Mary P. gave extensive tours to my family. The facility is very clean and modern, but also…read morecomfortable and cozy. There are a myriad of amenities. In addition, they have assisted living plus a number of levels of care up to end of life. They can provide medication to residents, ostomy care, catheter care, bathing, dressing, toileting, housekeeping, escorts by wheel chair to dining and throughout the facility. If you need a medical bed or wheelchair they can help coordinate. If you need to move they have a liaison that would work with your to help bring furniture to their place for design. And also helping thin out belongings . Optional. You can eat in your room. Staff has 24 hour care and shifts with RNs, CNs, LPNs, mgmt director social worker, sales, care coordinator. The facility has indoor parking, handicap too, there is security with locked doors so people cannot get in after a certain hour . There are cameras. There is restaurant quality restaurants, a number of places to eat, depending on if you are assisted living or independent living. And there is a gorgeous rooftop spacious area with loungers and chairs and outdoor furniture with a gorgeous view of downtown Chicago if you want a cocktail. The rooftop is open but w a ceiling. And then there is a facility up top where you can also rent if you have a party. Wall to wall windows. And there's a bar area. There is a large movie theater. There is a beauty salon and they do massages. There is a physical therapy room and physical therapists can work with you depending on your needs. Medicare coordinated. There is a church nearby and walking distance. There are a ton of activities listed on the wall that are going on every single day. They are posted also in the elevator. And you can receive a copy. Every assisted living resident wears alert necklaces around their neck and when you press it, it sends a message to the staff or the nurse in short order to come to your room if there's something urgent or an escort needed. This is not skilled nursing, but it has a lot of features in the plus care category that would meet the needs of most people in their golden years. If you are flat on your back and convalescing, you probably should be in skilled nursing. But that is not the energy or aura of American House. It's a breath of fresh air with senior living to end of life. There's absolutely nothing American House couldn't provide to probably 99% of people. I was very impressed. There is also a grocery store being built across the street. There's parking in front of the building that it's very spacious. If you have to unload a wheelchair. The front door is automatic. It's a building that takes up a full block. It is clean, and the residents are very friendly, and the staff is very friendly. The price point is appropriate and will not break the bank. There are tailored approaches. And it's in Oak Park, which is a lovely community, very diverse w restaurants and parks, and very close to the city. They provide transportation within 8 miles for free. Or rather as part of your monthly rent. This is a month-to-month rental. With a minor down payment. There is also outdoor space in the courtyard and umbrella tables and a bar and a cooking grill. And there's also small gardening with people who may plant vegetables or flowers. The rooms are very modern and comfortable, and there is no stove, but there is a microwave and a sink and stainless steel refrigerator appliances. The rooms are hardwood floors and tall windows. Lots of light. Good views. The windows do not open for safety. The rooms are carpeted. No bath tubs. Walk in showers. And the closet space is huge. The doorways are wide for wheelchairs. You can decorate it the way you like. Utilities are included. You can get a landline separate. But most people have cells. Parking is extra. You are a couple blocks from Rush Hospital. Again great facility. Mary P. is a tremendous asset to American House and is very thorough in her explanations of the offerings of the facility. Subject matter expert, she is great listener. In the assisted living area, some people do put up their names outside their door, but it's like an apartment. And very private. So your doors are not open like a nursing home. And there's a number of areas with televisions and there is a piano, and coffee bar on the first floor. Books to read, games, social schedules. Wonderful, spacious, clean, I give it five stars.

Caregivers are not there to scrub toilets or put in IVs or catheters or to take vitals. We are not nurses or maids. I have dealt with a lot of verbal and emotional abuse from clients from this company. Family members screaming and cussing at me. I have dealt with inconsistent scheduling and promised full time work for consistent clients. The lady in charge of scheduling was inconsistent and unprofessional. She would miss emails from staff and clients and repeat harass call staff and clients. The ex owner and new owner would never write her up or take disciplinary action. In both cases, the health aid was wonderful. Very sweet, helpful, upbeat, and willing to accommodate all of our needs. Kerry asked a lot of questions to help narrow down our options. She recommended several places to help us determine what size/feel would work best for our situation. Kerry set up the appointments for our tours and checked with us to get feedback. Our timeline for moving needed to happen sooner than we thought, and Kerry helped keep us on track. My father-in-law is happy with his new home and we appreciate Kerry's help.

The day we were to…read morediscuss assisted living with her doctor, I found myself calling 911 and sending her to the hospital for what would be 51 days, sepsis, 2 surgeries & 2 rehab stints. Having her return home was no longer an option; which led me to quickly get to up to speed on senior living options, mostly on my own. I found her a place & moved her in all before her release. While I ensured her safety, I second guessed my decisions as she vocally struggled to adjust; it was a lot of change particularly for someone who rarely left her home. Almost 6 months in, a different set of doubts & worries took over. Did I make the right call, could she live somewhere more affordable, would she outlive her money, etc. I don't even recall what search term led me to Senior Living Experts, but I'm grateful. Rebecca listened to my story and made me feel less alone. She thought where my mom was at was the best option in terms of cost, desired location and care needs addressed, but would do the research and circle back. We also discussed the care she received currently and provided a few suggestions. As promised, Rebecca followed up and confirmed her initial assessment. Yes, I'll still worry about her finances, but I now have a better understanding of the landscape and what comes should her care needs increase. If I had a do over, I would have started with Senior Living Experts, they are amazing!

I've been in the emergency room for about two hours with my 80-year-old mother, and unfortunately, the environment has been far from what I remember. Staff members were openly using profanity and engaging in inappropriate conversations within earshot of patients. It was uncomfortable and honestly disheartening--especially for someone of my mother's age to have to sit and listen to. I've been coming here for over 40 years, and I never expected to see such a decline in professionalism. As someone who works in the medical field, I understand how demanding these environments can be, but maintaining a respectful and appropriate atmosphere should always be a priority. This experience was upsetting, and I truly hope this feedback is taken seriously. I will be following up further regarding this concern. I guess this is the quality that Loyola is now, such a disappointment. The only thing I can say positive is the chaplain who came down with kindness and compassion.

I really hope they improve their patient communication and overall service, because this was not the level of care anyone expects when going to a hospital.

I was there 1.5 days before I received my first prescribed pain medication, before I received and ice bag for the swelling, before I received and aspirin which was to help prevent blood clotting after replacement surgery. The food was horrible, the aides were more interested in if I had a girlfriend and do I want another one then they were in helping me. Take that back. There was one aide there that tried to help. They even went as far as to get me a unprescribed meds because of my pain level. Though illegal I needed it and it helped but if they had to ability to break the law like that then what else are they doing to break the law. There's more, believe me there's more. I've let this go until now. Now I'm pissed. They have gone as far as trying to get my assistance revoked. I would like nothing better than getting up and walk again and get back to doing what I do but for the first time in my life I need help and they want to net it turned off. Social security has dropped me and link did as well. I was reluctant to ask why but I called link and asked why and they told me.
