After the excitement of the LSU game(and unfortunate loss) , this was the perfect way to wind down and still keep the energy high. The setup is not your average mini-golf course , each tee is themed after a different part of New Orleans, and you actually get to learn pieces of the city's rich history as you play through all 18 holes. It's such a cool blend of fun and culture--where else can you work on your putting game while learning about the traditions, neighborhoods, and landmarks that make New Orleans so unique? Absolutely loved the waterfalls and street name signs as tee signs! Very creative way to get to know famous New Orleans streets. Staff and check-in were extremely friendly and fast. Amazing staff. Reason for 3 stars : We went at night and it was insanely DARK, like we used our phones to see where the ball went. Could have used more lighting. We also went the day after it rained and 40 percent of the holes were not draining and were filled with old rain water... gross!!! Drainage could use a little help. In all we would give this place a try in the day time of a cool autumn season. It is also located in city park so this is a good location for families to walk and explore the museums and cafe. read more

This was my first time playing putt putt at City Park! I didn't even know they had this. The course is so pretty and quintessential New Orleans themed. There are small ponds (gated, kid friendly), artifacts about the state, and statues. It's a fairly large course with several different holes. They sell small snacks as well. The cost is about $10/person with no time limit (to my knowledge). There is an upper "deck" with seating and music throughout the course. Generally, wheelchair friendly. Only con is there are areas of the course that need minor repair. Definitely a nice place for families, dates, general outings, and even solos. read more

Relaxing enjoyable afternoon with family! It was quiet and peaceful, too! The course is creative with the decorations and all but the actual greens and holes could have been a little more creative? Not that big of a deal cuz it was chill which was the best part. Only reason we couldn't give it 5 stars was because the people working the front counts had zero personality. On the way out there wasn't even a grunt to acknowledge we turned the putters back in or said 'thanks.' What happened to customer service or even an awareness of your surroundings? Fall is a great time to play mini golf. There was a group of us, 9 in all, ages from 7 to 57. Check-in was easy and we all had fun. The youngest golfer was hot so she quit about a third the way through course, but still had fun at City Park. She got a snowball right outside City Putt. The tweens stayed one course ahead and had a blast. They waited at the last course for us slow moving adults. Lol. None of us kept score, so we all won!! It is still warm so I'm thinking winter/spring will be even better!! read more

In a city where food and drink reign supreme, it's always nice to have options for activities that don't fall into that genre. I'm not a big fan of real golf, but putt putt? Sign me up! It's such a fun activity to do with friends, on a date, or with family. The music that they play is always super fun and keeps you jamming in the event that you have to wait for your next putt. On my most recent visit, we came during the day and the weather was perfect so naturally folks were out enjoying the day on the green. Even with the larger crowd, it didn't at all feel too packed and we didn't have to wait too long between holes. This could have just been luck on our part with the course that we chose though. There are two 18 hole courses, one Louisiana themed and one New Orleans themed, for you to choose from and you pay per round. It's $10 for adults, $8 for kids ages 4-12, and free for those younger; second rounds are half-priced.There's a party room for those looking for a place to host an event. They also have a few snack and beverages available for purchase. Also the restrooms are typically pretty clean which is a plus! read more

Disclaimer: I am horrible at mini golf. I don't think I have ever won in the 100s (1000s?!) of games I've played in my life, unless someone let me. But this absolutely does not stop me from wanting to play any time I see a course! The pros: Located in City Park, there are lots of events and activities always surrounding City Putt. When we were there, there was an artists' market on the lawn, a wedding at the botanical garden, and lots of Homecoming pictures being taken by local high school students. There's a snoball truck there, and if you're a Friend of City Park (yearly membership), you get a discount on your game! The two courses are locally themed and have cute historically accurate signs and items around the courses to let you learn and enjoy. The cons: It can get crowded, but on a perfect day, I can't imagine a place that wouldn't be. For me, the bigger part was it was all pretty flat. It's not like one of those toursity places that build a fake mountain for you to work up and around. It's just mostly flat with very little intrigue to the course. None of that helped me win, of course, it just made it seem a bit more stagnant. Definitely a fun way to enjoy a Fall afternoon, and a reason to spend more time in City Park. Worth the fun, and especially a great reason to get a Friends of City Park annual pass. This was a fun little date with my son! There is a lot of parking and even a cute little snowball stand in the front of it for a cool treat. The young men at the front desk were very knowledgeable and helped me with understanding the rules of putt putt. It's super affordable and we had a blast. Although the weather was humid and hot, there were some shady spots to cool off and benches in between the holes. You have the options on doing one side that consist of 17 holes or you can do both. I came to City Putt in 2016 or so with a dear friend who has now passed, but I have some wonderful memories of that. I came recently with another dear friend and had just as much fun. We both did not play well, but that is not the point. The point is to have fun. And it was fun. Parts do need some attention paid to it in the form of repairs, but it was reasonably priced. This place was nice. It was in city park and it was quite out, It wasn't too busy. They had two 18 hole games we could play. They have benches at each hole for you to sit on. Each hole had a fact about the city at each hole. Which was interesting to read. They sell waters and ice cream for you to purchase and you will need it because when we went it was very humid out and having that drink was good. This place is awesome for groups, date night, or if just bored! They offer two courses: one for $8 a person (18 holes) or for just $4 more ($12 per person), you get 36 holes! Being that we came on July 4th weekend it was pretty packed and busy. We did have to wait at each hole for about two groups ahead of us. I think there were two courses, but I was just aimlessly following my friends so I wasn't paying attention to the options available. We chose the Louisiana Course; it was a pretty easy course to me with nothing too advance. I think the price was around $8. So visit the Sculpture Garden in the area as well. It was one of those rare "not so humid, not so hot" New Orleans summer days when David and I decided to finally check out City Putt. Yeah, I know that we are totally late to the party, but I like to think of it as being fashionably late. We were here in the late afternoon, so lucky for us there was no line or wait, We paid, picked our golf balls and headed out. There are two courses you can choose to play or you can play both. I hadn't played mini golf since my "Putt Putt" days as a kid, and I thought I would be rusty, but I caught on pretty quickly. I like how the course is set up with different "water hazards" and there are misters going at every hole to cool you down if you get really hot. The landscaping of the whole space is lovely and I like how each hole has a different theme inspired by a different city in Louisiana. My only complaint is those greens. I don't know what happened, but SO MANY of them are torn to shreds and falling apart to the point where it interferes with the game. I don't understand why they haven't made some effort to replace them. I understand that normal wear and tear happens over time, but on some of the holes it looks as if someone (kids?) have tried to actively pull up the green. That was the only thing that prevented this from being a 5 star experience for me. I had a great time and, while the game was really close, I ended up winning by 3 strokes! I want to go back and play the other course. This is a fun way to spend an afternoon, if you are looking to do something for an hour or so. read more

This place is a mess. Which is such a shame because it used to be nice and has such potential. All of the water features were completely dried up with crud in there. There was a sign saying excuse our progress while we work on the water feature but all the water holes looked like they had been dried up for quite a while and I didn't see much evidence of any work being done. The green carpet on every single hole has huge rips and tears. This obviously hinders the game. Kind of hard for you to get your ball in the hole within a couple putts when it's got to climb over a mountain of ripped carpet to even get to the hole. Dead dried up plants everywhere. It looked like an abandoned golf coarse that someone just let people go play in. We paid $60 for 4 people to do both courses. There were quite a few people there for it to be in such bad shape. After dark, there was lighting but a lot of it was hindered by tree limbs. I've seen much brighter lighting at other courses. When we left, not a single light was on in the parking lot. It was pitch black dark. With the crime rate in New Orleans, this seems a bit inviting to criminals. The employees were friendly and the pencils were sharp but I won't go back until I've seen some upgrades. Do better City Putt! read more

Lots of debris on the course that could be easily blown off with a blower. Lots of loose and missing bricks that need to be repaired. The gardens could be weeded and mulched. The greens on the courses need maintenance. I wish we would have taken pictures. The turf is torn up on every hole, especially near the cup. We mentioned it to the staff on our way out and they said the courses were scheduled for repairs later this year. We went on a Saturday a few weeks ago & there were only about 3 other groups playing both courses. Seems the hot summer months would be ideal for fixing this mess? I'm giving this "3-star" place a 4th star for the following reasons. 1) They exist 2) The service people were great 3) The serve beer Seriously it's the ONLY putt putt in town or at least outdoor putt putt. I don't count those Laser Tag , glow in the dark places with 8,000 unsupervised germ infested kids running around. It's 2 rather simple 18 hole putt putt courses. 1 with a Lousiana theme, each hole is named after a Lousiana town and has a little plaque with some history for you people. Learning is good. The other is NOLA themed with street names for each hole. The course is very well kept, no twigs or leaves that you have to scrape out of the way to hit your ball. The greens are all new and bright. They have like 6-8 people working here and all of them greeted us at least once. There is no lazy riff raff here. They have beer. As every place in Nola does or at least should. They are open 7 days a week and are open late. 10pm during the week and 11 on weekends(I think). I will definitely be back . read more

I loved this place when it first opened but it's unfortunately seriously rundown now. The course is in disrepair and they don't even sweep the course before opening for the day. Hitting here then going across the street to the amusement park and after catching some Morning Call. The parking lot is currently getting black topped now which is way overdue. Was a big eyesore compared to the polished City Putt. All the course is in fine working order and really is fun. The only drawback we ever encounter is when parents with the "only child" have to play thru because, well, those kids get everything they want except for manners. So let little Abner or Veruca thru please! Aside from that, its always a good time with my kids and makes an excellent drunk date activity. read more

First off, I would never have think of going to the City Putt only because I think golf is boring. I am glad Morgan F hook me up with two pass for the event. I endup had to work on Halloween and almost didn't make it. I am glad I made it because I had so much fun even though I was tired. Whoever was hired to decorate the City Putt did a wonderful job for Halloween. Upon enter the front desk, the staffs greeted me and was very friendly. They had a deal going on at City Putt with snacks and a kid stations for kids to color and draw for a price. City Putt is a 36-hole mini golf complex with two courses, the Louisiana Course highlights cultural themes and cities from around the state and the New Orleans Course showcases streets and iconic themes from around the city, with signs detailing the city's historic sites at each hole. They have tables for people to enjoy the concessions stand since foods are not allowed on the course. The reason for one less star is that, it would be so much better if they have more food options then chips, soda, water and beer. The weather was great and a very nice evening if I was on a date. There are plenty of parking and after playing golf. I love that City Putt is located so closed to other attractions in City Park. I will definitely come back especially during Halloween for sure! read more

It was crowded and we felt extremely rushed at each hole. There were three of us and we're not very good so it would have been nice to take our time. Several holes I ended up just picking up my ball and moving on because there were groups behind us. City Putt would do well to stagger incoming groups with a timer. I wasn't even going to leave a review, to be honest. We had a pretty good time. But on our way out we were dripping with sweat from the ungodly heat and there was a sno-ball stand just outside the entrance. Our friend was with us from out of state so it was a perfect chance to let her try a local treat and cool off at the same time. Y'all. I wish I would have gotten pictures. I was horrified when the lady handed the first one out the window (which happened to be mine). I couldn't take a picture because this was literally a two-hand experience and I couldn't touch my phone. The syrup was gushing out of the top and all over the sides of the plastic City Putt cup. Pouring, I tell you. It was the same with the two others. Mine was spearmint and our out of towner buddy got nectar at my insistence so you can imagine the state of our hands. Napkins barely helped because the syrup just kept flowing. It was gross in general but the fact that there was no place to clean our hands after this unless we bought bottled water from the same careless employee was the icing on the cake. This is probably the least interesting putt putt golf course I've ever played but its the only putt putt in the city. They do have some nice New Orleans specific learning information and icons for kiddos. I just like my putt putt with more crazy stuff like whirling windmills and other such obstacles. They have a few interesting water hazards and a few trick shots you can attempt but most of the holes are pretty basic. I wanted the Mr. Bingle and other figures to be part of the actual course play and not just static decorations. read more

When I heard City park was constructing a mini galf course I was excited and nostalgic at the same time. I remember playing Putt Putt out on Veterans Blvd oh so many times in high school and college with my friend Jim. The tip was that most holes broke toward Vets. And there was Hopper's next door for a great milkshake after 72 "grueling" holes of Putt Putt. Going even further back, in the 60's my mom and dad used to take me to the mini golf course on 17th Street at Causeway right across from what was then the new Lakeside Shopping Center. The mini golf course there had the traditional obstructions : a windmill, clown, and of course a water hazard.There was also a "super slide" in the complex, a giant red and white 3 or 4 hump multi lane slide like the one at the Carousel Amusements in City Park. You were given a burlap sack by the attendant, climbed the steps and then down the slide. My sister and I always raced to see who could get down first. I finally made it out to City Putt and was excited to check it out. My experience was mostly positive. Both courses are very well laid out and nicely landscaped. And the complex is in great shape though, admittedly, it's still pretty new. I liked the new Orleans and Louisiana themes of the courses and the historical markers at the tees. And like my friend Cyn B., I totally dug the Mr. Bingle hole being a Bingle freak from way back. And the pricing was not so bad - $8 for the first round and $4 for the second which is a nice price break. My only gripe is the design of the holes themselves. There just didn't seem to be any thought given to how to play the holes. Even if you hit a putt that seemed like it should be rewarded, it wasn't. This was mostly due to the irregular borders. The edging in mini golf is supposed to be designed to assist a well placed ball to the hole, like cushions on a pool table. But the borders often penalized a good shot. Very frustrating. Oh well. I guess I'm too competitive. I still had fun and can't wait to go back. read more

Five stars for opting with New Orleans and Louisiana theme based courses. We did the New Orleans hole, of course. Each hole named after a historical figure. A placard is provided with brief details. LOVED the giant Mr. Bingle!!!! That brings back fond memories of Masion Blanche department store. *le sigh* Two stars for poorly thought out and built courses. It makes me wonder who they consulted on this City Park addition. The courses are lined with brick with no mortar which I get but aesthetically it looks cheap. Like a bunch of children grabbed a bunch of bricks to make boarders for their homemade course in grandma's backyard. The water feature hole for the NOLA course is next to impossible. It's a good thing there is a bench and umbrella there because no one could get the ball where it needed to go. Almost everyone's ball went off course due to the layout. If's its summertime, go in the evening or night. I almost passed out. Yes, it wasn't smart going in the afternoon. They had misters, but there aren't enough. They should have splurged on the landscaping. Spending a little more for more mature trees would make a world of difference to not only the aesthetic, but for the shade they would have provided. The price of $8 is a little high to play a kids game but the courses are beautiful and in the heat they have a great misting system that cools you down as you play. Bring your own water or drinks because there is none for free here and if you have to buy some the park will hit you in the wallet. I had a really great time at City Putt. It's a great place to take the family, go on a date, hang with your buddies, and have a good time. There are 2 courses and you pay $8 for entrance and club/ball rental. The last hole on the course takes the ball, so if you're trying to do both don't do the last hole. Beer prices are really reasonable. Nothing quite as good as drinking a cold one at putt putt. One of my favorite past times when I go on vacation to Destin is playing a game of putt-putt. I'm assuming it's because we never had one here. But guess what? NOW WE DO! The Louisiana and NOLA themed courses are simple and cute. It's a great alternative to going to a bar, something different and fun! And what better place to have City Putt than City Park itself! The setting of these putt putt courses is great, and I hope it will increase the likelihood out of town guests get to City Park. I also found the information signs on each hole to be unique and definitely great for tourists who may not know much about the city. Prices are decent, and staff members are friendly. That being said, I wish the actual course was a bit more diverse in terms of incorporation of obstacles. The course definitely was not easy (or maybe I'm just truly terrible at putt putt), but it could have been more creative, tricky, and challenging.
