hour ride to get it. So now I'm like really I'm feeling like I was in a fight get up and go. Before I get there I call and asks if I can just run in and grab it sure np I was told. Get there Good morning I just called for my note oh we need to see your Id and you have to wait on line as well. Mind you there was no parking cause it was a packed house. The receptionist with the ponytail was amazing can't remember her name but this other female with a very very short hair was like she's having a bad day. She took the later from the Receptionist with the ponytail while I'm asking her for it. Then she held onto it waited until she's helping all these people before she would give me I'm like hello can I please get the note I already showed my I'd talk about miserable. Mind you I'm told to quarantine so why they couldn't fax it or email it to me but would rather me have to come back out 1hr there 1hr back home is beyond me. Everyone else was nice but the receptionist with the very very short hair was so rude with a nasty attitude but it's all great I'm Negative tested 2 more times and that was negative. I went to CitiMD walk-in clinic on 7/27/21 and Dr. Ramalakshmi Nuthi was the physician that I saw. I had an infection that did not show up on the initial screening, but I was convinced that I had one. Dr. Nuthi was very dismissive of my issue and told me that I did not have an infection. Based on my insistence, she agreed to send in a culture, which takes 3-5 days. I waited for the culture results for over a week and she never even bothered to call me when they came in. I found the results myself on the customer portal 8 days later, and as I suspected, I did have an infection. I called the office to discuss it with her and was put on hold for 30 minutes before I finally hung up. I called back and the office said that she wasn't in that day, but they would have the doctor who was in call me. It's now 2 days later and I still haven't gotten a call back. I will never go back to CitiMD or see Dr. Nuthi again. Their/her treatment of me was appalling. read more

Let me preface this review by admitting I am a nurse and tend to be overly critical of medical facilities. With that being said...I fell down my icy stairs and broke my leg. Upon seeing my ortho surgeon on a Friday morning before a long holiday weekend, I was informed that I would need a STAT COVID test as well as a STAT EKG completed that same day in order to proceed with my surgery scheduled the following Tuesday morning after the holiday. The surgeon sent me to EmerCare in Green Brook to have both tests done. What a nightmare that was!!!!! Such a horrible experience that I just walked out and decided to go elsewhere even if it meant delaying my surgery! I went home and phoned my insurance company for recommendations as to where I could go. The very first one listed (closest to my home in Branchburg) was this Raritan CityMD. I phoned to confirm that my insurance would be accepted and to ask if I could have the ordered tests completed. I was assured both tests could be done and my insurance covered it. We arrived there within 15 minutes of my call. The waiting room was almost empty. The woman at the front desk was wonderful and accommodating to the fact I was on crutches and struggling. Both medical assistants and the physician were extremely professional, kind and caring. I had both tests completely and was in and out with 30 minutes. I can't praise this staff and the exceptional facility enough! I will not hesitate to recommend this facility to anyone needing urgent care! I even suggested my ortho surgeon refer their patients to this wonderful facility! It's assuring to know I have such a great urgent care facility minutes from my home if ever needed!
