Completely destroyed my hair. I requested a very specific haircut, and told them the exact length of my bangs. They ignored everything I said and cut it about two inches too short everywhere. I explained that I texture my hair myself, and they tried to do it anyways, failed, and then cut it even shorter because they failed. I got the "SuperCuts Classic" bowl cut at triple the price. Absolutely not worth it, and the fact they even pretended it looked good on me was ridiculous. read more

Was trying to find a place after moving for college and after visiting some shops. This has been a great experience. Brennen is an amazing barber, he listens and makes sure that every part of your hair is to your liking. He'll ask multiple times to make sure it's perfect so it's not that awkward acceptance like most barber places. The cost was $80 for fade and beard trim. The fade wasn't what I asked for but overall it was just meh. However, fade was too expensive for the price. The beard was barely trimmed. Beard has hair of all lengths. The beard lines/edges weren't done. The beard was not even blended. Maybe the barber is just not skilled at all, which I think is the case. When the appt was booked it said 45 mins, but overall it was 29 mins for fade and beard trim. Everything was rushed. This place is too expensive for what it is. At cheaper places I had a much better beard trim. Will not be retuning. read more

AKA my few years in Philthadelphia -- regardless, Stevie J. would like to give the utmost props to my HIGHER POWER, who was looking down from above, or for some of yous - the Lord/Jesus/God/Savior,etc. -- who is also monitoring your (recommended) bi-weekly maintenance cut. I WAS a loyal client, or "cuttee," at a competitor's shop in the neighborhood for long time...but by golly, when I MOST needed my "guy," my go-to resource failed me and was overbooked. This was a VERY important Saturday morning -- and Stevie needed a fade that was FRESH TO DEATH in order to photograph beautifully, court some stunning bridesmaids, shake some elders' hands, kiss some babies' foreheads, and basically impress every single human I would be encountering in the coming days. When I arrive, they tell me the barber didn't show up, not their problem, and there is nothing they would do about it. In today for a cut and style, I saw Carlos in the chair for 26 minutes. He was friendly. No straight razor use on the neck or anywhere, the first barber to not use it--$ 35 cut. Its my second visit here, isreal did it last time he spent more time and did straight razor the neck and sides. I'm happy with the cut. Looks good, has nice layering, and good attention to the colic areas I pointed out. Excellent music on again today, high quality sound system and nice decor, the shop is immaculate this all adds to the relaxation and quality experience during your visits. read more

Arrive at 3:53 for a 4pm appointment. I see Monique behind the counter enjoying a coffee while texting and laughing. She tells me she'll begin at 4. No problem, enjoy your break, lady. Gently clipping the 3 hairs I have left is going to be arduous. 4pm comes. 4:01 4:02 4:05 4:08 mind you I paid for parking. I'm sitting there waiting while she cackles at her Instagram feed of cats using the toilet by themselves. Has the audacity to tell me she can't always start haircuts early. MIGHT BE GOOD AT HAIRCUTS, BUT QUESTIONABLE CUSTOMER SERVICE I just walked out of your store very frustrated and annoyed at the lazy and inattentive staff. 10:55am: I showed up at 10:55am to my 11am appointment as scheduled and was not greeted by any staff nor asked to wait briefly before getting a cut. Phil was cutting someone's hair, Isreal was cutting someone else's and Victoria was slouched in her seat on her phone. I wasn't sure who was going to cut my hair so I just waited. In my head I was thinking Victoria would be the one to cut my hair - but she didn't even bother to say hi, nor tell me to wait, nor tell me who was going to cut my hair. 11:03am: still no one talking to me, so I go to Victoria to see if she was the one who was cutting my hair. She tells me that Isreal is scheduled to cut my hair - but didn't mention how long he will take. She goes back to just play on her phone. 11:15am: Isreal is still cutting someone's hair and Victoria is still on her phone, doing nothing. At this point I'm wondering why didn't Victoria offer to cut my hair? I eventually ask her what's taking so long? Victoria doesn't seem to understand why I am bothered and all Isreal can say is "sorry I can't help it, I'm running behind on schedule". Why did I have to confront them to find out what was taking so long? At this point I don't want to pay to get my hair cut by either of them, because no one is happy with each other and we'll just end up with more resentment. Overall I am frustrated by the following reasons: 1) Your barbers were running behind schedule, which is still OKAY 2) What made it worse is that no one greeted me and took 10 seconds out of their day to tell me that there would be a little bit of a wait or tell me who my barber would be, ESPECIALLY when the barbershop didn't look too busy with Victoria just chilling and on her phone 3) Why didn't Victoria offer to cut my hair instead? While I initially thought she was waiting for another customer, it became pretty clear that she wasn't waiting for anyone else. When I talked to her, her responses were short, unwilling to engage and it felt like she was bothered by each question I was asking. Very unfriendly. 4) Even when I made my frustration clear the team still looked didn't sound like they cared - and hinted I should just wait. The team just DID NOT GET THE IDEA. I'm not one to often write reviews, but my experience with Barber on 24th made for a very negative experience that I had to share it. Found the staff to be rude, and short. Very unfriendly, and not engaging. When I sat down to get my haircut, my barber Monique, was not willing to talk about what I wanted, or listening to understand what I was talking about. She immediately jumped to the conclusion that I was talking about length, when I was trying to explain what I actually wanted, which was to clean up my hair a little bit, and make it less bushy and bulb-like. When I tried to explain, I found her to be super short and rude, and unwilling to listen/be open. She was not willing to engage in questions and it seemed that every question I asked her just frustrated her. I will never be coming back here. The work she did took 5 minutes, 12 after all the arguing, and discussion of me trying to explain what I wanted, and I was left feeling dissatisfied, and worse than when I came in. Oh, and she charged $35 for all this work. Major rip-off and I feel like they just had me there to get my $35 and move on to the next one. Very impersonal. read more

Haircut lasted less than 10 minutes, was incredibly uneven, and poorly executed despite being a very straightforward cut. Genuinely believe I could have done a better job of cutting my own hair in a room with no mirrors. Spent more time at home fixing the haircut than I spent in the barber's chair receiving the cut (had to completely buzz cut my hair when I got home and will need to start growing it from scratch after almost a year of letting it grow because the haircut was so bad). read more

The haircut wasn't too bad at the end, but he left a couple of bruises on my neck because he aggressively used the trimmer. This was a really cool shop in a great area of Philly. I was visiting for work from California and needed a cut before some important meetings. I was able to use the website to get an appointment with Kat for the same day. She did a fantastic job and was really nice and you could tell she really cared about the final product of the haircut. She had her cool corgi Taco with her which was a plus because she was really cute and mellow. It was nice that they took card so I didn't have to run to the atm but make sure to tip the barbers in cash if you can!! Thanks for the good service and thanks to Kat for a great cut. read more

I am writing this review on behalf of a 4 year little boy who absolutely loves getting his haircut by Katie. Katie is sweet and knows exactly how to put a child at ease in her chair. She's gentle and soft spoken and goes at just the right pace (children don't sit still very long!). You can tell Katie is a mother because she is wonderful with children and her chair is filled with half of the neighborhood population under 7. If you are looking for someone who will give your child a great haircut at a decent price, I highly recommend booking an appointment with Katie. Her book fills up quickly on the weekends so be sure to book a few days ahead of time! read more

Friends recommended this shop and I'm glad they had an appointment available. It was my first time here and only my second haircut since the pandemic (I've been cutting my own hair and have needed a real cut for months). This shop is a nice, warm space with a handful of chairs, and kind people. Everyone is masked and there's hand sanitizer available and they sanitize their stations between clients. I kept trying to post a review earlier but could only leave a tip. here's the full reveiw: the shop:very laid back and everyone is very friendly. there's an old school vibe inside that sits well with those of us that appreciate style and class and want a no frills solid haircut. the barber: Melissa was recommended by a friend and she did a great job. after years of shaving my own head, letting it grow in and then repeating I wasn't sure what a proper haircut would look like. Melissa set me straight with a good look. her self assurance of what I should do to clean up gave me the confidence to give her the go ahead. sure enough, I couldn't be more pleased. I walked out I feeling good, looking good and I got a lot of compliments. she was friendly and very professional. She definitely knows what she's doing. Not only do I never write reviews, I downloaded yelp for the sole purpose of writing this review. I've been growing out my hair for the past 4 years now because I could not get a style or cut that I truly liked when it was short. I recently decided long hair was no longer for me and scheduled an appointment with Liane who I was referred to by a friend. Liane was amazing. I went in with an idea and she brought it to the next level. She really came through with a lot of great suggestions on what would look best on me given my growth and curl pattern (I have pretty tight curls). She was comforting and made great convo. I could really tell she enjoys her craft and looks for perfection with the keen eye she had and the constant editing with a small cut here and there. I could not have been more pleased with the outcome and now love my hair short/medium length. She really exceeded any expectations I had going in today. I will of course be coming back for regular cuts from Liane and would recommend anyone looking for some sound advice on styling, a new and fresh cut or just a simple cut to do the same.
