Great selection of tasty crepes and French press coffee. Love this place, but beware of their limited hours

What brought me to City Crepes located in downtown Jackson is the fact that they offer vegan options for both their savory and sweet crepes. The decor has a French cafe feel to it with the paintings and pictures of cities around the world. Classical jazz playing in the background gives it an escape to pleasant familiar nostalgia. The service was pleasant and friendly. I ordered the vegan version of the Uptown crepe. It was satisfactory and there was nothing to not like about it. The flat bread, pancake was a little gooey than what I would've expected. It was hard to cut. The price-portion ratio is somewhat reasonable, in other words you get a good portion for what pay for. It's not overly priced. I regret that I didn't choose from the sweet crepes menu. I feel that I would've enjoyed it more...but I can't order two in one day, can I? I will have to try to come back another day. Je reviendrai. read more

City Crepes - Downtown (front), Farmer's market (bckgrd), both wonderful dishes. - Creperies Near Me - Jackson, Michigan

The pizza guy was great! Love the area downtown. The service, food, wait time were perfect. Also the blood orange soda was delicious.

I absolutely love this restaurant and would highly recommend it to everyone. We found street parking easily and came into the restaurant--it was clean, tastefully decorated, and had a number of tables like a cafe. We ordered at the counter and the ladies who work there were so kind, competent and helpful. One person in our party was gluten-free, dairy-free and soy free and was so happy that he could be accommodated and have many choices to pick from. He ordered the vegan gluten free pizza guy and I had the regular pizza guy crepe and they were both delicious. His had a dairy free mozzarella on it. For dessert, he had a vegan gluten-free Lamp Post with banana, vegan Nutella, and dairy-free whipped cream and I had the special Park Bench - Raspberries, Blueberries, and Lemon Custard with whipped cream. We were in heaven! All of the food was SO good. The service was awesome! We are from out of town but we wish we had this restaurant closer to us--we would be regulars! It was amazing! We will be back the next time we are in town. read more

Amazing food and service always extremely nice, I would definitely recommend. The traffic jam is the best.

One of the best additions downtown Jackson has had in a very long time. Amazing food and the ladies that work there are so sweet. Can be busy at times, and prices are a little expensive- both are totally worth it in the end. read more

Interior has a cute metropolitan vibe with a hand drawn menu. Bathroom is small but very clean and decorated nicely. Took a while to get our food, but the kitchen is open to the front and we saw our crepes getting made! People behind the counter are very courteous. Downtown and fire hydrant are highly recommended. read more

Went here while visiting friends who live in Jackson. Wow! These are some big crepes, definitely shareable and definitely worth it! We had the special, the apple cinnamon crepes with bacon and caramel. Perfect combo of sweet and savory. Crepes nice and soft and chewy, not overdone and definitely tons of everything. Thing was stuffed like a George Costanza wallet! They also have great coffee! Enjoy your crepe with a Nutella coffee and chill in the very casual cafe-style dining area read more

City Crepes - Specials on the right are always a good option too. - Creperies Near Me - Jackson, Michigan

Confession: I've never had crepes before today. It seems like, hers at least, the filling is to be to star of the show with a super thin and flaky batter. I got the Farmers Market, one of the only vegetarian options, with mushrooms added. I could be wrong but the mushrooms seemed canned, not the end of the world but I was hoping for a pop of flavor I the pretty basic flavors of spinach, tomato, and Brie. The real highlight of this was the herbs de Provençal. Holy herbs. The meal was bordering on bland but the herbs saved the day. Think I would try a sweet one if I returned, loads of vegetarian options there :) read more

This is a great place to try something new. Best crepes in town and family owned. Variety between savory and sweet.

Ridiculously long wait to receive our small order. The person working there knew nothing about the menu and could not make any recommendations. Staff unfriendly in general. Food was ok but nothing special. Place is very small with no ambiance. read more

I found this gem a few years back when I had to find a place halfway for my mom and I to meet to conduct a doggy babysitting trip. They moved to the ice cream shop next door and they are by far the best crepe I have had in the US, and I have tried multiple! We usually order the main street, which has bacon, tomato, turkey, cream cheese and lettuce. Its delish, I love the way they spread out the ingredients evenly and how they "fold" the crepe. We also have to get a dessert crepe everytime we go, OF COURSE. The fire hydrant is probably my favorite. It has crème fraiche and raspberry jam and homemade whipped crème. All the dessert crepes that are ordered to eat in have the whipped cream. It's to die for! Any time I go to Detroit for work I try to work it out so I can meet my mom halfway and make it to City Crepes before they close. Did I mention they make gluten free crepes? They cost $1 extra and the majority of the crepes cost around $6 and some change. I don't like how you have to buy drinks, even bottled water but hey it's a small business and they need to make a living. I also wish they had different tables and chairs. It's basically patio furniture and not very comfty. The service is quick and efficient and they are always there to help you make a decision on which crepe you want. Trust me, it's not an easy decision. They also have a punch card system. I think every 10 or 12 crepes you buy you get 1 free. Not bad! A must try in Jackson! read more

My favorite place to go when I'm downtown. Every crepe is made to order, so it's worth the wait! I usually get the Main Street, but I have had several others that didn't disappoint. I always add a French Press with French Roast as well, you can get about 4 cups of of a full press. Place is small with bistro tables, but that is part of the charm. read more

I have to say this place would be a 5 Star if the employees would make you feel more welcome. Seems it's inconvenient at times when I call to place a larger order. Even coming in with a order pick up, not friendly at all! It's a shame, it's a lovely little place with great Crepes. read more

We ate here today and found the crepes to be large, full of flavor and delicious. The length of time we spent waiting for our food, however, was not acceptable. We arrived at just after 1:00 pm and waited an hour and ten minutes for our orders. This was after being told that the wait would be 45 minutes. Since we were traveling, this was much too long a wait. We might try them again some time since the food really was good, but if the wait time is similar, it would certainly be a last visit. read more

City Crepe is a small crepe cafe located in downtown Jackson. A great place to stop for either lunch or dessert. Parking: Since this is located downtown there is not a designated parking lot. There is free street parking out front, which is usually available. Additionally, there is a free 2 hour parking lot half a block away. Both are good options. Atmosphere: This cafe is set up like a French cafe with lots of small bistro tables. Lots of couples come here. Not good for groups. Food/Drinks: They have two different categories of crepes: Savory & Sweet. Savory could be more of a lunch option, but sweet would be great for a dessert or a sweet breakfast. I had The Rush Hour which was sweet and tasty. All crepes are made by hand right in front of you. Wait: Since the crepes are made by hand when you order, if there is a long line, you could wait up 30 minutes for your crepes. However, you usually shouldn't have much of a wait and the wait wouldn't deter me from coming back. Overall, a cute spot for a crepe in downtown Jackson. read more

I stopped here with my three and four year old after we read a library book about two dogs who travel to Paris and eat crepes. They have bistro tables, photos of the Eiffel Tower and French music playing. My daughter asked if we were in Paris. The crepes were really good. We went here twice so far and we always get out with happy tummy! They have many choices for savory and sweet crêpes and honestly it always takes a while for me to decide which one to order. First time we went there we thought we will order one savory for each of us and share one sweet crêpes for both but we got so full after we finish our savory crêpes. So the second time we went there I ordered the sweet one. I couldn't remeber what savory crepes I had but it was excellent. The crêpes batter is not overwhelming it is just right to hold the filling in. I ordered strawberry, white chocolate and cheese with whipped cream and cherry on top. It was so delicious. They have their menu up on the board include the filling details so you know what you'll get they also provide gluten free batter. I hope someday they'll have dairy free choices too and probably if they decorate their cafe more it would be great. Forgot to mention they play nice music! read more

Rude staff. I won't be going back. It's a shame because the crepes are amazing. It was very smoky in there too. I asked if there was a fan that pulls the smoke outside like other restaurants- the girl was very snarky and annoyed by my question. She said that's just steam. It wasn't. My daughter didn't like her crepe so I trade with her. She had ordered it without whip cream and I love their whip cream so I asked the girl if I could have whip cream (on a crepe that normally has it). She said no because she didn't want to waste a plate. I probably would have paid for it but I was so shocked by her response - take in mind the crepes are already almost $8.00. The rest of the time I was there visiting with my friends I felt like they wanted us to go. It was kind of uncomfortable. There were plenty of tables available and no where near closing time so this was odd to me. I was going to get another crepe to take home to my kids but I am not going to spend another dime there. read more

Love the crepes here. They're absolutely delicious. I've gone there several times and took others visiting there and each time I'm delighted and so are others. I love the sweet ones more but that is a personal preference. 1 negative: they serve all food in disposable dishes. I just feel very bad at the environmental aspect of this. But I think they're rather new and this is likely to change over time with support from those going there. read more
