He looked around, and asked me to call back so he could call his manager, finally found costume and then asked me if I want to reserve it. I had reserved it at least six weeks prior. Then he asked me if I had paid for it yes. He told me to bring in receipt. It was filthy!! Chunks of ??? hair, leaves. I took photos there before I left the shop. I told him this was unacceptable. He agreed and apologized. Said manager would be there when I brought it back and I could talk to her then. I took it home vacuumed the chunks, used a Lint roller to pick up bits the vacuum could not pick up. Sewed part of the hat back on to the head where threads had broken causing the hat to tilt at an odd angle partly covering the eyes. I brought it back with photographs to show manager how nasty it was. She was not there. On duty clerk lied to me about who the manager was. (Gee, I wonder why she does not want her name given out.) He called her and he said she said there was nothing to do about it because we had accepted it in that condition. I was scheduled for an event the next morning with a number of children for photos. What could I have done? A promise is a promise. I guess the owners/manager don't consider a mascot costume rental agreement a promise. Do NOT trust this place/these people.

I decided to walk around a bit, maybe they had something hidden. Not really, just some tacky Halloween costumes and overpriced junk jewelry. However, what really turned me off was this. I went over to a cabinet and saw a flask with a confederate flag on it.. I kind of just rolled my eyes thinking that this is the south compared to where I'm from. However, on the shelf below it there was Nazi paraphernalia being sold. One of the tags literally said "Nazi $120.00". Swastikas and all. Now, this may be legal (no idea on the US laws about that), however it is very distasteful I don't appreciate that at all. If the owner bought it from somewhere, WHY. I get that's it's historical but it's very offensive to me personally. I kept thinking of the episode of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia where the museum curator tries to call the cops on Charlie for trying to sell old Nazi uniforms. Am I missing something? Is this an okay thing to do?

They said to leave the machine and they'd have the repairman take a look at it. They said it might be up to 2 weeks. But in just a few days they sent me a text/email saying my machine was ready. I picked it up the next day. Not only was the problem fixed but on the bill it said they had cleaned and oiled my machine. The charge the lady had quoted me was what I was charged and they had done the extra work of cleaning and oiling my machine also. Very nice people to do business with. I would recommend them to anyone wanting a repair on their machine. I used my machine just today and it sews like the wonderful machine it has been since I bought it in 1962. Great job University of Sewing.

I spoke with the owner and their attention to detail and her ability to recall the fabrics that they have in the shop is amazing. I showed her a picture of something I was interested in that I had seen in Noblesville and took her a little bit, but they chased it down so I was happy to take some home. The selection and the pricing on everything was perfect. Will be back!

She also did a dress for our officiant and it turned out perfectly. Pricing was very reasonable, and the service was unparalleled.

The clerk mentioned that they often get requests for fabric from other Joann's around the area due to the supply at this location.
