It's a small and intimate theatre especially before patrons are let into the theatre, everyone just hung around in the prefunction area. They have a small snack bar where you can get some drinks and snacks. No food and drinks allowed inside the theatre. Restrooms also downstairs. Not very big but sufficient for the small theatre. This was my first experience with Panto and it was amazing, so festive and entertaining. I love it so much this will be my new holiday tradition going to this show starting this year on! Our seats were excellent! I did an extensive research on what seats to pick. My normal go to seat for like the Orpheum theatre will be the balcony but for this smaller theatre and the theme of the show, I decided orchestra will be the best bet. Turned out I was right. Panto is an interactive, fun, playful, laugh out loud kind of show that fit for both adults and kids. Not to forget the amazing costumes and stage sets, yay for Panto!

The staff is always pleasant and the 3 different theater spaces each have a special charm. It's a vibrant, inclusive home for creativity, growth, and community. Located in the heart of San Francisco, NCTC's mission to support artists, youth, and the queer and allied communities isn't just words on a wall--it's felt in every class, every conversation, and every corner of this beautiful space. I recently completed their Adult Scene Study class with the incomparable Jeffery Draper, and I can honestly say it was one of the most enriching and inspiring experiences of my adult life. Whether you're just stepping into acting or sharpening your skills, this class offers a fun, supportive environment where you can take bold risks, discover new layers of your craft, and connect with other passionate creatives. Each week, we explored character, motivation, and storytelling in ways that were both challenging and rewarding. Jeffery's direction was equal parts insightful and encouraging, he meets you where you are and helps you rise. The space itself is warm, professional, and beautifully maintained, from the intimate black box theater to the cozy lobby and rehearsal rooms. If you're looking for a place to grow as an artist, to be seen and supported, or just to try something new in a welcoming environment, run to NCTC. Their adult drama classes are exceptional, and the community they've built is something truly special.

Such a great venue for a small, local theatre!…read more There is no bad seat in here. It's intimate and fun. Their shows have no business being that good. Bathrooms are clean and service is wonderful. I love the space--it's located upstairs in a hotel near Union Square. Support local theatre! Audience skews older. I think they need to market to younger people on social media more.

I discovered this charming little theatre by accident when I saw that "M. Butterfly" (Madame…read moreButterfly) was playing here for a whole week during a very convenient time. I had always wanted to see this classic story on stage so I jumped at the opportunity. It is a small theatre so chances of a sold out show is high; definitely purchase tickets early. It is a small theatre hidden within the Kensington hotel on the second floor. There is a small bar area on the main floor of the theatre. Bathrooms were nice and clean. The front row of the balcony are the best seats and offers a perfect view of the stage; you can see everything as well as have a clear view of the actors' faces and the emotions. I think any row beyond the accessible seats you might have some obstruction from heads and may need to lean forward a little to see what's happening. I'd love to see more shows here. M. Butterfly had an excellent cast. The play was moving and enhanced so much history, culture, politics, romance, drama, gender, and sexuality.
