THIS IS FOR CITI AS COMPANY. they promised to reverse a small payment by an account manager, that was on auto pay for my credit card. And prior to that they confirmed that I cancelled auto payment on time and no autopay would go through (which was blatant lie since it did). I called numerous times they just made excuses as to not being able to reverse it by an account manager no less. I don't have an issue if they didn't lie and also promised by an account manager to reverse auto pay. So the review is legit. read more

This place is located in Monterey Park at 201 N. Garfield Ave., Monterey Park, CA. 91754 phone is 1.626.586.3536 This place has drive up tellers and ATM machines outside and inside. There is plenty of parking and you can enter or exit from two different streets. The staff is very friendly and professional, when you first walk in if you need help make sure you sign up on the clipboard and then have a seat in one of thee very comfortable chairs. There are several people working there and they speak different languages so if you were Chinese or another nationality they probably could help you. I don't live in the area, but I stopped in there and opened up a personal checking account. What I recently found out is if you were to use a app to send money overseas then you need a credit card linked to your account. My credit card for Citibank is for a business account and does not work, so I will be stopping in there to order up a new credit card that will be linked with my personal checking account. I want to have it setup so on the 26th of each month anything owed on the card will automatically be payed by my checking account funds. This way it would be impossible to ever be late on a payment plus I would never have any interest charges on my account. Later on I will opened up a business checking account. I have gone to numerous Citibank locations, and I have never written a review for all the other Citibank locations that I have gone to. It did not make sense for me to write a review for a bank that gave an average amount of customer service. Jenn He was over the top helpful. If I could give her more than 5 stars on Yelp, I definitely would. She took care of numerous things for us. She was constantly multi-tasking with us. The ATM machine eat my money and there wasn't no receipt printed out for me either. This happen second. The first was last year 2018. Omg now again in 2019. I had to told someone about the ATM machine. The supervisor came out to the ATM machine to check my account activity, then told me to call the number back of the card and walk again. I can't believe I'm writing a review for a bank. Usually the banks I go to are pretty great about customer service, as I have had accounts at Wells Fargo and WAMU. The service at Citibank in general sucks balls. Big, ugly, sweaty balls. They can't get the account information right. They can't get your address right. I opened my first savings and checkings account today as an employed adult! Here is where I scream, "I'm a big kid now!" But my first impression unfortunately of the bank involves an almost car accident and an almost brawl between two drivers who were screaming obscenities at each other. I walked out of my car and started towards the door but was confronted instead by a man who was walking in my direction and screaming the F word. I dodged him and rushed inside. Skip the craziness and despite the ghetto parking lot and ghetto people who apparently are customers of this bank, the employees inside are quite the friendly bunch. The process was painless though it did take ~40 minutes from the time we walked in to the time I walked out with a folder full of information. The personal bankers here speak perfect Mandarin, Cantonese, and nearly accent-less English. The vibe I got off her wasn't an unpleasant one, and I didn't feel as if she was trying to swindle me into anything. Mama Wong even walked away with two packets of empty red envelopes! This branch seems to be super busy even on Saturdays, and especially when it nears closing time. I'm told that it's empty Saturday mornings though, so if you want to avoid the crowds, try going early. read more

Ok, I always admired the way Citibank take care of their customers. I walked in and the line was no more than 5 mins wait. The teller was well tained, and she did her job very well. The parking lot was semi full, so finding a spot was great for me. I usually don't go to this branch, but I recommend this branch to the community close by the area. read more

(Good News) This is a thumbs up to Nancy in the Accounts Dept. We came in last week to change the savings account. She followed up today to make sure all was well. Nancy gets a 5/5. (Bad News) Back story, over the past 2 months Citi has shut down our debit card about 5 times (all because they did not have a correct address (or) some other piece of information they did not collect when I was added to my wife's account in July.) Each time they shut down our account, we NEVER got a phone call, on-line banking message or email. I would have to drive to a branch and ask them what happened. Once there, they would say, "We are so sorry this happened. But we need to update ______." We'd walk out with a working debit card & on-line access restored. Then without fail, it would happen again 10 days later. Repeat above (4x) by visiting whatever branch was near me at the time. The absolute WORST communication (and our account was active for 20+ years.) Solution: Moving it all to Chase Bank. read more

Citibank regularly sends me emails / surveys asking me about my satisfaction rating with simple, common transactions [deposits and withdrawals] that took place at my local branch. I take the time to respond [and to my pleasant surprise], they actually read my feedback, and take action. Here's an example: I mentioned how inconsiderate and annoying it was when other ATM users park their vehicles in traffic aisles, instead of parking in available parking spaces just a few feet away. Let's be honest, these people don't care that they're blocking traffic, because they value their personal convenience over your inability to safely navigate your vehicle around them. I'm not the type of person who gripes without having a reasonable solution to remedy the problem. I suggested that the bank paint the curb red to let anyone who cares, that parking there is prohibited. Citibank's regional manager thought my suggestion was practical and it was done. Thank you for listening and caring. [Unfortunately, I still witness some selfish jerks disregarding the obvious.] Very recently, I completed another survey, which prompted the branch manager, Curtis Wong, to call me to discuss my concerns about a different topic. Customer satisfaction is very important to Citibank. After that issue was addressed, he asked if there was anything else he could do for me? I mentioned that a significant deposit I made, had in my opinion, a longer than necessary automatic hold on it, as the funds were being slowly trickled-in and made available to me. He promised to look into it and would call back soon. Curtis Wong delivered on his promise and made an exception to the hold, given many factors, including my long and loyal banking relationship with Citibank. With the release of the funds, I was able to complete other transactions that were being delayed. I've banked at other competitors in the past, but have never been treated as if I really mattered to them. That's the Citibank difference. In this modern era of online banking and automation, it is refreshing to know that Citibank hasn't forgotten that their customers are human beings, not just account numbers. A genuine warm greeting when you enter their branch office is always welcomed. And, a positive, 10 out of 10 stars satisfaction rating is their goal and they strive to earn it along with your trust. read more

This review is just for the unprofessional lady who seemed either lazy or incompetent this afternoon during my visit. Came in to see a specific bank teller to help open an account (we usually work with her - very nice and helpful). As we waited for her to finish with her current client, another lady comes up to us and asks how she can assist us. She starts questioning us as to why we wanted to close an account at another bank and why open an account here. What we do with our money is our own business. As this lady was interrogating us, the other teller (the helpful one) was done with her client. However, another client gets to her first. After this lady finishes interrogating us, she then says, "ok, you can wait for her to assist you." She had just wasted our time, made us miss our turn with the helpful teller, and did not provide any assistance to us at all. I don't know what her role is in the bank but we felt as though either she didn't know how to open an account or she was too lazy to do so. We just took our money to another citibank location. My ratings are attributed to the superior service by Nancy Huang, the personal banker who walked the extra mile to assist me with an IRA ROLLOVER account. Initially I went to the Covina branch two weeks before, but after waiting for over an hour just to see a personal banker (evidently it was not her fault that the branch was understaffed on a Saturday and she was the only person on duty that day), it was to my dismay that my issue was not resolved after calling the designated IRA department two weeks later. Therefore, I took a leap of faith and visited this branch where I opened my account 15 years ago because an IRA account being a tax-sensitive issue, it has to be timely addressed. Nancy was very helpful by helping me call the responsible departments to enquire on my behalf, she took the efforts to address my issue and helped me get clarification. Otherwise, there was no way for me, to ever get any clarification on the issue at hand considering how bureaucratic the bank has become. I wish to applaud Nancy on her diligence and as someone who manages an intensive CS-related industry, Nancy is an invaluable asset to her organization and I hope that she is duly recognized for her superior customer service and professionalism. read more
