I had both my…read morepersonal and business debit cards stolen out of the mail and accessed without the secret pin envelopes that were mailed separately. The bank's security auto-fraud alerted me to a suspicious purchase after $1000s of transaction had already taken place. After filing a police report, and escalating to every department in the coop, the coop still refused to reimburse me the money stolen from my business account, and credited me only my personal debit loss, even when there was clear evidence that money from both of my debit cards was taken from the same ATM at the same time and the criminal investigation is still open. I'm exceedingly frustrated and saddened that I'm needing to write this review. I've been a coop member for over 10 years and have been helped immensely over the years but cannot accept the quality of service in response to my claim when I've received such great care in times past. My only recourse now, besides a law suit, has been to withdraw my money and write a negative review in order to warn others not to open a business account there since business accounts don't afford the same protections as individual consumers. BE WARNED! On 5/24/22 4 months after the initial theft, and escalating my dispute through every rank, Asta Cummings, Cathie Nieves, Samira Rajan, and Rebecca Pear who then finally told me that I needed to speak to Paula, on the supervisory committee. I was informed by her, that her review of the matter still did not evince that the bank was in noncompliance with both internal policies and banking regulations in handling my case and that Federal banking Regulation E protects consumers from electronic funds theft but Regulation E does not cover business accounts; therefore, the credit union is not required to provide credit for the lost funds. I have not had the time or the energy to address this kind of injustice. She literally, gave me no assurance that if my business card was stolen again or mailed and stolen again with illicit purchases, that I would have any protections! I certainly cannot be at fault for requesting bank cards to be delivered the only way I was told was available. I did not receive the cards and honestly cannot believe this is my liability. I believe the fault lies with the coop or it's 3rd party vendor that issued the card as either already active or the coop couldn't protect against someone who feigned themselves as me and/or bypassed the security measures. If someone were to come in and rob the bank would my business not be protected?  The logic of crediting my personal account for the stolen funds but not my business when both debit cards were stolen at the same time doesn't add up. I grant the consumer protection law allows my personal account to be credited but i don't believe that is the sole reason any bank would want to do so. It's because there's an ethical reason to do it not only for one account but for both.  Anything less, honestly isn't just. Every bank, police officer and person I've spoken to about this matter, have all said this shouldn't have been a difficult issue. BE WARNED

I have never received poor customer service from a Chase Bank, never!…read more Today Tia kept my winning streak going. I had actually called before and spoke with Tia but didn't know it at the time. When I sat down at her desk, Tia actually remembered our phone conversation. Just as kind as she was on the phone she is in person. She's professional, (I was in and out of her cubicle in under five minutes totally satisfied with my transaction), sweet and very helpful. Added to that she's drop dead gorgeous. A real Queen! I find it hard to understand how others receive poor service from this business. Like really, is it you? Lol. From the time I walked in, security to check-in personnel were so kind. I totally recommend you use Chase and if using this branch ask for Tia. When I gushed over their service Tia informed me her manager is Trini so too the lady that checked me in. Tia herself is from Jamrock. MUST BE all that sweet Caribbean blood flowing through here then. I'm convinced! I walked in with a heavy heart as I was robbed over the weekend but Tia and her fellow staff members helped restore my faith in there still being great humans out in these mean streets. The End.

Carver Bank on 125 street totally disrespected a customer today and I am so disappointed with them…read more The biggest disappointment is this building operates in Harlem 125th street primarily by people of color and I expect more professionalism from them than most places due to it being one of the few Black banks. The man disrespected is a well respected Black senior citizen within this community and the Tri-State area. Before arriving to the bank, he had just single handedly packed five barrels of supplies that he purchased with his own money to be sent to Jamaica (he has no friends or family in Jamaica) as well as donated $800 to be wired to help the people there because of the hurricane. That is just how sincere his character is. He was disrespected by a Black woman with a West Indian accent that may have even been Jamaican herself. She happened to see him standing at the teller's window and came over to assist him. She seemed disgruntled and he asked her why was she so unfriendly? She replied "I'm not a teller!" This woman then abruptly walked away from him. Then the assistant branch manager Ms. Helen walked in at approximately 9:15am and assisted him. I personally will be writing corporate on his behalf and let them know who this rude woman that walked away is. The building has cameras in it. People of this community deserve better. Also, in the past one of the male managers was very curt with this gentleman during closing time as well as being rude behind the teller's glass. Might I add that near closing they are quick to rush people out. These rude employees need to transferred or FIRED! To add insult to injury there were no tellers behind the glass when he arrived there at 9:05am today Saturday November 15, 2025. This never happens when this gentleman banks at the Chase Bank next door.

Really friendly local bank which is extremely in touch with their community and very much an antithesis to some of the Big Chain Banks. I'm definitely a big fan of little facilities like this. This is where I would bank if I lived in Brooklyn for sure.
