I forgot to review this awesome venue, from our wedding last December! I found The Loft on Yelp, I…read morehad never been. We decided to check it out for a possible wedding venue. I messaged on here and quickly had an appointment to come see the venue! We walked in and my husband said, "I think this is the place it just is so fitting for us." We did a walk through and fell in love with the venue, location and the fact that we had pretty much free rein over what details we wanted. We booked the venue for December 2018! We picked out a caterer, Baker, one of their preferred DJs, we did our our cocktail hour, one of their preferred bartenders, and Uriah as our photographer! The day of was so perfect for me. I picked out decor, table setting stuff, and all of that extra stuff and the people decorating just really made it look more beautiful than I had ever imagined. It was perfect. Even with a few hiccups, the crew just went with it and made it such a beautiful day. I so highly recommend this venue! Especially so you can have that personal touch on everything!

The staff set up and transformed it into a magical space for socializing, eating and drinking, dancing, and all the other wedding activities! They were very, very accommodating and responsive. They took so much stress off my plate by setting up the reception and decorating tables for me. They also took care of little details on the day of (like setting up the guest book) and ushered the whole day to go smoothly. I know weddings always have something go wrong, but my dream wedding went so smoothly thanks to Community Congregational. The venue is beautiful, and it was a dream to be married there!

That's all I needed to know to agree to the service. I was pleasantly surprised by the architecture of this little gem. Immediately upon arrival all I could see was the illuminated stained windows and stonework. Upon entering the ceilings' beams were the first thing I noticed, this is truly a wonderful little gem in the heart of Manitou. It was wonderful not only to hear the wonderful music and songs floating thru the nave, but it was also a feast for the eyes. The candle light song at the end was especially suggestive as it gave me a good sense of what this church must have truly looked and felt when it was first built in the late 1800's.

David warmly greeted us and seated us and checked in on us throughout the evening. He was gentle and attentive and we really appreciated him. Our serve was Tyler L and he was also fantastic- warm and kind and on top of things- great personality. We ended up in a little room all to ourselves, which was really nice. We were surprised it wasn't more crowded but we did get reservations for 5:15 and most people probably like to eat a little later. :) We were there for two hours which was nice and slow but pretty well paced. It's a really pretty place! It was also really clean for such an older building. I want to read up on its history. The menu changes regularly and is not up to date online. There were about five options for each course. I enjoyed my berry mimosa and my husband enjoyed his wine. We also accidentally got a lavender lemonade cocktail which my husband thought was very good too. There was an amuse bouche of a tiny caprese salad. Then we got our soups- they were the perfect temperature but my tomato bisque was too salty for my taste. My husband really liked his lobster bisque. When David noticed I didn't finish my soup he asked if I wanted to try something else- what? I have never heard that before- I said no thank you because I was surprised but I thought that was really thoughtful. There was a three cheese bread and a ciabatta bread and they were warm and came with a pretty slice of wildflower butter! We then got an "intermezzo" of lemon sorbet to "cleanse our palates" which was very tart and also just felt so fancy. My main dish was beef bourguignon and it came out with a flower on the plate- it was gorgeous. I was surprised that it was just meat and not stew but I absolutely loved it- incredible flavor and super tender- wow. It was served over a smashed yellow potato with a side of some kind of squashes. My husband got the land and sea entree and it was shrimp and elk loin with a blueberry sauce which he thought was delicious. He also had the squashes and yellow potato too. Our desserts took quite a while to come out- mine was creme brûlée which was very yummy but a very small portion under the crispy shell. It was served on a chilled slab that said "Happy Birthday" on it! My husband got the cheesecake which had lots of little flowers on it- very pretty and he thought it tasted great. This is the most expensive restaurant I think I've ever been to- I was kind of shocked at the prices. But it's a truly lovely place and a really lovely experience with beautiful and delicious food and excellent service. It would be wonderful for a special occasion!

This visit brought me in for Mother's day brunch and it's evident that the establishment is under some major construction but this didn't deter from our feast. It seems the hotel could use some repairs and touch ups and so it's good to see that is underway. The buffet provided a wide variety of options from omelette station, breakfast items, seafood options, prime rib carving station, loads of sides, salad bar and more. My favorites were the au gratin potatoes, Brussel sprouts, and Mac & cheese. The dessert options were very limited as most items had run out and weren't refilled, but I was too full to care. Service seemed a little curt, but was sufficient. I don't think I would ever make a true judgement of a dining establishment based on a buffet experience so I'll have to go back for a regular service to truly explore what the Cliffhouse has to offer these days. Hopefully it is full of excellence as it once was. I'll be back.....

Cliff House at Pikes Peak - Thanksgiving "Buffet" 2025…read more We booked the Cliff House Thanksgiving dinner buffet for our family of five and paid around $500, expecting a special holiday meal in a beautiful setting. Unfortunately, it was one of the most disappointing dining experiences we've ever had. The "buffet" was set up in a small, cramped room, and the food quality was shockingly bad for the price. The turkey was clearly pressed turkey, not carved from an actual bird. There was no salad station, no green beans, no yams--none of the traditional Thanksgiving sides you would reasonably expect. Most of what was there tasted like it came out of a can or had been previously frozen, and everything was salted to within an inch of its life. They also mixed in brunch items, but those were just as bad. There was a silver bin of waffles that were so hard I could barely cut them. There was a single platter of fruit, and many of the other buffet options were picked over and lukewarm. Staff were slow to replenish trays or bring out anything fresh or hot, so what we saw was what we got--and it wasn't good. For the amount we paid, this Thanksgiving dinner was a total embarrassment. We ended up leaving a lot of food uneaten because it simply wasn't edible. I would not recommend the Cliff House Thanksgiving buffet to anyone, and we will not be returning for future holidays. We came back to our hotel, which was in Colorado Springs and called the Doubletree Hilton, and told the front office staff how disappointed we were in this very expensive Thanksgiving dinner at the cliff house. They told us that their kitchen is selling a Thanksgiving dinner for $25 a plate and would we like to try that. They said it was pretty good. We thought what the heck because all of us were still hungry. The Thanksgiving dinner that the Doubletree Hilton in Colorado Springs provided was one of the best Thanksgiving meals I've had in a long time. Huge portions, very tasty food, real pieces of turkey straight from the turkey, not pressed, and a third of the price. They literally put the cliff house to shame. Let me put it this way the Cliff house Thanksgiving buffet would have to move up about 10 steps before they were even as good as golden corral.

Jenny kept a meticulous list of what needed to go out and I walked past Israel and our server Jaxon packing things up at the end. While I only spoke to our bartender Dan once throughout the night (bride perks), I was approached by multiple of my guests who informed me that he was amazing and cheerful and one of their favorite parts of the night. I was highly impressed with our chefs John and Tristan's willingness to be flexible and accommodating to guests with dietary restrictions, even going so far as to create a special off menu dish for a particularly restricted guest. Our day was beautiful and we were very satisfied with the help we received along the way from Kayla, Natalie, and Katrina as well during the planning phase!
