I spoke with Shane Savage regarding what the outdoor range renting process is and he was super friendly and patient with my questions and guided me through it. It is super simple. You reserve a date and time and hopefully it's open, he sends you a confirmation text and you simply show up. He met with me, gave me a wagon with a fold-up table, free paper target (per person), a staple gun, a bucket to collect your brass, and fold-up chairs. It was a smaller range, but perfect for us, There were both wooden target stands to hang your targets (free to use) and steel targets (for $5 extra or $1 extra for more paper targets). My sons and I were the only ones there so it was nice and private. We signed a waiver, setup our own station, put up targets, and had fun safely shooting your weapon(s). The range is about 50yds, but I specifically brought my kids here so they'd get used to a few of our home defense additions at a realistic distance. He does ask that you pick up and collect your trash and brass. I'd recommend bringing water to drink and a trash bag for your convenience. There is a restroom available. It's a field, so there's really enough parking for you. Shane sits in his truck for the duration of your stay and for any questions or requests that you may have later on. The range is $20 to rent for 2 hours per person, but if you come with more people, there's a discounted price. It was $45 for the 3 of us. I know Shane also teaches classes on safety and other courses, but we've never used those services, but according to the numerous 5 star Google reviews that I've read, it's safe to assume he's an amazing instructor. And I walked away learning so much, my aim has changed and I learned how to focus differently. No matter the age or how long you've been shooting. Taking a fresher course is a good idea. I used my stock Glock 19 - 9mm with just a light no extras for the class. Here are my observations: 1. Glenn is very patient 2. The way he speaks and terms used was simple and easily understood. From beginners to experienced shooters. 3. HE IS VERY MINDFUL of GUN SAFETY, (which I like). He makes sure to clear his own gun several times before demonstrating anything for the student. And reminds to clear our own gun and holster it prior to moving around. He did this continuously throughout our time together. Awesome! 4. His teaching process is step by step and easy to follow. 5. He taught proper grip and pressure where needed and where to keep a looser grip. 6. He showed how to aim and where my focus point needed to be with these 50+ year old eyes and I was so much more accurate. 7. Glenn has a passion to teach shooting and he cares. You can sense it when you take his class. It's not a money grab for him. I highly recommend taking Iron Soul Tactical shooting classes taught by Glenn. You will walk away learning something new about your ability, have lots of fun and be a better shooter. Glenn is a really nice guy and a veteran. He's also an excellent shooter, that's probably the only part I don't like about him. J/K. Go take his class you won't regret it. And you'll have lots of fun.

This was the 2nd pistol marksmanship class that I have taken. David's class was far and away…read moresuperior to the 1st class. His ability to diagnose what you are doing wrong, and then correct it is what stands out in my mind. As an example, early on in the class I was dropping the front of the pistol in anticipation of trying to see what I had hit on the shot. He tried to correct me verbally, but I was not getting it. So, he got out his phone, videoed me while shooting, then played the video back to me. I was able to see what I was doing wrong, and correct. At another point in the class, I was not focusing correctly on the front site when pressing the trigger, and again, I was not getting the verbal correction. David pulled out a photo of a page with three images. 1st image was the rear site in focus, with the front and target blurred. 2nd was the rear and front blurred, with the target in focus. 3rd had the rear site and target blurred, with the front site in focus. I got it. David knows what he is doing, and is an excellent instructor.
