Opened an account online, but was then told we needed to go to branch to add my wife. Went in and signed paperwork. One week, nothing. Two weeks, nothing. Finally they tell me the agent made mistake and I had to redo paperwork. I complete paperwork and order checks and debit card. Along the way I never funded account since I had no access to it. Received an email saying fund by 11/30 or it will be closed. So, I set up to fund by 11/29 but when I log in, the account was already closed a day early. Two hours in phone loop hell and I end up with there is nothing they can do and I need to start over. Really? Avoid!

UPDATE: Aug 11 - Greenlawn branch STILL closed! Every other bank and business in neighborhood is open and serving the community, but Citi is above it all. BTW: Wrote 4 letters & emails back in March to Citi regarding the mishandling of my PPP application and STILL NO RESPONSE! UPDATE #2: Aug. 26, 2020: Branch STILL closed - with no info posted on its reopening. Two days ago I was able to go back to my closed for 5 month gym in Northport - BUT Citibank still cannot reopen this local branch. Apparently now GYMS are safer than banks for Covid transmissions. After entering the bank, I noticed that one of the bankers seated in the cubicles was someone I knew from my branch. He was there to help for one day while they were shorthanded. We were guessing that the bank is quite busy with two lane drive-throughs and its busy location. The truth of the matter is that the world is changing, most people have been utilizing digital processing for their banking needs. This has been clearly the reason for branch closings, and many brick mortar popular retail store chains as well. Capital One has fraud protections, lack of fees, and easy mobile access, which has made it the choice for me and most new banking customers. I find Capital One a stable banking institution and an occasional issue when I ever must visit a physical location will not change my mind where I bank. I give five stars to Capital One, but four stars for this location.
