My first barber experience.... Loved it! I took my 1 year old son to get his hair cut. Michael did a great job and duplicated a photo I showed him of the haircut I wanted that he just glanced at! He was able to keep the attention of my son up until the very end which is an accomplishment in itself! The shop is really nice inside! The tinted window had me initially nervous since I didn't know what I was walking into but the inside is very modern and "barbershopie"! *update: the tinted windows were hanged to blinds which is much more appealing. I have also been continuing to take my son there for the past 7 months and Michael is so patient with my crank toddler! read more

Guy was so disrespectful on the phone. I asked him do you take cards. He says we take debit card. I say okay do you take credit cards. He says we take debit card. Okay well I don't have my debit card on me SO "do you take credit cards." He then hangs up on me. I call right back,"so do you or do you not, take credit cards" He screams, "I tell you three time, we take debit card!" And hangs up. Out of shear disrespect I turned around and went home. I still don't know if they take credit cards or not. If your gonna man your phone staff with disrespectful people who don't understand basic English, the you don't deserve your current stars. So disrespectful, never got my question answered, wasted a bunch of my time. I wanted to be a bimonthly customer, didn't even make it in the door. read more

Everytime I showed up for my appointment I waited an extra 5-10min, today 30 minutes. Dude has horrible time management skills. Barber was Simon. read more

Great place to get a cut, very friendly staff and affordable prices!! Everyone takes their time on your haircut and they keep a very clean shop. I highly recommend City Clipperz!! read more

Mike is an amazing conversationalist as well as barber. I moved to Philadelphia from Maryland in April. I have been visiting different shops all over the city to find a haircut that was on par with my go to barber in Maryland ever since. I have finally found him!! I asked Mike for a skin fade and he went above and beyond. He took out his foil clippers to finish up and made my head silky smooth. He finished the haircut off perfectly with a straight razor with hot soap to the neck. I can't say enough about Mike and his shop. Thanks for the great haircut!! I'll certainly be back. read more

City Clipperz - The day after an awesome haircut from Mike. Thank you man!! I'll be back. - Barbers Near Me - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania

Extremely friendly accomodating people but my cuts there both times were sub par. The first time the fade was too high and I repeatedly requested skin tight but very low and fade up. The second time the skin tight but wasn't blended well on the fade. I was in a rush because I was on my way to an interview so I didn't check it out as thoroughly as I normally would. If the customer service wasn't so friendly it would probably be a 2. read more

Got haircut done with Simon and was pleased with his detailed work. Easy to explain how you want your style. After my first visit here I made this place my first barbershop choice and been their customer for almost a year. Unless I'm away traveling I wouldn't go anywhere else. Best customer service experience. The place is not one of those with rowdy people and blasted music that you can hardly hear each other. The place is calm, relaxed and clean. read more

Michael is fantastic. Great conversation, loves his customers, never forgets anyone and delivers and amazing haircut. He uses some techniques I've never seen before and it leaves your hair feeling soft and easy to work with when you style it. Glad I was referred to him! Best price in the city too for what you get. read more

I've been going here for about the last three years and have always had great experiences. Michael and his team provide a great value barber shop to the neighborhood. The staff are very friendly and the shop is always clean. They also take walk-ins and are open until 7PM during the week, which is a huge plus for me. Give them a shot and you won't be disappointed. read more

I've only been here twice, but that's enough to leave a good review in my opinion. The first time I went the actual owner cut my hair. He is highly skilled and after chatting with me for a bit knew exactly what I wanted and cut my hair accordingly. I was very excited to find a good barber so close to where I live. The second time the owner was busy and I got someone else. Although he did a good enough job, I would have rather waited for the owner. It's difference between an A- and an A+. The owner barber was good, but the owner was awesome! Parking can be a little bit tricky though. Be careful crossing Girard. read more

Flat out amazing haircut. Mike is a terrific barber and an enjoyable person just to have a conversation with. Will 100% be coming back as he will be my new barber for good. read more

Mike has given my the best haircuts I've gotten. Not easy to find parking sometimes (look for side streets) but a great spot. He does what you want and may suggest some expert stuff to make your style better. That's the key too that he styles your hair well as opposed to just cutting or fading I.T. Thanks !' read more

I go to this place every week for a razor shaved bald head. Mike always hooks it up perfectly. It's a very relaxing experience, and I feel their price for this service is better than anyone around. If you're looking for a hot towel head shave, skip the fancy "salons" around town and let Mike take good care of you! read more

After doing my "foot work" and checking out other barber shops in the area, I am very fortunate to have found Simon and mike! Truly an asset to the community! Probably that best haircut I have received and a wonderful atmosphere! No loud offensive music or inappropriate conversations, just a great focus on delivering a remarkable haircut. As a uber driver I am always asked for recommendations and City Clipperz is now my "go to" spot" and top recommendation for a great haircut with personalized service! read more

I'll start off by saying that I've tried my fair share of barbershops and salons in the city, prices ranging from $35-$65. This is the best I've been to in Philly! I went to salons in Rittenhouse despite the hefty price because I just wanted my hair done right. I bounced from place to place until i was referred to City Clipperz. Mike is the best barber I've been to in the city. He has a NY background and his skills are top notch. In terms of the price, it's $20 for a haircut. In Philly... you can't beat that. I'll be a longtime customer and would refer him to anyone! read more

Mike was great. I was in a pinch and had been turned away from several other shops on Girard. Mike was very friendly and made me feel very comfortable and at ease. Extremely reasonable price for a real quality haircut. He takes his time and you can tell he cares about what he does. Will definitely become a regular here. read more

Mike is the best barber in Philly . He provides that NY style in Philly. I've been going to so many barbers in Philly and no other can compare like Mike. Definitely recommend this barber if you need a good hair cut. The barbershop is always clean , parking is always easy to find. Mike takes his time to get it right. He's always energetic and treats his customers like family. And he dresses very well lol read more

Been going here for about half a year now and haven't had one bad cut. The guy is precise and listens to suggestions while working with you to find the best cut. This spot is also good for families. Since he has young kids of his own, he knows how to keep them occupied (think youtube connected tv). Treat him with respect and he'll do the same in return. Not the cheapest place nor the most expensive but def the best cut, what more can you ask for. read more

Talented and creative barbers. They take pride in their work and take their time with your cuts. From customers cuts to the latest trends. Walk-ins welcomed. Reasonable wait times when applicable. Better prices for that area. Staff are friendly. Shop is small but comfortable. No room for riff raff to linger. Immaculate and clean. Offers old school services like hot towels and shaved, but can style the latest designs. Scissors and clippers styles are equally strong. I highly recommend this barber shop and I will be a repeated customer. read more

First time here and I'll most certainly be back. The owner of the shop, Michael, was very nice. He knew exactly what type of style I wanted (and I suck at explaining things). He took his time and made sure everything was perfect which you don't see that often in certain shops. The shop itself was very new and very clean. It was one of the better haircut experiences I've had during my life! read more

Had a haircut from each of the guys who work here. They all know how to do great fades, and are well mannered.

Mike knows what he's doing. He's smart at his craft, fast, easy to communicate with, and just very kind. I got my cut on a Saturday morning. I was the only client in there. He was still quick and attentive. All I had to do was tell him I wanted a classic cut with a fade. He crushed it. I was in a tight spot and needed the cut asap. I will go to Mike again. read more

Just moved to here from Miami and was hesitant to try a new barber. Found Mike at City Clipperz. Did a great job giving me what I wanted and even improving on it. He's very friendly and takes an interest in his clients. Great for people living in the Fishtown and Northern Liberties area. Reasonably priced, quick, and convenient. Highly recommend this place! read more

Enjoyed my first cut here. Second cut was by another guy. He turned me away from the mirror and proceeded to do a bunch of unwarranted things to my hair. Now i have messed up side burns and product in my hair. Worst cut ever. read more

The best in this business. Takes the time to get it right! Cuts to your liking and what looks great. Never a bad cut. Most barbers can learn what it is to be the ultimate professional in this business! If his cell phone rings he answers it after the cut. I wish I had found him sooner, but sometimes you have to live through the worst to appreciate the best! As much as I wanna keep this secret to myself I know it's only a matter of time till I have to fight for an appointment to get my hair cut by the best!!! read more

I stopped by after seeing all the good reviews on yelp, to get a haircut. I met Mike, the owner who is a very friendly chap. He immediately put me at ease with his demeanor and also offered advise on how best to wear my hair based on the shape of my face. Mike is very meticulous and took the time to go around my head very precisely. Bottom line, I like my haircut and will be back again. read more

solid cut, decently priced, easy parking on Girard. John really knows clippers and scissors, and I he did the best hard part fade in Philly. Look forward to growing out my hair for another cut. read more
