Called the place, no one answered. Decided to check out their website to see if they accept walk-ins. Sure enough says in bold print they accept walk-ins. Made the 40 minute drive to check them out. The place was not busy at all, no one was in the waiting area two barbers one man and one woman both working on two customers. Was told we don't have anything in our schedule for today... I said I thought you accepted walk-ins and explained how I made the drive based off what was written on their website. They said we do just not today.... Horrible customer experience. Spent about 5 minutes and found a much more inviting place that accepted walk-ins despite being busy in the area. read more

Just went here for the first time. My wife goes next door to the wax center and one night I was playing with my 2 year old outside and the employees came out and was super friendly when they were closing. That just made me want to try them out and I did today. Chris cut my hair, did see all his reviews and was excited that I walked in and he was ready for me. They even open at 7 am on Saturdays which is a huge plus for me, atmosphere was great where I wouldn't mind bringing my daughters to come in and wait for me, and I liked the professionalism. This is the one and only barber shop I go to, not just because it's the closest one to me, it's just awesome! The atmosphere is chill and everyone is nice. They recently remodeled the store and everything looks modern and still masculine enough to be a barber shop. They got a new nice size flat screen TV to watch while you wait or you can use the standard reading materials. I see Chris every time I go and he knows how I like my hair cut and he's extremely personable. He even goes out of his way and shaves your sideburns with a straight razor and even takes care of that unwanted back neck hair. All the barbers there are great! If Chris was on vacation I would have no qualms about seeing any of the other barbers. The only downside to this barber shop is that it has gained a lot of popularity and , for that it has become very busy, especially on the weekends but it's very worth the wait. Once in a while I've had no wait at all, but that's just timing To avoid some of the wait, it's best to go midweek. This is a cash only business so make sure you bring some with you. read more

I've been going to G& S for 24 years. They've never let me down. They are very accommodating and good at what they do. The barbers stay around for a long time so if you get a particular person you like chances are your set and they will always remember you. The place is also very clean. I went there a couple of times then I started to notice that the quietly started to go down hill they dont clean the equipment . Best barber shop I've been to. My mom is a hair stylist, so I grew up with free and great hair cuts my whole life. She moved a few years ago, and I seemed to never find a place that cut my hair as well. Then I found G & S, andChris just gave me a great cut every single time. He listened and asked exact what I wanted, and eventually knew how I wanted my hair. I've moved out of Wayne since, and still can't find anyone as good. I get a solid hair cut every time. Anthony is my barber of choice and never dissapoints. The hot lather neck shave is a nice added touch. Good quality haircuts at a reasonable price. Would definitely recommend. Maybe I'll pamper myself with the straight razor shave next time. read more

We used to take our boys to a large discount chain, we discovered G & S and for just a few dollars more the difference in cut is tremendous. My husband went to a salon called unisex, but mostly women and was never happy. He loves the hot towels and now always loves his cut at G&S. I've been going to G&S for years now with my son and we always see Chris (who now owns the business, yippee!). Chris always listens to how I want it cut and is always patient with my son. They are always busy (which is always great to see!) so we are able to sign in and get in ASAP. Many times I run to the car to grab a different toy (as we know toddlers can be finicky) or run next door for coffee but I always have my spot in line, so they are all very kind (and fair) in doing so in my short absences. All in all, all of the barbers are very sweet and kind there and do great jobs! I recommend G&S to anyone and everyone who asks where we go for our cuts. read more

Looking for a new barber I like to see how a barber handles a shape up/neck clean before I let then cut my hair. I asked to have my neck cleaned and she did a decent job but I was charged a full haircut price. I would've been OK with that if I was informed that the price for a shape up is the same as a full cut. RIP OFF! Now I'm on the hunt for a good local barber. read more

Great barber shop! I've had 2-3 haircuts with Chris and one with Anthony. Very friendly and personable. The shop is clean, nicely decorated. They give a great haircut, meticulous and thorough. They look at you from every angle and make sure your hair is the way you like it. At the end, they shave side burns and neck with straight razor, if you'd like, which is a nice finishing touch. Price is very reasonable, lower than most barbers and salons in the area for such a high quality haircut. Great value. I'm definitely going back to use all the barbers here. read more

This is by far the best barber shop I have been to in North Jersey. I have relocated to Philadelphia, but I will always come home to get my hair cuts here. Chris is my barber and he will give you the perfect hair cut. He will take requests and will give you exactly what you want, especially if you have some visual representation of the hair cut you have in mind. Chris straightens everything out and cuts everything evenly. This is great because if you cut your hair short, it will grow out evenly so you don t have to go back and get touch ups. I'm sure you'll get great treatment no matter who's chair you sit in, but Cherie is the only one who's ever cut my hair at G&S, she's awesome, and I always leave the shop way more handsome than when I entered.
