Before I get into this one, I should point out that I didn't actually experience it for myself and…read morewas instead more of a casual observer since I was visiting down South and on one of the drive around days with my father, we paid a visit to the Shark Wake Park section of the massive Sports Complex. Upon arrival you will notice that there is a sizable parking lot for those who are here for this section only and also bathrooms which is always a plus. There is a small hut where folks check in and purchase the package they wish to experience and its usually slots of time that can be long or short. There is a nice lake with several obstacles set up for patrons to climb up and jump off of into the lake and there is even a part that will pull you around the lake on a cable that was attached to some kind of track . That looked like fun but its clearly for a certain level of adventurer. The area looked clean and kept up and there are plenty of trees to hide under when the sun is blazing up above you. This will be important for those that aren't enjoying the water. Now while I am doing this after not trying and was just an observer, I can admit that I don't think that I ever had any interest in visiting a water park. An amusement park with a couple of water attractions are fine but not one that is dedicated to it in full. I think this is a great idea for any visitors to the region with kids of a certain age to give them something to do for a few hours so if you're heading down there do check their prices and then hit one of the many awesome buffets that MB offers.

Fun in the sun. Definitely felt like a kid again while visiting this water park. Such a great place…read moreto be with the hot humid summers of South Carolina. The price point is not bad for all they offer in fun. Everything from a wave pool, surf tide pool, lazy river and water slides for all ages! They have plenty of places to lay out in the sun or catch some shade either in a Ramada or under an umbrella. Not to mention the lockers and gift shop to pick up anything you feel you need during your visits from bathing suits to towels to flip flops or water shoes. We rode the big enclosed water slides first and it was intense! The "toilet bowl" slide was fun and entertaining g if you wish to ride single or double tubes. Plenty of places to choose from for a icee, cold drink or food including alcohol for adults. Only knock is the bath and changing rooms. They were a bit dirty and do not recommend walking barefoot in there as the floor probably had a ton of bacteria and also noticed standing urine in the showers stalls.

I share the same sentiment as another reviewer .. DEFINITELY check Groupon before buying tickets at…read morethe park. $60 is way more appropriate than $100 for this. When we went on Monday the flow rider ride was closed due to maintenance. Not all of the slides in each area were operating. The wave pool was okay but nothing crazy about it. The lazy river is lazy in design for sure there's no extra anything asking it. No waterfall, sprinklers or nothing so in the heat it is super hot and pure sun. Bathrooms were dirty. Please please please take water shoes or some crocs or something to walk around in on a sunny day bc you will burn your feet.

If I could give this place a zero star I definitely would. Everything about it was terrible from…read morethe really tight parking that you have to pay for. The staff there was not one single person that we ran into that was nice not a single one everyone was grumpy and upset and rude especially in the arcade. The girl they have working the ticket booth was swearing while she was on the phone with her friend while she was working. Do not get the refillable cups because that machine doesn't work most of the time and when you ask them to fill it up because that one's not working they get really grumpy with you. The room was very outdated we were in building one and it was like going back in time. Just came from the breakers so we should have stayed there we will never go back here. The stains on the couch and the fact that there is no outlets besides underneath the very short nightstand. The door to the balcony feels like it's going to fall apart. The bathroom is very strange you cannot really close to the door unless you're like in the bathtub. Now let's get to the pools again these people are very rude. The fact that you have to walk all the way over to get the towels and then bring them back where they're going to charge you $5 even though you don't get to really dry off is crazy now I know why people brought their towels. The boys did enjoy the water slide however we did not enjoy all the little puddles to get into the water park it just felt like something wasn't draining correctly so you're stepping into gross water. The pools were okay, it's a lot of trying to figure out where to go and what is a hot tub and what is not? The lazy river is very shallow and I know you have to be in a tube and that's fine but I don't like to lay in a tube I just like to like float in a tube while being in it but I couldn't do that because I'm too tall. I mean the elevators took forever there wasn't one thing we liked about this hotel. Arcade is a complete rip off, I would never be back! Please avoid

First off, this resort nickel-and-dimes you at every turn. It's the first resort I've ever stayed…read moreat where I had to pay to park. Then there's a $40 incidental fee or a $250.00 hold on my credit card, which could take up to 7 days to remove. The elevators in the second tower are just disgusting with all the construction going on. The view from my oceanfront balcony room is two ropes hanging from above, and there's orange fencing and cones everywhere below near the pools. To top it all off, the lady at the front desk had a nasty attitude. There are many other nicer and friendlier resorts in Myrtle Beach- I suggest trying one of those. This will be our last trip to Crown Reef.

Very hard review due to the mixed feelings I have about this place. My first impression was over…read morethe phone when I asked about check in time I was told it is 3pm and if you want to check in before it is an additional 25 dollar fee, seriously? yes even if the site is available, ok so what do I do if my GPS takes me there and arrive at 2:40 and she said you still have to pay the 25 dollar fee or you can wait at a nearby Walmart. Gave me the impression that is not a customer friendly campground. I wasn't given the discount because I didn't ask for it, no refunds after the site has been reserved, no credits either. Upon arrival we were waiting to be checked in behind a Class A rig by the gate house and due to the size of the Class A I could not read the tiny sign indicating that if there was nobody at the gate to come inside, finally when that rig moved I realized I had to go inside, another 5 or six minutes wasted after 3pm no big deal but it adds up to my initial disconformity. The place is huge! I have never been to a campground with over 1000 sites not one hundred but one thousand! Very hard water but that is not their fault, city water. Got to our site and it looks ok but but but it is not concrete and it is not gravel, it is a combination of dirt sand and leaves. That tells me the site may have been vacant for several days and the 25 dollar fee is not even justified because I am not rushing employees to clean up the site that just became available the day of my arrival. Dirt and sand, no problem as long as there is no rain because I brought my 14 X 14 rug but guess what it rained all day the day before our departure and it was a bit of a mess even if we take our shoes off inside the coach. We didn't partake in any of the amenities available like the water park and the corn hole etc because of the convention we were attending here and BTW the facility we were given was very nice to accommodate about 80 plus of us. I take one star for the fact that my site wasn't quite level and for the dirt, it is not even gravel for goodness sake. I wouldn't call it a resort unless every site was concrete Would I come back? Yes just because the beach right there a few feet from the sites that are closest to the Information Center where we gather every day for our conference. It turns out they give a discount but they won't offer it to you unless you ASK for it and because I didn't ask at the time I booked they refused to refund because it is run by a corporation with dozens and tens of dozens of employees. Inclined to take two stars but because I had a great time with our new friends at the convention I am leaving this place very happy and wishing to come back when it is not raining ALL DAY with a bloody mess on my shoes with all the dirt and sand. Water park inside for the youngins but the dirt and sand prevents me from calling a five star resort but a four star campground

But not our idea of family friendly - yes there are lots of things to do like beach, Putt/putt and arcade (extra $) but for relaxing, walking or riding bikes it's terrible due to heavy traffic of constant golf carts and vehicles. If you don't bring your own fire ring you have to rent one if you want a campfire. Almost all sites are dirt/gravel and they are super close on all sides.
