Walking into For the Love of Pete is like walking INTO Pintrest in real life! This resource is a…read moregreat rental source for any party, but especially a wedding. It lets you achieve all the "DIY" things you thought you could do and wanted to do but in reality didn't have to do. Our wedding was still a very DIY, family run affair but the special touches from this rental made all the difference. A lot of places like this are only found in Portland or just plain impossible to find so I felt so lucky it was down here in Salem! They were very patient and professional with me, being one of the first weddings of the season (early April) and sat with me and my now wife in the shop through two longer than expected occasions going through our order, changing little details to stay on our budget and giving helpful suggestions. Then Dorri also have multiple phone calls with me before and during the wedding sorting out more details and helping me pick out furniture pieces over the phone. Her descriptions and consideration were right on point and the pieces worked out perfectly even though I didn't get to see them in person as I was choosing them! She even offered to special order us "Mrs. & Mrs." pillows or signs when she saw me notice the cute "Mr. & Mrs." signs. We opted not to but such consideration meant a lot to me. During peak wedding season they don't deliver but being an early wedding we got lucky! The delivery guy could have been a little more punctual (40 min late, because his phone died and he had no directions) and things had slid and fallen in the truck in transit. Amazingly enough out of a full box of fallen ceramic plates not one broke! But he did get the unloading and reloading done quickly and the delivery option was a real deal sealer for us. I would encourage the business to try to maintain this option even during peak season if they can (maybe with a higher charge if need be?) It's such a time saver and stress relief for a busy bride to not have to think about how, and when, and who will safely transport all these decor items. One banner got swapped out with the wrong one but when I let Dorri know she was surprised and sorry, and my mother in law came and picked it up the very next day. Dorri even let us keep the one that was added on accident and the one we did request for no extra fee. Also having the rentals for three full days was SO helpful for a family run wedding to set up the day before and tear down the day after! Our guests seemed to really love all the vintage and personal touches the items we rented gave to the personal feeling of our wedding. The whimsical rustic tables made each space feel special. So many guests commented on and asked where we got the vintage cutlery (almost all the tea cups for coffee got used! Partly I think b/c people wanted to pick out their favorite retro tea cup ;) and the cake display was exactly as I had hoped it would be! Thank you so much Dorri and your staff for making our wedding over the top lovely with your rental items!

Their online planning tool is simply AMAZING and I could tell this wasn't their first rodeo. Allen provided some of the best customer service I have ever received in answering some questions and providing support regarding a unique situation with our wedding, and I knew it go off without a hitch. I had the pleasure of speaking with our DJ, Greyson, the day before our wedding and I could already tell that he was an awesome fit for our group. Greyson kept us on schedule, worked fabulously with our guests, took care of some last minute changes AND taught us a few moves on the dance floor. The best part? He didn't lose any steam when 2/3 of our guests left well before the end of the reception. He kept the party going up until the minute we closed things down. Can't recommend this company enough and can't wait to work with them again.

Jack was our DJ and he was incredible. Leading up to the wedding he was so chill, answered all of our questions, was so patient, worked with the venue to figure out the set up in advance, collaborated so well with our sax player, and during our actual wedding he made pivots whenever we asked him to. Even late night after our photographer left he captured some INCREDIBLE candid photos without us even knowing because he knew that there wouldn't be professional ones taken!! He went above and beyond. We actually found out about Apogee because we went to a family friend's wedding and they were the DJs which is how we found out about them. They're so kind, so responsive, offered so much guidance, etc. The DJ set up at the actual venue was understated and classy, Jack MC'd the event perfectly, we had a Photo Booth which was awesome.....they literally went above and beyond in every way. If you're needing a DJ, look no further -- you MUST HIRE Apogee!!!!!!!!!! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you Apogee for making our wedding (and the planning leading up to it) so seamless and wonderful. Sarah and James

I told him there's a couple girls inside to have one help he said no their office girls. and the guys are on delivery. so he got in the U-Haul and slid the tables as I unloaded and stacked them against the wall and stacked the chairs on carts. The carousel is indoors so that's a nice perk when it's cold or rainy. It's a large carousel with different animals as well as some benches, and they're adding others soon--including a U of O themed duck. The rides are pretty inexpensive at $2 each; you'll buy tokens at the gift shop. (They only take cards with a minimum $5 purchase.) Alternatively, you can pay $15 for unlimited rides for the day. The gift shop has lots of stuff... except t-shirts, which they were out of the day we came in and that was a bummer since I'd wanted to get one for the little one. There are indoor toilets here (yay) and they have some vendors--at least, there as a cotton candy vendor here when we visited. They also rent the space out and there was a nice private room off to the side of the carousel. There's lots of parking here since it's part of the overall Riverfront Park.

When I walked in, the cashier promptly stood up, but I was trying to pull up the photo of my berry pass so I waited off to the side. A woman paid and I overheard the cashier mention that she needs the physical berry pass so I scooted behind the person who was in line next since I no longer had to find the photo on my phone. The people who came into the shop created a fork in the line, so I let them go in front of me because I was the one who caused the confusion. After they paid, the cashier would not accept that I was waiting in line, however, the woman she tried to help told me to go. The cashier scoffed when I came up to the counter. Then she was very abrupt with my sale, and as I was leaving I heard her tell the woman who let me go, "that was very kind of you." I turned around and said, "I've literally been waiting in line" to which the woman said, "I know you have." but the cashier wouldn't even look at me. It was not a great experience for me. Thankfully my daughter was oblivious to the encounter and enjoyed the ride itself.
