It's free, it's monthly, it's upbeat, and I find myself looking forward to new issues. I am not aware of any other local publications that focus on women, and it's nice to be able to pick up a paper full of essays that range from pleasant to touching. They did have a recent feminist issue. My opinion is somewhat slanted (I have often wondered in frustration why "feminist" is stigmatized here), so I have to admit that this really cemented my loyalty as a reader. Reading Skirt! is a great hour-long escape!

Besides letting you know what's worthy of checking out in this fine city of the south they also have great short fiction written by local talents. We shouldn't be surprised that there are so many talented local writers in this city. For the past 10+ years or more my favorite reason to get the CL is the legendary epicurean Cliff Bostock. He was a foodie before most of us were even born! I usually skips over advertisements but even the ads printed in the Atlantan are colorful and appealing, When I travel to other cities I find it more difficult to find localized Modern Luxury publications. Marietta Daily Journal owns the Henry Herald Newspaper. I paid a total of $54.38 between July 2025 and March 2026. The Issue - The services were never delivered. Response - I have contacted management repeatedly over a three-month period between March 4, 2026 and June 10, 2026. On March 24th, Marietta Daily Journal representatives explicitly acknowledged the error via telephone and requested me to send a detailed list of transactions in question. They promised a full reimbursement. Status - Despite these explicit admissions of fault and multiple promises to pay, the business has failed to issue the refund and continues to delay resolution.

But still its great for local news and if you are looking for things to do on the weekend these guys have you covered.
