The worst and most irresponsible bank manager.
I have had a checking account since 1997 with Citibank at 1265 Castle Hill Ave, Bronx, NY 10462, (347) 647-9519. In August 2021, I went to the branch to add my husband to the account. We provided copies of his passport and driver"s License.
On February 14, 2022, I checked my account, which had over $6,550.00, online and found that my account had been closed and there was a zero balance. I called the bank manager Milagros Velez who informed me that she had closed my account because Citibank had lost my husband's paperwork. Ms. Velez claims to have called to tell me, but I did not answer the phone and that she sent my $6,550.00 in a check through the mail. I have called Citibank customer service, and although they claim that Ms. Velez's action is not appropriate protocol, they claim I have to wait for my check to come in the mail. At Customer Service, I have spoken to Ann, Mary, and Lee ID #MSUP03.
Ms. Velez's and Citibank's actions have affected my direct deposit from Social Security, part-time employment, and retirement check. Collectors call me for bounced checks and not covered auto payments.
I need help getting my money from Citibank and informing people that Citibank, through no fault of your own, can close your account, deprive you of your money, and send your funds through the postal service. read more
