Excellent show with incredible lighting and sound with some very cool aerial acts. The show took place in a huge tent which was surprisingly comfortable. The concessions were expensive even by venue standards. $14 for a can of lite beer and $7 for a soft pretzel. Our seats were outstanding facing the center of the stage at eye level. The stage rotates and no matter where you are you will have a good view. My favorite segments were the double dutch group the trampoline acrobats and the woman who swung on a cable by her hair. Her movements were amazing. She must use a lot of Tylenol. The bike finale was a great way to end the show. The music and vocals were also very good and set the tone for each act. This show was one of the best, if not THE BEST, demonstrations of human artistry, emotion, and talent I've ever seen on a live stage. I've never seen a Cirque du Soleil show (or as I like to call it, "Circus - Ole!") My jaw was on the floor throughout the entire performance. Volta blew away any expectations I had for this show. I knew I'd see some cool aerial stunts, but I did not expect to see a very moving, emotional story told through outstanding vocalists, musicians, dancers, AND acrobats (and don't forget the costumes!!). The pure strength and talent of every single cast member blew my mind - I cannot even imagine the YEARS of training you must have to perform in one of these shows. There were definitely moments I was overwhelmed by the lights, sounds, and sparkles. There was so much to see, and I didn't want to miss any of it! I felt like I was turning into my mother towards the end of the show, as I was anxiously on the edge of my seat, worried about someone falling or making a wrong move. It was a good anxiety, though, and kept me fully entertained. The entire show, from start to finish, is just a little less than 2 hours, and that includes a 25 minute intermission. The venue is very nice - it looks like a real circus tent! I was worried it'd be hot inside, given the temperatures outside, but it was very pleasant. In fact, if you're prone to chills, I might bring a light cardigan or something. There are your typical overpriced concessions - $5 bottles of soda/ water, $12 beers, $15 wine. The food selection is pretty scarce, so I would definitely plan on grabbing dinner somewhere else prior to the show. There are really no bad seats in the house, and crowds and parking were extremely manageable - way better than I anticipated. Just be careful leaving the parking lot, because this is a very dark, fairly rural area of PA and is prone to deer. Thank you SO SO SO much to the entire Yelp Philly team. Thrilling performance! Cirque Du Soleil was fun!! I really enjoyed the special effects of the show as well as cool stunts done well by skilled performers. The costumes were awesome! The tent was actually quite nice with cushioned seating. The only issue with seating is that you're quite snug and very close to the person next to you, so it's really not a lot of adjustments or movements to be made. The upside is no matter where you sit, you'll have a good view of the stage. Everything was seamless as far a arrival with good signage directing you to the venue; ease of parking; ticket scanning; and assistance with finding our seats. All the staff we encountered was very friendly and professional. We enjoyed the show and was absolutely entertained! It was a terrific summer night to see this show! Totally, totally AWESOME. Cirque Du Soleil never disappoints! My fist experience was Michael Jackson 'ONE' in Las Vegas which is a hard act to follow but, VOLTA is up to the task! Thanks to Michelle and YE team along with any other sponsors of this exciting and breathtaking experience. Before you enter the 'big tent' there is a pop up beer garden that sells bites, drinks and beer. Once inside you will find multiple vendors selling food, drinks and Cirque VOLTA selling their wares and goods. I purchased a lovely program and a beautifully designed 'shopping bag' my total was a mere $25. This was nothing considering this was a sponsored Yelp Elite Event with FREE did I say FREE parking?!!! This show was filled with every childhood memory of games, gymnastics, jump rope, roller skating, dancing and plain ole daydreaming. So many unique artistic skills on display in one show. My favorite was the jump rope team. But the entire show was Spectacular!!! read more

This is the second Cirque du Soleil show I've seen, and it did not fail to impress! Let's start with the venue. Ample free parking, impressive tent set-up (looks especially cool lit up at night), nice and clean on the inside and outside. Bag/security check at entry. Lots of flushing porta-potties and sinks with running water provided outside the tent. Every employee we encountered was very friendly. In the arena itself, there are few bad seats -- great views from all angles; however, the seats are WAY too narrow and close together. Keep this in mind if you want to enjoy a snack during the show (I think the nachos might be difficult to maneuver). Also, no arm rests. Our show was not sold out so many people, including us, moved over and around to be more comfortable. Speaking of snacks, the popcorn was terrible, especially for how overpriced it is. Pass on that. The show itself is approximately 2 hours long with a 25-minute intermission about halfway through. The acts are all so amazing and beautiful and just overall entertaining. The live music was phenomenal, as expected. Lots of color and movement -- you won't be bored! Appropriate for kids and adults of all ages. Cirque shows are known for their bright colors, the costumes, beautiful music, and their ability to mesmerize and amaze. Volta does not disappoint in any of these. It takes the ordinary and makes it extraordinary, such as double Dutch jump rope, baton twirling, and some cheerleading moves on steroids. The BMX bike finale is simply spectacular. This was my 7th or 8th Cirque show. I saw this one in Oaks, PA last night. The one thing I noticed that this show lacks is some of the comedy in other shows. . .with no real clowns. But if you've never been to a Cirque show it will "wow" you. If you have been, it won't disappoint. read more

I have seen Cirque de Soleil in the past but I wasn't sure what to expect because this is a traveling show. I was wondering how exciting the show would be under the big top, I was concerned that the performers would be limited. I was extremely pleased & amazed at the magnitude of this production's capabilities. I found this show to be cutting edge, elegant, heart stopping, humorous, glamorous, & breath taking. All of the performers are so highly skilled, I was watching the whole show in amazement and so was my family. I enjoyed the trampoline, the ladder, the lamp, the trick bikes, the unicycle, the jump ropes, baton performer & everything. There are spots of some comic relief too. I don't want to give away the best parts of the show so I'm purposely being vague. The New Age music, songs, costumes, the inner workings of the stage were thoroughly enjoyable. This is a show worth the ticket price and more besides! Please do yourself a favor and treat yourself and someone you love to VOLTA! I'm confident you'll be intrigued, amazed, and breathless in the audience. It's rare that we suburbanites have exciting productions like this nearby and this one is a "WOW" - not to be missed!! Thank you to our Philadelphia Community Leader, Michele and all of the others who worked tirelessly to give us this dazzling treat. This show is a definite high point in my summer! I think this show was very entertaining. I've seen some other Cirque shows (The Beatles Love and another one in Vegas) and the Beatles one is still my all time favorite. I've seen that one twice it's so good! In saying that, this one was different but still enjoyable. I don't want to spoil anything for anyone that might be going to see it so I'll try and be vague in my descriptions. There are acts like juggling, jump roping, extreme bike riding, aerial stuff, and more (I don't want to give it away). All the performers are very talented. My absolute favorite portion was the part with trampoline artists. It was crazy to see how coordinated they are together. The venue is so cool, you feel like you are actually in a building and not in just a glorified tent. It's air conditioned and actually cold in there! Drinks will put you back a pretty penny...those of the alcoholic kind. I got a sangria and that was $15. A can of bud light is the same price. I'm not sure how much the other concessions were as I did not partake. The show started promptly at 8 and ran almost until 10pm with like a 20-25 minute intermission. Another favorite part of mine was that there was a dude that looked like Pauly D from the Jersey Shore in it. I didn't care for his strange comedic act...but I just was obsessed with the fact he was a spitting image of Pauly D. The music was wonderful as well. It was performed by a live band which is always great. If you are considering going and have some extra cash to burn it's definitely an entertaining show. Do I think it's the best Cirque show I've ever seen? No. But this isn't Vegas people so calm down. Probably should have reviewed this during the summer, but there are still VOLTA shows going on somewhere... We arrived early, but parked at the opposite end of the entrance. We walked over and entered the tent. We had some time to kill, so we looked around. Once we were allowed to enter, we sat down in a theater that almost always has a great seat. The horseshoe pattern allowed different views, but the stage spun at times. Seemed very interesting. The show was a bit harder to follow than other Cirque Du Soleil shows, but was interesting. There were comical aspects between major acts and seemed like it would be a great show for a family. It was an enjoyable evening and I'm glad we were able to make it out. read more

My wife and I got free tickets through Yelp for the show (thanks Michelle and Yelp) We very much enjoyed it. It is amazing how entertaining the show is and how much the human body can do when it is in shape and practiced. The show is about 2 hours long but seemed to pass in a flash because of how entertaining it was. The only small complaint is the overarching story was a little hard to follow. At the end of the day, the attraction here is the individual acts and not the story. Of course all of the drinks, snacks, and souvenirs are pricy but you can expect that at any show. The bottom line is if you want to be entertained and watch people do things that do not seem like they should be possible, this show is for you. read more

Thanks so much to Yelp and Michelle for helping us out with the free tickets! It was perfect because we had seen the signs up around the area, and my wife had expressed interest in going to see it! The show itself was really impressive, as expected of Cirque du Soleil. There were a lot of different acts throughout the show, and as has been mentioned, those two hours fly by very quickly with all that entertainment value. Many of the acts truly defy what you might think is possible with the human body. Those artists truly are talented! Similar to one I had seen before, story was kind of hard to follow. My wife had looked up the backstory online, so she was able to help me understand what was happening. But, you don't go to Cirque du Soleil for the story; there are movies for that! The tent and everything was set up very nicely as well, and although the restroom was outdoors, it was pretty good. read more

This is the forth Cirque show I have seen and it did not disappoint. The beginning was a little slow, but as things progressed it just got more involved and more amazing. At one point the spinning stage is converted into a two-sided trampoline set up. Later it contains three half pikes. There are aerial acts, a few clever clown pieces and lots of talent. Personally, the highlight of the show was the hair hanging performance by Danila Bim. It was powerful and beautifully choreographed. Amazing. The costumes are brighter and a bit more silly than Cirques from the past, but overall the show is incredible. read more

Cirque Du Soleil VOLTA may very well be one of the best Yelp Elite perks up to date. I won't lie, I had my doubts about the venue. I quickly took back all of my skepticism when I walked in. It was so well put together and organized, especially considering it took place in a tent. For starters, the security process went very quickly and it was super easy to locate our tickets from will-call. I was amazed at all that they had to offer - from food and beverages to a souvenir shop, it felt like they had it all! The bathroom consisted of porta pottys lined up against a wall. I know what you're thinking... EW. But, these were THE cleanest porta pottys I've ever used. Thank goodness for that! The show was nothing short of spectacular. I was absolutely mesmerized by the entire thing. The performers kept me on the edge of my seat. I also must mention that the seats we were given were incredible. There really was no bad seat in the house but we were extremely close to the stage which made it that much better. Thank you to Yelp, Cirque Du Soleil, and everyone else involved for a magical evening! I look forward to attending more shows in the future! read more

I hate to say this but we were not impressed by this show. We have seen 6 other Cirque shows, 5 in Las Vegas. This one just didn't hit the mark. There is no doubt the performers are talented but there was no wow factor as there are in other Cirque shows. Beatles Love and O at the Bellagio are so amazing we have seen them twice. The venue is so far off the beaten path we were sure we were lost, even with gps. Still, grateful for the free tickets from Yelp. read more

My family and I were fortunate enough to be in the D.C. area when VOLTA was on tour. We all loved every single minute of the performance. The story and message behind the performance is something we can all learn and should live by: be comfortable in your own skin and look at your differences as personal superpowers. My children (ages 7 and 10) sat through the entire show and probably could have sat through another hour or so of performance. The performers/artists were all extremely talented and put on a wonderful show. I highly recommend trying to get tickets if/when they are in your area. read more

Awesome show! I've been to a few Cirque Du Soleil shows, most were ones with fixed sets in Vegas, but I did see 1 traveling one. This one was better that that in so many ways. The venue was a cool big top that was a throw back to circuses, but with the style that you would associate with CDS. This was basically a collection of cool human tricks you've seen on youtube, but it's so much better live. There is a modern day jester, live vocals and music, acrobats, gymnastics, ballet/modern dance, hyped up double dutch, tumbling, rope work, power rings work, trampoline work, a unicycle, bike tricks, a woman who swings around and spins with her hair tied to a long wire cable. All of this wrapped up with beautiful costumes and an amazing multi purpose and ever dynamic set. There's a lot of sit at the edge of your seat anxiousness when watching these dangerous and some what death defying feats. There is often a lot going on, great music and vocals, with interactive sync'd lights, and moving set pieces. There's a story that ties the different acts together some what, cohesive story. All in all, a great experience and way beyond my expectations of a traveling show. It's like 70% of what i would expect from a cirque du soleil show with a fixed set. Great if you love beautiful costumes, ethereal music pieces, and dope human tricks. read more

Awesome show! My jaw was dropped almost the entire time! It's incredible what humans can do with their bodies. I liked how the show followed a story line and the acrobatics encompasses and enhanced the story. The stage and seating was nicely proportioned so even the back seats still got a view without needed binoculars. Parking was easy, with signs directing you to the event parking. The food and beverages are pretty pricey but still managed to splurge on $7 popcorn and $15 Moscow mules. read more

It was more than I was expecting but the show style was a bit underwhelming. The stage itself is amazing. I've seen a few Cirque du Soleil shows in Vegas and I wasn't expecting the stage to articulate but it did! That was awesome and a huge plus to the performances. The performances were also very entertaining and well executed. The only downside to this show was the way it was structured. The show ends with bicycle tricks, not typical Cirque du Soleil acts. If i wanted to see BMX tricks I'd watch the x games. I wanted more of the first act. All in all it was an entertaining night. Let me begin by saying that I REALLY wanted to love this show. I REALLY did. My friend had tickets to the Wednesday night show (the show is running through August 26th) so I left work early, and hopped on a train excited to attend one of the legendary Cirque shows...I left a bit disappointed. The display of skill and strength exhibited by ALL of the performers cannot be overstated. The show is incredibly well rehearsed and you will be hard pressed to find a missed step. The costumes and makeup were bright and creative and the vocal and violin performances by the two soloist were highlights of the show (the music is available on iTunes). That being said, in the age of YouTube, Vines, and Instagram, the bar for creativity has been raised. These forms of social media mean that the creatively awesome and awesomely stupid steps of humanity are recorded and made instantly available to millions of people. Examples...the otaku double dutchers were clothed in beautifully sequined costumes, but more intricate and impressive routines (performed often by very young girls) are to be found all over YouTube. I had similar thoughts about the dancing in the "Mr. Wow" show... The show ended, quite unexpectedly, with BXM riders on a halfpipe demonstrating again, great strength, but skills that are easily witnessed at a city park. Sadly, there was no real conclusion to the story and, as I stated above, the show ends somewhat abruptly. I have heard really good things about the show in Vegas, and if I am ever out that way, I will certainly give the Cirque another chance. I would recommend Volta if you have free or heavily discounted tickets but could not recommend paying some of the listed prices. read more

It's always been a dream of mine to attend a Cirque Du Soleil show. I've loved the circus since I was a child and Cirque is like the Gucci of the Circus world (at least here in the US). I was beyond thrilled to have gotten a completely pair of tickets (thanks Yelp!) and couldn't wait to get off work early enough to see it. The evening got off to a bit of a rocky start as the circus was set up in the middle of nowhere and GPS has a bit of a hard time finding it. But once we did, the location offered plenty of (free!) parking all very close to the entrance. Considering this is a traveling circus act I was very surprised at how clean and well organized all the tents and seating were. Once inside you quickly forget you're in a tent and not a building. As for the act itself, I was disappointed. After all the hype and clips I saw online, this really was not the circus I expected. The whole show has a story line going through it, a young boy who feels weird and different from his peers but then learns to embrace it. I loved having a theme to connect all the acts. They really used technology in the lighting, music and short clips that brought the story to life. The technology used was initially impressive but given that the last time I went to the circus was in elementary school, it's too be expected that the technology use would increase as well. The acts were mainly a lot of singing, dancing, a clown, and some gymnastics. None of the jaw dropping acrobats and trapezes work I expected. I suppose that, given that it's a traveling show and the tent set up was much smaller than a big theater stage they could only do so much. But that left a lot of the acts disappointing. The BMX tricks at the end really were something that you'd just see at a local skate park, but the bikers didn't really have much room to get air or speed. Overall I'm grateful for the opportunity to see the show and it was a fun circus show. Just not living up to the Cirque hype. read more

The show was amazing and visually stunning. I definitely felt that they delivered a Las Vegas caliber Cirque du Soleil show on a much smaller stage. I enjoyed every act. I would describe the music as New Age. There were also musicians in the show singing, playing guitar, violin, etc. Everyone was so talented. I think my favorite act was the bikes on the ramps. The show ran about an hour and a half with a 25 minute intermission. The location was easy to find and parking was free. I felt that the concessions were more overpriced than I expected. My boyfriend got the popcorn and it was awful - not hot and way too salty. I think it was around $7. Bottle of water was $5. As silly as it sounds, the portable rest rooms were nice and clean with toilets that actually flushed, which I really appreciated. All I can say is WOW! They put on the most amazing show I have ever seen. VOLTA is under the big top but you in no way feel like your in a "big tent", the floors are real floors (not the grass of black top the big top is set up on), we went in the summer and the big top was air conditioned, and the show it is beyond anything you could imagine, the music pumps so loud you can feel it, the performers are true masters of their crafts from the BMX riders to the acrobats and the lady who swings by her hair. Truly amazing. The one we went to parking was FREE. They really spare no expenses to put on the new greatest show on earth. read more

What a great show! Equal parts amazing, hilarious, and entertaining! This was the first Cirque show I took my sons to. They were completely enthralled by the entire thing. Seeing a show under the big top was really awesome. There wasn't a bad seat in the house. Everything was so organized, and it was easy to find our entrance, section, row, and seats. They were all clearly marked. I also feel like the performers in this show completely love what they're doing. When they came out to take their final bows at the end of the show, every performer had a hige grin on their face. They waved to the crowd, and appeared to be having a wonderful time. That makes me love Cirque all that much more! read more
