This is the worst predatory bank with hidden fees. I was a citigold customer, the banking rep (Rita Lee) refused to help me perform simple transactions. Also, there refi and wealth management folks are useless and try to be crafty to use silly fees slipped in to make money. Took a multi million portfolio to Merrill and JPM, this is a dated bank with checked out folks, take your money elsewhere. read more

Yep, I did it. I went with the big bad boy. When I was needed to store some cash and needed a high(er) yield for savings, I found a 5% savings account with no early withdrawal penalties. Perfect. What made the setup so easy was Cali. Absolutely wonderful, knowledgeable and such a pleasant easy-going personality. I learned that yesterday was her last day with Citi, so sad to see her go. I came into the bank today to open a checking account. I already have a significant amount of money in a CD at their bank. Im considered "Gold Status" due to my balance but that is really only a promise of better service which they fail miserably at. Today when I arrived to open the additional checking account, I was told that I needed to make an appointment. Never heard of needing an appointment to give them business. Also, I looked around and beside me there was only one other customer in the bank and numerous tellers and employees sitting at their desks with no customers. I find it hard to believe that not a single person could have opened a checking account for me. It should have been a simple request--I already have an established account with them. Thanks Citi for another example of poor customer service. I can't wait to be able to move all of my money to an alternative bank that values my time and business. read more

This bank provides the absolute worst customer service I have ever experienced. When I first opened my account, I was bringing in a large sum of new money to open a new high yield account. I was informed that I was gold status due to the size of my deposit and told that I would have a personal banker and would receive top notch service. LIES. I never heard from the personal banker who was supposed to contact me to explain all of the wonderful benefits I would receive. After I called her multiple times and asked her to email the information to me, she finally called me back and wanted to talk by phone. I'm a busy single working mom and dont have time to talk to her on the phone. They should accommodate their customer's needs. On one occasion I called and requested for money to be wire transferred to another bank. They said they could not do that because I didnt have checking account. Well, I did but they unknowingly closed it. To re-open I needed to come to the bank. Another time I asked for a statement to be emailed to me. They said they could fax it or I needed to come to the bank to get it. In 2025, who uses a fax machine? And why do I need to drive to the bank? This is the worst service ever. Lastly, when I did visit the bank in person once I was given incorrect information about the terms of my CD and a teller was using the branch mirror to apply to make-up during business hours. No class at all. DO NOT GIVE CITI IN SAN RAMON YOUR BUSINESS--YOU WILL BE HIGHLY DISAPPOINTED. Extremely Rude bank teller (Hana habibi) she will do everything in her power to not complete your transaction and has done it to me so many times. She is rude and just a very unpleasant person. She has turned me away multiple times and I have to go to the Dublin branch to complete my transaction and they don't have any of the fake issues she try's to make up. I pretty sure her life is horrible and she just wants to try and make everyone's life the harder. So unprofessional, so rude! I will never go here again and I hope everyone else does the same. I called the bank and gave specifics about the upcoming meeting to open 5 new accounts; 1 personal checking and savings, 1 business personal checking and 2 credit card accounts. She asked for my incorporation paperwork and I told her my business was a sole proprietor. We set up an appointment and we met. She asked again for my incorporation info and I again told her I was a sole proprietor and presented her with my EIN info. This was not sufficient so she tore up the paperwork in progress and we set another appointment to meet a week later. I emailed twice and called, left a voicemail asking if she had received the EIN letter I sent and if it I also asked her to confirm our next appointment. Never heard a word. read more

If you make an appointment to talk to an account executive, call them first on the morning of the appointment to make sure the person is there before going. Had appointment last week (day after Thanksgiving) and person was out sick. Teller that I talked to didn't even try to find out if she could have helped with my request. Rescheduled for this weekend and called ahead of time to find out person I rescheduled with is out sick this weekend. Seriously unprofessional. If the person is out unexpectedly the bank should at least try to contact the client to let them know not wait until they get there to find out. No such thing as customer service at all. read more

Worst customer service ever from any bank. They do not care about the customers. Very Rude bunch of people. Most of the Loan Processors and admin people are in Midwest and they are unbelievably rude. I would find another bank! First off. I am a new customer deposited $20k. My first visit to the branch nearest to my house and the teller named Habibi was chatting with her coworker as I walked up. I always am happy to see coworkers having a good time but she made it seem like I was interrupting her conversation with her associate and it went down hill from there. She was extremely rude and condescending when I was conducting business with her. I then visited again the next day and got the same rude attitude with the other teller. For sure she was judging my by my looks. Little did she know I'm a very successful business man. No matter how nice I tried to be Habibi was rude and condescending throughout the transaction. I will be closing my account and will find a a bank that has associates that are trained to be more respectful of their clients. I suggest a member of management talks to Habibi about her poor attitude. read more

An overpayment of $10,000 was made to the Citi Costco card. I contacted 855-378-6467 on 7/17 to request a return payment. I was told an electronic payment was not possible and a paper payment would arrive with 7-10 days. I called back on 7/22 and 7/24 for a status. I spoke with a manager, Jennifer, who then stated the request had to go through a Sr Approval process that took several days and was still waiting for approval. She stated she would expedite the request and asked for my bank routing number to get an electronic payment. I informed her that the previous representative said that was not possible. She stated she could make it happen and would call me back to give me the status. I provided my routing number but never received a call back. I called again on 7/27 and spoke with Alfredo. He stated that no action was taken. Mohammad was suppose to call according to their records but no call was made. Alfredo stated that the request needed to go through a Sr Level Approval again. No guarantee an electronic payment can be made and now suspicious that Citi wants to keep the funds and let it sit as an overpayment. Poor customer service. Misinformation at every step. Canceling my card and never using their services again. Not confident my bank routing number is secure with them since they cannot locate it. read more

I don't even know where to start my review as I made one really big mistake of my life and decided to work with a mortgage broker from this branch (Kevin Dooroodian) who was incompetent, rude and unprofessional. He wasted a lot my time and finally he did not even care to call and provide details on my application. I got approval from another bank and moving forward with my purchase as I knew I had no problems getting approved. On top of that this branch completely ignored my phone calls and basically I got no responses from them. I will escalate this to the corporate office and make sure I get the response I deserve but CITI lost us as clients. the deadline was approaching for my citicard credit card payment. i dreaded going to oaktown to find parking. i was in san ramon and see this branch was open. when i approached the bank, an older chinese got up from from chair. i went it, fill out the form and made my payment. the lady never approached me and set down after i approached the teller. i found out later this branch offered chinese bilingual services for it's depositers. I LOVE Citibank! I like the way they treat you. They are genuinely nice, not like Wells Fargo where they are forced to be nice. The best thing about Citibank is that you don't have to fill out deposit slips. I can't stand deposit slips! All you have to do is sign the back of your check, then slide your ATM card, enter your pin at the teller's window, and the Teller does the rest! I don't know my account numbers and I don't want to fill out some stupid form and add up all the numbers. I just want to deposit my damn money! LOL! My favorite person to deal with is Steven Cherezian. Steven is very professional and experienced. He ALWAYS takes great care of me when I have a need. Many times I can just call him and he'll take care of my needs without me having to go in. Now that's what I call service! Steven made sure to open only the accounts that I needed. Had the worst experience attempting to open an account at this institution. First, they needed a photo identification to set up my account, which is understandable since I set up the account online. After speaking to a representative I was told that I could bring my ID to the branch, the next day I went and the representative at the branch did not know what she was doing and was unable to help me. Fast-forward a few weeks, I get my card and checkbook, I go to the branch only for them to tell me that the account is closed because I did not make an attempt to bring them a photo ID. This has been the most stressful process, and people that are not willing to help. I don't know if it's because I am a woman of color in a neighborhood that is mostly Caucasian that she was the cause of this kind of service. read more

Careful signing up for their credit card that gives you American Airlines bonus points. Citi Bank may be involved in the same scams as Wells Fargo. After giving me my card they never gave me the miles. When I investigated the matter they told me that I had opened an account within 24 months. An account that was opened and closed with one week! They have not been able to provide proof of this account but still refuse to give me my miles. I have been fighting with them for over a month only getting the run a round.
