It's nothing fancy, but reminds you a lot of the classic lunch cafeteria. You pay once at the start for the whole buffet. The main courses are served by the workers, while the sides and dessert section are a pick-your-own. Oh yeah, and they have free unlimited wine. The main two course I had was the bacalhau a bras and the salmon. For the bacalhau - it was a bit different than I was expecting; kind of seemed like it was baked and then sitting under the heat lamp for a bit. I suppose the traditional method of scrambled eggs-like wouldn't work for this kind of buffet. It was quite solid - I got a decent fishy taste but wasn't overpowering at all. The eggs still stayed pretty good. The salmon was also nice. It had super clear grill marks, and while leaning slightly on the more cooked side, it still tasted pretty fresh and good The sides were pretty hit or miss. The fried fish (what seemed to taste like bonito) was good, but the fried chicken bits and the grilled chicken in the salad weren't very good. Dessert wise, there were about 5 options that I tried. The flan was good, but the rest were kind of forgettable. Considering the price I paid of under 10 euros, this is a ridiculously good value for a buffet. Granted, it's not like you get full control, but this worked the opposite way for me as the servers gave me so much more of the main courses than I would've had myself. Plus the free wine (which I didn't even have), this is easily the best value meal of my entire trip. Overall, solid food that serves university students at an unbelievable price; and I can't believe this place is open for everyone. 8/10

The cafeteria is a lovely artsy space, tucked away next to the all the surrounding museums that has an outside patio overlooking down in the back of the city. Weekend buffet ends at 4pm, but be sure to get there before 3pm as most things are slowly being put away and tables changing to dinner. As I mentioned above, it's got everything! Hot soups, some sort of baked codfish, lox, fritatas, sushi, breads, charcuterie, cheeses red and white wine, delicious fresh juices (my fav was the mango+passion fruit), beautiful desserts like chocolate cake, key lime pie, fruity custards are ALL displayed on the table. Such an awesome find! In the end, the total price was about 14.50 Euros.

Once you hike it up the hill, theres another queue to get into the palace. Once you get in you basically walk single filed line thru the entire castle. Standing in a very packed in line sucks because it gets hot and stuffy and without fail someone isnt wearing deoderant and reeks of BO. And some people just do not understand personal space bumping into you multiple times. Almost turned around and asked the dude if he was ok. I do enjoy the outdoor areas because the viewpoints from up there is amazing. The different rooms inside are beautiful as well. By no means do you have to pay to get into the palace. I feel as though the outside of the palace is more grand then the inside. And the tour guide also says the gardens and grounds are much more beautiful then the palace. Fortinately for us we got a bus ride all the way to the entrance. Because getting there required driving or walking up steep winding hills which would've been super exhausting. Overall its beautiful here to see a part of Portuguese history. Definitely worth the journey. Just expect people everywhere

When I first learned of Pena Palace, I thought it looked gaudy, but in person it is quite jaw dropping. You can see quite a bit of the grounds just by purchasing a pena park ticket, but that ticket doesn't give you access to the interior of the palace. We took the train to Sintra and walked the steep, windy streets up after taking a local bus. Definitely would take the $12/pp tourist bus or hire a tuktuk in retrospect, but on the bright side, I got a good workout. Worth the day trip from Lisbon.

This restaurant seemed to be locals hangout as most of the older gentlemen were gathered around the tv to watch the Sporting Lisbon football game. There's an outdoor patio and indoor dining. I regret not going inside as the patrons outside were smoking non-stop. There are patio heaters to keep you warm. As for the food we ordered a couple of staples. Bife da vazia a marrare "Beefsteak sauce" was my choice and my wife got the paella negra which is black in colour using squid ink. Both dishes took some time to come out but they were hot and fresh. The steak was thick and juicy. The gravy was different because they use mustard along with the traditional Portuguese brown sauce. It really hit the spot. The steakhouse fries were crispy and soaked up the gravy nicely. The paella negra was made just right. Not too dry and not too saucy. I would have wished for more seafood but the dish was executed perfectly. Compliments to the chef! Overall, we enjoyed the meal and the price point is reasonable considering it's like one block off of the main strip. I recommend this restaurant based on my experience. The service was a bit slow but the quality of the food made up for it.
