Holy moly, the trend in reviews is correct here. I walk in after work, speak to the teller, who is doing nothing at all. I tell her that my kid is about to lose his first tooth and I'd like to buy some fun coins from them, like golden dollars or half dollars. I get a stare. Very slowly, she replies "so you would like to know if we have any gold dollars?" Yes. "yes we do." A moment passes. Can I buy a few? "do you have an account with us?" No, just cash. "no I can't change money unless you have an account with us." we stare at each other for a moment. I thank her for her help and walk out the door, shaking my head. Businesses run on goodwill. TD Bank at this location comes in handy when I need quick cash. The security guard is the nicest one working in there. The teller I spoke to answered my questions but I felt she could have been friendlier. I don't mind since I'm not a regular branch customer. I'll return when I need something. It's clean and has the hand sanitizer handy and that's what's important to me right now. read more

They opened up my TD checking account swiftly with my casino winnings. It only took a day for the foreign check to process from the online casino. Then I tried to cash a check for around $400 from social security with my previous balance covering the funds over $1000 and it took over 8 days. Then I chose them as direct deposit to social security and its only just now appearing in their system, after my purse was stolen and I moved out of NY state. They aren't allowing me bank access though its very clear who i am and it should be verified through the questions, my social security number, etc. the problem is there is no bank in the entire state Im in and the closest one is an hour away, and I dont have a car at the moment. They wont allow me access to my account despite I have my username and password correct, I have a temporary license from the DMV and they are saying they wont accept it even in person. I believe my payments went to TD bank from social security. in summary they have made my life extremely difficult were rude and unsympathetic, Im worried they stole my social security backpayments or payments because I couldnt track my June or July payments and still dont know who got them, and my former payee claims to not have received them leaving them as plausible and I knew this would happen but I have to wait until my license comes in the mail, drive over 45 hours to a bank with my passport and license just to have access to my account and i dont even know if they will deny me service or if they did in fact steal my payments but if they did I have to sue and I will report them. read more

This branch is not good at all. The service here is always lackluster, in addition to this the employees are extremely apathetic (to put it nicely) and this creates a barrier in getting this accomplished, especially in a timely manner. I don't advise anyone to bank with TD bank and most certainly not this branch. There is inadequate leadership that does not allow for this bank to perform well . America's Most Inconvenient Bank. They were great when they were Commerce Bank. They've totally gone down the tubes. "Same legendary service" as Commerce Bank, they say. I don't think so.. I've had constant problems with their new chipped Visa cards. The service, both onsite and on the phone is indifferent at best and sullen or even hostile at worst. Especially when it's to resolve a problem that they caused. They've gotten rid of their last great feature, the Penny Arcade, which changed coins for free. I had to use a Coinstar machine in a grocery store, which charges a steep fee. I've been a customer there for years, and the only reason I still bank there is that changing banks is a big hassle. I'm seriously considering it though, although it's years since I've switched banks. They are now seriously awful. read more

I am closing my bank account with TD today after years of being a customer with this bank - Anyone with eye shot of this review, SIMPLY go somewhere else they do not care about you here. I called Saturday and asked for their hours for Saturday - they said they close at 3, I can at 2:15 and they were closed - my bank card expired and they never sent me a replacement - I knocked on the door and the tellers still behind the counter shouted at me WE'RE CLOSED ! Bad. Guy in front of me needed a cashiers check, but the machine is broken. I asked for quarters because the change machine of my building's laundry room is broken. She said no, since I don't have an account with them. I thought it was strange..I said I just need $10 worth of quarters in exchange for a $10 bill. She said there is a coin shortage. I asked 'which is the answer..no account or coin shortage?' She said TD bank policy is no change. So I went to the TD at 86/3rd and got change with no issue. Seems like she gets paid to sit there and tell people that she cant help them all day long. read more

THE WORST BANK EVER Worst costumer service I have ever received, what one says is different from others. My biggest mistake was to open a credit card with them because the branch manager lied to me that they have the best balance transfer for 4%, meanwhile all other banks had it lower then that, like Chase 2%, Bank of America 3%, etcetera. The craziest thing is that they do not have 0% APR for the first year of opening the credit card like every other credit card in the world. I have very good credit and the best they could do was 18%APR meanwhile the max others offered me was 12%APR. I don't want to write more about them and lose my time, but STAY AWAY FROM TD BANK. There were so many bad experiences with this bank that now I love and appreciate every other credit card and their costumer service, rates, quality, fees and everything else they offer that TD Bank does not. read more

I had a huge argument by phone with one of the TD guys, who offended me saying that $280 of weird fees isn't worth to fight for. I got to this location, wanted to close my account forever because i didn't want to be humiliated by phone anymore (not my favorite thing to get). BUT! Then I met Roma and she calmed me down, and she was very kind to me, and offered a decision after explaining to me everything, which made me think about to reconsider my decision. I have to say that other employees or this exact location (i work right in front of it and visit it pretty often) are really good and always been kind to me. So the PHONE CUSTOMER SERVICE of this bank is poor (and I'm not saying about negotiation, it's about being rude to people and behave like upper-class person), but people at THIS location are amazing, and that's why i give it five stars. read more

The atms work and there's rarely a line for them. If you need a teller, there's usually a wait, even in the middle of a week day. Everyone is very nice and knows what they are doing. If you need to sit with someone be prepared to be there a long while. I've got issues with TD corporate, I don't use my debit card often and it was frozen for non-use and I got zero notification until it was declined when I went to use it. I also changed my name a year ago and was still getting things addressed to my maiden name. This was the reason I went in on a Wednesday afternoon. I waited 10 minutes to see a teller (they only had 1-2 people on). Omar, the teller, told me I needed to sit down with someone and after seeing that there were 4-5 people ahead of me for that, offered to call the 72nd St. branch to see if they had a wait. Which was very nice of him. The 72nd St location was completely empty and I was out in 10 minutes. So the stars are for Omar. read more

This is the worst branch at the worst bank in the USA. Period. Too many problems to list so I'll share just the last one! The ATM Machine at this branch cannot read checks well and very often reads the WRONG AMOUNT on the check you're depositing!!! It omits numbers so your deposit is always less. FUN! And if it makes the mistake on a Monday- the tellers will explain they can't do anything at all until Thursday- when 'the guy' comes to service it. (It's fine TD Bank! - I don't need money! ) It happens enough that they are very familiar with the protocol. The tellers promise it will be corrected because the 'back' tellers always 'catch ' every ATM mistake. And even with me showing them the check print out- showing the exact mistake-- they won't fix it. It will be WEEKS of trying to get MY MONEY BACK. One month, after two emails to corporate and two more visits to the bank, ( never ever call- they won't verify you access on the phone) I finally receive a letter explaining they now see the mistake and made corrections. On top of these serious issues - most of workers are rude. Why do torture yourself? There's a bank on every corner in Manhattan. If you need to speak with a real person, it takes forever to get an issue resolved - particularly if it is refunding a bogus maintenance fee, which they assess randomly if your checking isn't a "relationship" checking. CHECK YOUR STATEMENTS! It's a $24 fee! The tellers are nice. There are usually 2 of them, plus a greeter. There are two ATMS in lobby area, and Penny Arcade inside. The lobby of the bank is huge and the writing area always has all the forms and pens you'll need. NOTE: the good pens are near the tellers (different kind - slimmer versions). Overall, my beef isn't with this branch in particular, but more with TD Bank as a whole. I've been a customer since the Commerce Bank days, but I'm less thrilled with their service these days, and their rates are horrendous. If you have a CD, check your rates at renewal - my savings account interest rates were higher than all of the CD rates available. Bad news. Anyone know a good bank out there in Manhattan? read more

Omg . So if its one thing I cant stand is when you walk in to a place and walk out annoyed. First theres a line which is fine people need to be able to deposit their money or do whatever they have to do. Second, what is the purpose of having security if they cant direct you to anyone. So i walked in and have no idea if i should sit and wait fir somebody to notice im sitting there waiting to be helped or stand on line and tell the clerks that i need help so that they can ask me to sit and wait for somebody‍ so i ended up sitting then someone asked me if i needed customer service i said yes and she walked over to her desk so i followed her. I sat and explained my problem. She said there is nothing wrong but i still cant make transfers on my account. I told her i wanted to close my account she but i forgot my id could we at-least just transfer the money sense i was there. She says just get your id and come back we cant do anything. ummm excuse me can i at least transfer the funds. So i said ok thank you and left. She said nothing. Ummmmm you know I was a cashier for 10 years in different places body language and tone is soo important. I will never step foot in this TD bank again. And, guess what I still cant transfer my funds online. She made me feel like a child but luckily there are plenty of other td banks to go to. This is where i prefer chase over banks like this. Chase has all these miscellaneous crap but they definitely are more pleasant. read more

its just a bank and its td bank thats open 7 days a week, longer hours , free pens , free dog biscuits , friendly tellers (most of the time) fast replacement of your td bank card, fast easy to use atm machines in the lobby, full blast ac keeping the place super cool, fast moving lines , etc, etc,etc. so why is king sadri at this branch on 2nd ave and 77th st and the answer is that my tenant gave me a check and he spelled my name wrong again and sometimes its a problem to deposit so i prefer to deal with it in person with a bank rep which always ends up being corrected without returning the check. before i left i made sure to grab a few pens and the lollipops which i failed to mentioned at the start of the review . on my way back home via 2nd ave and the hot weather makes me wish i stayed inside the bank a little longer. read more
