To get into the shelter I got this response they asked if I was on drugs cause apparently I am homeless cause I must have not paid my rent, or I am on drugs, well no I dont do them dont even smoke cigarettes I lived in my place for 10 yrs had to leave property was sold and its jus me 43 yrs old female with no kids. So that's a double situation for me. I don't have an issue with pple getting help or having a family they need to take care of but what category since that's what she told me do I fit into? no category so I couldn't get help. So me as a person never been on the streets in my life live in my car scared every night, yet where is the help for pple like me? What category do I fit into according to mayor Coogan and the city council??? All these festivals all these things but again where does a never evicted person, a non drug user, no kids, no pets, don't smoke where do pple like me fit...ohhh thats right I'm not relevant pple like me are not relevant. I can't take it and I won't and thats pretty close. Who will be responsible for that? I have reached out for help I've called useless numbers catholic services no help for me Elliot path no funding so when I am no longer who could have prevented that?? I went to this post office several times over the course of a year. It was fine. I mainly mailed…read morestuff from outside, but every once in awhile I had to go inside, either to mail a package, or occasionally because I had an issue with a package that I didn't get or something like that. It was fine, the staff were friendly and helpful enough (not overly so, though). There was often a line to get help from the window, but the staff were pretty timely - I never felt my wait was longer than appropriate for the number of people ahead of me. This post office is on the small side - there is a sizeable area for PO boxes, but I'd say the inside area where the front counter is is actually pretty small. Also, the parking lot is really awkward and for a bunch of the parking spaces you are often backing out into the path of traffic who are entering the lot. For me this often adds stress to the visit, but the convenience(for me) of the location led me to use this post office exclusively, instead of the others in town.

Yesterday, I had to speak to someone at the Attleboro SSA office in person due to an…read moreadministrative error. Apparently, stating in a very ordinary voice "this document says page 1 of 2" was a personal criticism of the representative, who also told me she was ' just covering lunch' and 'all she was hearing was no from me.' I had already called the local number and explained the situation (the call was routed to Providence) and that representative seemed to understand the 2 issues I had almost immediately and advised me to go in person and tell that office 2 very specific things to remedy the issues. The representative at the office was rude and unwilling to listen to anything I had to say---including that the Payment Office had not yet processed and adjustment that the local office had already made a year and a half earlier. She saw that there was an adjustment, and when I tried to explain that that was a different adjustment and not what I was referring to, I again heard 'there you go saying no again.' Previously, I had to meet with someone for a Conference and that person (whose name is absolutely logged into their system) handed me a document to complete and leave on the desk for further review. Wendy, the representative yesterday, essentially told me that this didn't happen since it was not part of the conference process and that no such document was scanned into my file. I can understand that someone may have made an error (of which there have been many), but to essentially tell me that what I reported didn't happen was next level. No actual assistance was given, other than handing me a form and again, rudeness when I asked about the process. She also stated that SSA could not tell anyone which form to complete, which is of course absurd. Then I was told she'd spent a half hour with me, she had a meeting and "you have a good day." Obviously, I need to find another method of resolving my issue, which is the entire point of the local office's existence. I am still shocked at the awfulness of this interaction. It was absolutely insane.

DO NOT STAY HERE: I stayed at the lighthouse for one night. That amounted to $600, and that's with…read morehaving to wait two years for my stay. The lighthouse itself was fine. If you can get around the bugs and the dust and being stranded for 24 hours in the middle of the ocean, you may enjoy yourself. My primary concern is the lack of safety aboard the lighthouse and the lack of care for same. At 7:30 in the morning, a strange man rolled up next to the lighthouse so close as if he was going to tie. I informed the owner, Kevin, that this happened and his response was, " Oh, probably just a fisherman. I have no control over who comes up to the lighthouse because it's public waters." I am a young female, who was staying completely alone. No locks on the doors or windows, including the bathroom door, and this is in Fall River - one of the most dangerous cities in Massachusetts. Days after my stay, the owner decided to contact me and chew me out for not giving a $50 tip. I have no idea where $50 came into play. I would never tip anyone $50 even if they cleaned my entire bathroom with their tongue. But he kept insisting that I owed him $50 for a tip and also calling it a "fee". I have worked in hospitality and tourism for the last five years, and I have never expected, chased a guest for, or been angry about not receiving a tip. I've also never stipulated the amount I was to be tipped. I found the owner wildly unprofessional, rude, and money hungry. He was not at all concerned about the safety of me or other guests for that matter. I would consider myself to be a pretty good guest. I cleaned up after myself and I even did a little extra cleaning for them, since the lighthouse really needed it. But I was met with nasty text messages days after my departure about a $50 tip that they felt entitled to. I'd also like to mention that I'm a cancer patient in my 20's and this is a grown man who makes at least $600 a night per guest and he still had the nerve to try something like this.

It also has solar electricity and indoor heat. There is a bathroom with an eco-friendly vanity & toilet but there is no shower. There is one queen size mattress, a sofa & chairs with a flat screen TV & DVD. You will also find an outdoor propane BBQ that you can cook on as well. You are allowed to bring alcohol, there is NO swimming and no smoking. Check it out!
