Awful Bank. I never signed up for overdraft, instead they did it for me. I changed banks except 1) Payments from online made account like under $10 negative. The overdraft fees in 1 month amount over $335 !!
Never received any text alert notice for overdraft low balance I signed up for. Did however get text updating me on offers, auto payments. but nothing that may have stopped this and told me about my low . overdrafted balance.
They play this game where you see your account negative. You then day of seeing the up to date balance , Put the amount it shows to get it out of negative. The next day you will see a charge applied the previous day of $30 that then puts you back into the negative. Rinse repeat till they got you beat.
I was with this bank for over 10 years. I got to cash a $5K check. They blocked the check needed to deposit for closing on my home. They gave a receipt stating it would be available in 2 days. 2 days came and went and sent a letter saying they were looking into fraud (money laundering suspicion) . Then told me it wasn't fraud as the letter stated, it was that they couldn't validate the amount.
That was a lie. I called the issuing bank and they were perplexed as they could see Citizens "Bank" confirming balance. To note, The teller seemed upset when I deposited this check badgering me why I didn't go with their crappy bank for a loan. She may have started this problem.
2) They "deactivated cards without notice to customers 6 months before exp" - Citizens "Bank" rep. Found out while attempting to use it at Costco in line with no access to any money. That was fun Just decided I needed a new chip. They told me new card will arrive soon. 3 weeks later it arrived. No notices nothing.
I just could go on and on. I just wanted to close the account but they wouldn't let me unless I came in. They said they could suspend account, but any use via any reason would reactivate it Doesn't sound like a suspend to me. read more
