Hidden Gem! I absolutely love this place! So tranquil so peaceful! Truly an unexpected but delightful experience. I had driven right by this place numerous times. I always admired the beautiful plants from the road so had a little extra time so decided I would stop in. At first parking was a little tricky to figure out, but a friend employee came out and kindly directed me to where I could park. From the outside, you would not expect the shop to be as large as it is but there's both an indoor and outdoor space. All the plants and flowers are maintained beautifully. There's a good variety of everything. The aroma that the plants and flowers were giving off was very fragrant. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. My mom did buy a few plants. The price point was ok, a little higher than competitors but if you are in the area and are looking for well maintained plants and flowers in a tranquil environment then this is definitely the place for you! read more

Every few months, I stop by and visit City Oasis to check out the inventory, see the seasonal offerings. There's always a wide, unique selection of plants and beautiful items to look at. The staff are friendly and kind. There's a guy (likely the owner) who has given me deals and discounts on certain things. At times, plants can be a bit overpriced, but it hasn't stopped me from viewing these plants from time to time and making purchases. I think this is a great shop! read more

Plants are my addiction and relaxes me. I pass by this lovely place everyday because of work. It is quite difficult to not stop and take a look. The prices are great! Of course they also have some rare finds that can be costly. But they also have so many other reasonably priced options. When I visit there's always someone there asking if I need assistance or questions. They make great suggestions and seem very knowledgeable! Majority of the plants have purchased have done well. I'm now into Hoyas, but do not have much of them. The two I've purchased, one didn't make it, but hey it happens. Quick tip: They have non blooming orchids for adiscounted price in the back. Great to get, mount on a tree or something, then be surprised by what color when it finally blooms-- seems to be mostly whites in my experience :) read more

A gem in the area. Plenty of orchids and tropicals for sale. The orchids are primarily hybrids and cultivars, few species. Lots of rare aroids, other tropicals, and even a few rare cacti and succulents. The staff present were helpful and friendly. The prices for most orchids range from 20 - 75 dollars. The primary issue I found was that many of the orchids are potted in highly compacted coconut husk chips and/or Sphagnum. Thus, it would be best to repot any purchased orchids into a looser mix to avoid rot. read more

This quarantine thing has really made a lot of folks get into the housplant and landscaping game. City Oasis is the perfect name for this plant haven. I've driven by this place countless times while headed to my favorite eatery and drinkery in the awesome Mills50 area. But this has become one of my favorite local plant shops. It is jam packed with plants! Outside entrance area you will find tons of orchids and succulents. Inside they have a huge collection of calatheas or prayer plants. There is a shaded outdoor area that have all kinds of variegated ficus, huge trailing plants, and all kinds of philodendrons. If you are looking for a certain wishlist plant, just ask them! Variegated hoya hindu rope, string of hearts, rare alocasias may be kept in the back for the more peculiar shopper. I got a huge raphidophera tetrasperma or mini monstera spilling out of the pot here! The price was half of what you would see at online sellers and twice the size. It is a great place to get plant inspo. The workers are friendly and knowledgeable about the type of plants and plant care required. read more

I've driven passed this place countless times but never stopped. I was looking for something in particular and someone off a Facebook group that I'm in recommended city oasis. I stopped in really quickly. I had a very short amount of time. But I loved this place! I found what I was looking for and so much more. First off, idk how they do it but their orchids are so beyond beautiful. They have bonsai, Hoyas, rare plants, indoor, outdoor and so much more. I ended up buying the large scindapsus exotica and I also got a philodendron micans. So many things to choose from. Lots of plants and extremely friendly service! They had a great selection of plants indoors and outdoors. The prices are higher than going to Lowe's or Home Depot but fair based on what they were. Also, support local businesses! My friend was looking for a lipstick plant as they had posted they had some the week before. We walked around everywhere and couldn't find it. Alex must have noticed our unsuccessful browsing and was quick to offer help. He looked all around too and finally found some in the back and let us in so she could pick her favorite one. Alex was so nice, patient and helpful in telling us about different plants and the kind of love and care they need. He had such a good attitude and you can tell that he really loves working here. I spotted this place from across the street while eating a massive brownie with peanut butter ice cream. As I sat there consuming my fatty goodness, I thought "Hmmm...I believe a plant will enhance this experience of indulging myself." So, after my treat, I went across the street for another treat. Boy oh boy, was there a treat waiting for me! I doggie at the front door, greeting customers! I knew I was in the right place. Not knowing a lot about "exotic", or what I call "exotic" plants, I took my time looking around for something I couldn't murder. During this time, I had puppy dog company (which I LOVED) and two ladies, who worked there, casually conversing with me about plants. After chatting and looking through all the very pretty things (bonsai, orchids, other plants I don't know the names of), I settled on a tiny air plant. Its what I could handle. You just dip it in water a couple of times a week and I'm in love with it. I also found an adorable ceramic elephant container for it. It now lives in my kitchen window with a couple of other plants that easy to keep alive. For both items, tiny plant and tiny planter, it was about $25.00 My first thought was, "wow, this was kind of expensive" ... then I was like, "wow, I got really great customer service, I'm supporting a small business AND I met one of the cutest-coolest doggies in the world." I was able to find a lovely whale fin plant for our apartment and plan to go back from a Hindu rope and raven zz! They also have an extensive collection rare variegated plants and pre bonsai plants. Absolutely beautiful place! The orchids, bonsai and succulents are all gorgeous. The owners are very friendly and you can see their passion when they speak about the plants and see them prepare the floral arrangements. The flowers are beautiful and healthy. I went for the first time in a while and the new orchids are even more beautiful than the last time. The plants are healthy and vibrant. The prices were surprisingly good considering the specialty items carried in the store. I enjoyed taking my time looking in every corner and not being pressured to purchase something by the employees. There is also an outside area with more plants. I highly recommend! We kept driving by the Orchid & Bonsai store on mills intending to stop. Finally stopped today when I saw them open today. The shop is far larger than it appears from the street. It has an amazing selection of plants, not just orchids and bonsai. However, the orchids were amazing. We bought a vanilla bean orchid that we've been looking for and a trick or treat orchid which was a beautiful orange color. Orchids are not as difficult to raise in Florida as people think. We have came here many times and she has this horrible attitude and looks at you like you're not wanted there. If I owned this place, I would fire her because of her they lost us as customers and telling all my friends to not come here EVER! I sought out a place to repot my aloe plant. It was extremely overgrown and I was having difficulties figuring out how to do it myself (having never done a repotting before). I called around a few places, and found this place, which I was excited about because it was locally owned. I called and asked them how much to repot an overgrown 12 inch aloe plant and they told me not that much, it wouldn't be anything crazy, at most $10. I received a call a few hours later saying the repotting of this plant would now cost SIXTY DOLLARS! I was floored. I brought my own pots, and the justification was because they had to make their own soil. I was appalled because no other place quoted me more than $15 and I would have gone there had I known this place would pull a good old fashioned bait-and-switch. I asked what could be done to bring the price down, and we agreed on $45 (which is still OUTRAGEOUS for ONE PLANT). When I got there, NOPE! Price is now $58. I had to pay that outrageous cost to get back my plant back. Now for the icing on the cake: I had to repot another aloe plant I had bought at the same time. I did it myself with soil bought from Home Depot. All of the aloes are in the same spot and receive the same amount of sunlight and water. A month and a half later, the aloes I repotted myself are doing fine and healthy and growing. The two I paid for are now brown, covered in black spots, and on the verge of dying. I wasn't even going to write a review until I saw how bad of shape they were after spending $60. I will NEVER return here and I will HIGHLY encourage all my friends to never patronize this business either. -10 out of 10 stars. read more

I had amazing conversation with one and she showed genuine interest in my aroid collection. And a little Oasis it is. Even though this botanical shop sits directly under a very large billboard, it still seems to have a majestic quality surrounding it; mostly in part because the sell rare and exotic plants and flowers. They also do landscape design and consultation if your lawn or garden needs some sprucing up. When you approach the store, it's impossible not to stop and gaze at the plants that are displayed in front. They are simple and yet very attractive. I do not have a botany degree thus I have no idea what their names were but I can tell you that they were pricey. Most ranged from $60-$80 and were not large by any means. The orchids were absolutely lovely and unfortunately are sold without the pots that they are displayed in. I was not impressed by the chain link fence that encased the small shop. I would guess though that it's a necessity in order to protect their rare merchandise when the store is closed. It just seemed to take away from the charm the store possessed. To the right of the main building is an alley filled with larger plants such as palm trees. They also had common autumn flowers, mums, for sale as we approach the Thanksgiving holiday season. Overall, I thought it was a superb place worth visiting at least once. And if your mother loves Orchids as much as mine does, this place will be on your list too when she comes to visit next! read more

I did research before I went to select a bonsai tree; but it's still my first one, so it was nice to have someone knowledgeable helping. The female assisting me told me how to care for the tree and took the time to go over each type and what care they would require. Very beautiful plants, orchids and specialty plants. I know I will go back both for a hanging terrarium and an orchid. Everything was full and healthy. The prices were comparable to online, not to mention it's the type of place you can call if you have questions or need help. It's not just an online non-personable shop. I have come to City Oasis before. But NEVER HAVE I SEEN WHAT I DID TODAY. The owner WIFE was making fun of a BLIND MAN. The gentleman was looking for the eye doctor next store, he had a appointment. So he came in by mistake and her and her staff were laughing and making fun of the guy for coming to the wrong place.. They then preceded to give him directions as if he could see. This is incredibly RUDE. I will never go to them again..I had a handful of plants and I put them down and walked out. They price gouge and their plants have bugs. I had to return plants I bought before and they were 100$ plants. This is incredibly RUDE, please beware of this establishment and the people you shop from! read more

i usually don't have a problem with any plant shop i go to, i stayed at the nursery for about an hour and talked with the workers over their rare plant selection. i finally decided on what i believed to be a verucosum, once i drove the two hour trip home i realized it is an el choco. I could've found this plant for around $60 when i paid $185 for what was labeled and i was told a verucosum. i understand the owner wasn't in the store at the time but that's ridiculous, i dmmed them on instagram and they didn't respond until i texted them about not responding to me while they were posting pictures and on their story. Not saying they were trying to ignore me but who knows. Not a great way to spend my weekend and money :( I've reached out to them and they told me i could get $60 credit or drive the plant back, just another disappointment read more
