Buyer Beware.....We recently purchased 2-fireplaces from Fireside Hearth and Home for our new…read moreconstruction home which also included installation. They came and delivered and partially installed the 2-units. Upon asking several times why the installation wasn't completed, we were told that the final payment is due NOW and they will return later to do the startup (as they call it). No where did I sign a contract stating these terms and there is no reason why they should be paid in full if the installation is not completed. Dan, the owner, was very unprofessional and very difficult to deal with throughout the process. I would not recommend this company.

Since 2019, Minocqua Fireside Hearth and Home (MFHH) serviced our 2 gas fireplaces seven times…read more Spring 2024, one of the fireplaces began to malfunction by popping on, poofing off, and blasting on again for the duration of its operation, no matter how long it was 'on'. MFHH serviced that unit then and we paid the bill in full, but upon using it again in the autumn, the fireplace did the same, scary thing. We called for service on both units, repair and preventative, 10/01, which was scheduled for 11/01. MFHH called to confirm service to both units which was affirmed. Though the tech identified a broken part, he advised that would not repair the malfunctioning unit, nor did he service the other fireplace. Replacement of the part was scheduled for 11/20 which he did. We paid the bill in full but complained the fireplace was still malfunctioning. After the owner came back to town, MFHH attempted to schedule warranty work for 12/27, which we determined to be unreasonable, resolved to find someone else, and asked for refund of half the trip charge, upon which the owner, Dan Massignon, fabricated unacceptable behavior on our part, ludicrous since our behavior was no barrier to scheduling and servicing the gas fireplaces in our home this time, or half a dozen times prior, and only materialized after we realized MFHH was either incapable or unwilling to actually fix the malfunctioning fireplace, fulfill the service request by omitting one fireplace, and by unreasonably delaying warranty service. Unless you like spending money for being defamed, DO NOT USE Minocqua Fireside Hearth and Home!

We have been a customer for decades. Generally good service most of the years but fees and overall…read morecosts climbed much faster than the competition. Decided to change propane companies. It took several calls and being on hold about an hour each time to talk to a person. Even tried chat but that was not much better. After finally getting a hold of a real person I got transferred again. Apparently no one was authorized to cancel service. Finally got to the right person after many hours of frustration and constantly hearing the same recording over and over on how they transferred their customer service to the U.S. to better serve me. By this time the competitor tank I ordered was installed and the 120 gal already rusty used replacement tank AmeriGas delivered several years ago was sitting to the side ready to pickup. I was told it was $443.08 to dispatch a driver and pick up the tank. I was told we agreed to this somewhere in the decades of time we were their customer. They told me no one reads the fine print. Please take a moment to scan many of the other reviews. I have never experienced this poor of service from anyone and a company willing to take total advantage of long term customers. Shameful at best.

They don't even have another appointment at the time of my call but refuse to move the service to a 2 hours later. Refused to call me back and all this because it is more convenient for the plumber possibly but could land my child in the hospital or the morgue. That's how serious his health issue is and the service is no longer an emergency so there's no need to come that quickly at 7am. Coming at 9am won't hurt anyone but coming early could be catastrophic for my child because I need to process his medical devices before he can use them. She hung up on me. Called the landlord who told her to come at 7am because hesnlissed at me he couldn't evict me for having an air mattress. So this is all based on retaliation. Now I have to call the lice to stall on the AM so that my son can survive the night. contacted my son's lawyer as well. We have had to get a lawyer specifically for these types of issues because it's so common place to ignore medical needs for no emergency situations that impose a threat in our home because we are tenants instead of owners.
