Found this coffee spot on our way through WY. Sunday about 10am. We went through the drive thru because it was December and way too cold to get out of the car! Lol! There were about 3 other cars in front of us when we arrived which meant we were right at the speaker. We ordered a small watermelon cucumber mint refresher, a large caramel frappe, a hot caramel macchiato and 3 everything bagel breakfast sandwiches. $41.38 Service was fast and friendly. Drive thru seemed to stay busy. My daughter's refresher was very refreshing!! She regretted not getting a large! (They also have a strawberry acai refresher that you might want to try) The bagel sandwiches seemed fresh to me. I don't know if they are prepackaged since I didn't see them making them but I would bet they are fresh from the taste. My husband said his macchiato was a little milky but I enjoyed my caramel frappe. Another great roadtrip find!! read more

There is no consistency with their chargers anymore. 6/10 times that i order one it is made incorrectly. When I express this to the staff they told me 'we're trying out a different base to see how customers like it.' I then told them that the drink is now gross and they've never offered to remake it or a refund. I love city brew, but will have to stop returning due to this. read more

After reading AnnaLee H's review on the Samoa drink here, I knew that I had to stop by this place in the morning for my drive. I don't typically get the foo-foo coffee drinks; usually it's just a cup of drip coffee for me - but the Samoa sounded awesome! When I got there, I did not see the Samoa listed on the posted menu - - so I just went w my usual cup of drip. But my temptation gave in, and I also picked up one of the good-looking 7 Layer bars. (I'll get my coconut fix somehow.) I asked the barista (afterwards) about the Samoa drink, and she said they still make it - it's just not posted. Oh well... I read several of the previous reviews, and had my hopes set pretty high. My husband and I are sort of fancy coffee snobs, and we were not disappointed coming here and getting the Samoa drink blended. The Samoa consist of Carmel, coconut, and chocolate, blended with coffee. Ironically, this is the drink I get back home, but nobody has a name for it there. :-) They make their own whipped cream, and it is also delicious. The drive thru was long (enough for suburban and trailer) and convenient. We are pulling a small trailer and have a car full of kids, so the less getting in and out we could do on our road trip, the better. read more

I was glad to see another coffee shop open up, aside from the seemingly over crowded Starbucks. The staff is always friendly, too. Of course you can get your typical espresso craze drinks, but they also have a decent variety of coffees, too. Nothing is ever too bitter. The atmosphere seems very laid back and cozy. There's plenty of space for a quick business meeting or just a social get together with friends. There's also complimentary ice water out for the taking, which is nice after coffee. I got the mocha ad my hubby got the Capp. They asked if we wanted to add sweetener or whip cream. My mocha was already pretty sweet so I'm glad to have said "no thanks". Awesome sugar free selection for both hot and cold drinks. My husband is a diabetic and loves the SF frap with SF mocha base w/SF white chocolate flavor. They are so good, my kids even drink them. It was mine and my friends first time here and we ordered and as we were walking out my friend dropped her coffee so we informed the ladies behind the counter and they were pretty rude about it and gave dirty looks making us feel unwanted so we left immediately. I was very pleased to see a new cafe open up that can give fly-infested Starbucks a run for its money. City Brew is a regional chain, based out of Montana, so it also has a certain mountain-west sensibility to it that appeals to me. They even have a "Wyoming Series" of coffee in a few different roasts/varieties, which made me happy. The atmosphere is cool and comfortable, though it could use more comfortable chair/sofa type seating. I also like the added touch of water pitchers and cups sitting out, because after all, one needs water with coffee. One of the best things City Brew has going for it are the Belgian Waffles. I had one with Nutella and banana on it, which is a combination that has never failed. It didn't today, either. The Americano was nothing spectacular, but it did the trick. All in all, this is a great place to get a cup of joe and read or do work, and at only about a mile or less from the interstate, it's worth the short drive for travelers. read more

I was really glad to see City Brew open in Gillette. I was tired of going to the Starbucks, which was alway dirty and there were flies in the pasty display cases. It was a real turn-off for me because I'm sort of a clean freak. City Brew is very clean and comfortable. I enjoy the coffee as well as the tea. The service is friendly and helpful. Its really a good place to meet friends, or relax and read. I generally will get an Americano, and I like it because is doesn't taste burned. They always will steam the cream I ask for.
