Was trying to find a place after moving for college and after visiting some shops. This has been a great experience. Brennen is an amazing barber, he listens and makes sure that every part of your hair is to your liking. He'll ask multiple times to make sure it's perfect so it's not that awkward acceptance like most barber places. The place was cozy and chill and in a great area if you want some coffee right after your cut. Overall really recommend.

Shaun did a great job! I have been searching for a good place to get my haircut since moving to philly a few months ago and I'm very happy with how Shaun listened to what I wanted and then he did a great job also I think it was his first day so props to him for being on his game the first date on the job. I'll definitely be back. Friend staff, good atmosphere.

AYOOO! Barber @ 24th (& Lombard)...where you been hiding at my whole life?! AKA my few years in Philthadelphia -- regardless, Stevie J. would like to give the utmost props to my HIGHER POWER, who was looking down from above, or for some of yous - the Lord/Jesus/God/Savior,etc. -- who is also monitoring your (recommended) bi-weekly maintenance cut. I WAS a loyal client, or "cuttee," at a competitor's shop in the neighborhood for long time...but by golly, when I MOST needed my "guy," my go-to resource failed me and was overbooked. This was a VERY important Saturday morning -- and Stevie needed a fade that was FRESH TO DEATH in order to photograph beautifully, court some stunning bridesmaids, shake some elders' hands, kiss some babies' foreheads, and basically impress every single human I would be encountering in the coming days. That afternoon included wedding pictures and festivities for which I needed to look as close to Brad Pitt as humanly possible. Trust me when I say -- it was NOT Stevie. J'.s wedding, as I currently remain a single and mingling Irish-Itlian-Hybrid STALLION -- and intend on staying this STUD for the coming years, with absolutely no intentions of slowing it down. All self confidence aside, in a frantic and panicked state, I scrambled the interweb trying to find a reputable Barber that could successfully recreate and implant Clarke Kent's face and hair combo onto my average looking face and over-sized dome. Behold, BARBER ON 24th! No ifs, ans or buts about it -- go to this place! Stevie J. has been there twice -- not 1 time, but 2 TIMES -- and I sincerely recommend that any local Philadelphian do the same. Barber on 24th offers a variety of services (more than your average barber), at a reasonable price - $35 for a basic men's haircut. Staying open until 8pm on Weekdays is key for us hardworking and studious folk who struggle to find the time to book these manscaping appointments. On a Saturday morning, they had 5 active barbers -- a mix of men and women -- all willing and able to procure any and all cuts one would need! I have now had my hairs cut by both Previn and Israel -- and I was more than pleased with both! Need I say more? 1. VIBEZ = GREAT (solid playlist covering various genres) 2. SERVICE = FANTASTIC (quick, easy, flexible, chatty and helpful) 3. PRICE = STANDARD! ~STEVIE J. $$ WE OUTCHEA

Going in for a cleanup today, seeing barber Carlos
    Jerry C.

In today for a cut and style, I saw Carlos in the chair for 26 minutes. He was friendly. No straight razor use on the neck or anywhere, the first barber to not use it--$ 35 cut. Its my second visit here, isreal did it last time he spent more time and did straight razor the neck and sides. I'm happy with the cut. Looks good, has nice layering, and good attention to the colic areas I pointed out. Excellent music on again today, high quality sound system and nice decor, the shop is immaculate this all adds to the relaxation and quality experience during your visits.

Mediocre center city $40 fade. Going back to South Philly where the fades are $12 and my ppl are real

Ask the Community - Barber on 24th

I am looking to speak to the owner but I cannot find an email or phone number please help?

Hello. I am the owner and can be reached at Phila.BarberCo@aol.com!

Does this shop take e-payments (cashapp, Zelle)?

Unfortunately we do not accept e-payments. Thank you for asking.

Do you guys specialize in shorter haircuts or can you do longer hair as well? Looking for a new barber for my son but he has longer hair that he wants to keep chin length but needs a trim and layering.

Hi Angela! We do specialize in short cuts. Happy you asked about the longer cut for your son, as not all barbers can. Please book a young men’s cut with Jessa. She would be best suited in our shop at this time.

Are you a cash only barber?

    We accept cash and card.

Can they shave designs into my friend's hair? Say a Philadelphia Eagle's Logo? We are coming to Philly from the Pacific NW to conquer bucket list item #1 for her. She wants to see her Eagles play at home.

Please call the shop at 2157327797.

My sister-in-law and I were both in our mid-to-late thirties, with hundreds of club nights behind us, and we arrived early enough to order espresso martinis and claim a small spot. From there, we watched the venue gather momentum as a diverse crowd filled in, the DJ played the kind of hip hop I prefer, and the energy became sexy and physical while remaining tasteful. After nearly 20 years of going out, I felt like an elder watching the torch pass to the next generation, and that perspective is part of what makes Blind Barber meaningful to me. From the first interaction at the entrance, the staff established a sense of safety and welcome. The bouncers were mellow, nonjudgmental, and clearly there to protect the night rather than spoil anyone's fun. Door staff set the emotional temperature of a club because hostility outside follows people in and compounds as the liquor begins to flow. Blind Barber started with warmth, and the crowd responded with friendliness, looseness, and a genuine openness to meeting one another. Back in 2009, Jason Battle gave my friend Ross and me our first DJ gig at Plan B, the slightly seedy space on the north side of Tompkins Square Park that would later become the original Blind Barber. You might occasionally spot a dead roach on the black-and-white tile floor; the back storage areas were a free-for-all, and the neon lighting had likely never passed through expert hands. It felt like an organic house party elevated a few notches, which was exactly why we adored it. We were initially too broke to buy a Serato box, but after the parties began drawing attractive crowds, earning enthusiastic feedback, and somehow making us money, we finally bought one. Plan B became both a launching point and a gathering place for DJs who wanted to do bigger things. Sam French was perhaps the clearest example, and I followed him for years as he rose into major gigs around the world, but the wider orbit also included Blu Jemz (RIP), Terry Urban, Omri S. Quire, and people connected to the Fool's Gold and A-Life ecosystems. You could also encounter DJs such as Ayres and Eleven from The Rub, whose legendary parties we attended at Southpaw in Brooklyn, along with many other creative people moving through downtown nightlife. At the same time, Meatpacking District bottle-service clubs were booming, but their atmosphere often felt constructed by promoters, while wealth and expense accounts set the vibe. Around that period, I was getting my hair cut at F.S.C. Barber on Freeman Alley and spending my nights at Plan B. Jeff Laub, Josh Boyd, and Adam Kirsch made the brilliant move of combining those experiences in the former Plan B space, creating a barbershop by day and a social destination after dark. The formula makes financial sense in expensive cities because the business earns money across more hours, while the genuinely local barbers and staff become a social magnet, promoting the place without making it feel like it's being promoted. That combination of commerce, culture, and local credibility is much harder to create than it looks. Now in my early forties, after traveling widely, having children, and doing a lot of living, it is deeply satisfying to see Blind Barber carry that spirit into Philadelphia and other cities without losing the original idea. If I were young and single, this is where I would come to hang out, meet someone, and hopefully get lucky; nearly 20 years ago, I did exactly that in its earliest incarnation. The concept is smart, social, and genuinely fun, and I honestly have a hard time imagining why anyone would dislike it. Blind Barber understands that the best nightlife is built around good music, interesting people, and the possibility that something unexpected might happen.

But walk through the shop and into the back -- and boom -- you're in a whole hidden bar. It's got that classic speakeasy feel without trying too hard. Parking-wise, there's street parking nearby, but it fills up quickly, so plan ahead. When I visited, only the upstairs bar was open (the downstairs one was closed), but the vibe was still great. The space is simply decorated -- nothing over the top -- but it works. The bartender was super friendly and made the experience even better. I ordered the wings and a Diet Coke, and let me just say... those wings were phenomenal. Some of the best I've had at a bar. The staff overall was warm, helpful, and attentive. One heads-up: I tried to go the night before (Wednesday), and even though their hours said they were open late, they closed around 11 because it wasn't busy. Apparently, they sometimes close early on Wednesdays and Thursdays if the crowd isn't there. Totally understandable -- just make sure to give them a quick call before heading over on a weeknight.
