This school has moved since I attended- however it is truly a pleasure to have attended a school where the staff and owner care about you- and not just your tuition. This is a very fast paced course that covers a lot of information. If you are looking for a student clinic with therapists who will work with you, you have found it. If you are considering attending this school- Check it out! You will not regret it.

This is a great school with lots of potentials for self-development in order to be a great Massage Therapist. Before joining the program I did a big research and analyzed many factors like management, approach towards the students, instructors, tuition, how big the classes are and the most important is - how well the "hands on" material is being taught to the students. We have to realize that this is a career where the acquired skills are the most important, as our hands "speak" about our training. I would love to point that I am already RMT, and in my career I already have had many cases when RMT's from other schools just did not have the same set of skills that I have, and subsequently their patients were living them as clients, and becoming my clients. The program is not easy, but the instructors are great. It is very easy to approach any instructor and seek an answer. Management is great, I can definitely say that this was the best management that I've ever had. I appreciate that the management has a great approach towards the students who might have some "learning disabilities" by researching their problem and presenting the material to the student in a form so he/she can acquire it successfully. On the website I read a review of a person who was not pleased with her massage. Well, this is a school, and if a client came for a massage and the student just started his/her year 1, and is just at the beginning of this new to him/her career, the massage might definitely not be what people got used to receive in a SPA. On the other hand, the client are receiving a massage with a 75% off a regular price. So please, dear clients, respect the students as they are doing their best and really want YOU to feel well! Please visit the student clinic and find your student massage therapist that will provide you a wonderful massage. I had many clients that followed me as a student for 2 years, as well as my classmates had the same. So, come and enjoy a massage! I would emphasize ones again that this a great school for the people who want to receive priceless skills. This is a school for mature people who want to study hard and get their skills on the massage therapy market. Good luck on becoming an RMT.

There's also ZERO job security, and you can get terminated anytime for no reason! I constantly felt uncertain about my position, which created a lot of stress for me (it seemed that this was a common feeling among many others as well). From an academic perspective, I was very concerned about how heavily AI tools seemed to be relied on in creating curriculum. Technology can support education, but programs that require significant tuition should be built through thoughtful academic design and strong educational oversight. Based on my experience, I would recommend researching carefully before accepting a role or enrolling in a program at NIWE.

The tools provided were very low quality. Several students had scissors fall apart during the program, and no replacements were offered. Considering the cost of the program, it's unacceptable that the tools students are required to buy are such poor quality. The training itself was minimal. We were loosely shown how to perform about four haircuts, and even those demonstrations were rushed and poorly explained. There was almost no instruction on fundamentals like how to properly hold scissors, sanitation procedures, or consistent cutting techniques. Now that I'm working in a barbershop, I honestly feel like I'm starting from zero. During orientation, the dean spent a long time talking about her credentials and how strict the academy is about professionalism--no being late, black clothing only, no ripped clothes, and professional conduct. In reality, none of those rules were enforced. One student showed up almost three hours late during orientation and was allowed to stay. The classroom environment was chaotic. Students were yelling, running around, and behaving unprofessionally. At one point someone punched a mannequin so hard it flew across the room and hit me. I filed a safety complaint, but nothing meaningful changed. The final exam process was also concerning. Cheating was widespread, with one student sharing answers with others while the instructor repeatedly left the room. When I reported it, I was told, "Who cares, we just want everyone to pass at this point." Everyone received extremely inflated grades and overly positive feedback regardless of performance. Most students scored close to 100% even when the haircuts were clearly poor. We also never practiced on real models, which left many of us unprepared for real barbershop work. To make things worse, the academy is now withholding my diploma until I pay for the same low-quality tools that many students already had issues with. Overall, the program felt disorganized and unprofessional. I left with debt, poor tools, and very little practical training. I would strongly recommend researching other barber programs before considering NiWE Academy.

Although it's a time consuming process (the front desk make you fill out a host of paperwork) to actually get as far as your massage, it's still well worth it. The students are also incredibly professional, and ask you what temperature you'd like things at, if there's a certain body area you're really looking for help with, etc. etc. They also make a point of checking to see if you're still comfortable when you're left alone to let the stones work their magic. Despite being a school, everyone gets a private cubicle with plenty of sheets, and with the lights lowered and relaxing music playing, it really does feel spa-like. Better yet, at only $35 a massage, it means you can afford to go as often as you'd like!
