An absolute MUST STOP along I-35 and now my second visit to West, Texas (not West Texas, which is…read morecompletely different). I've been to the other one and now I am here. And while the other one is great and fabulous, this one is one star better. A huge selection of baked goods, coffee, decor, clothing, drinks and more. The Kissing Pig Cafe has so many food options, too! Mrs. K. has not had a kolache in years and she's now pescatarian which presents certain challenges. It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. So much great stuff to choose from here and very, very clean restrooms. If you're overwhelmed by that massive baked goods counter, just ask for recommendations. They'll get you sorted for sure! Excellent selection of kolaches and klobasneky. You can also buy sandwiches. Minus: as on previous visits, I have found that they are often out of poppyseed and prune kolaches. Not the servers' fault but you would think management would be keen to bake more of what sells most. Then there are the sandwiches. If you want pork, you'll get value. But if you want brisket, look out! I've never seen a more miserly portion offered for 13 dollars. I understand that brisket is expensive now. But I still get it at various restaurants and have to say that it was a five dollar sandwich for thirteen bucks. Additionally, the sandwich maker apparently does not know what and order for "moist" brisket means. Mine proved rather dry.

Not your typical convenience store. This is the home of the slurpee. I have been having them for…read moreover 40 years. They have a lot of their own 7 eleven brand name items. They offer many varieties of coffee and have I believe capachino. They have had a sale on their store brand candy for quite a while. Stuff like cherry sours and gummy bears 2 for 2. Can always seem to find some chips on sale. They have more to offer than just hot dogs. They offer hot pizza I believe wings and egg rolls and many hot things. They will cook for you while you are there if they don't have an item ready. Of course they have all the sodas beer and cigarettes. They have a thing where if you buy the tray and tortilla chips you can put your own chili and cheese and they have a topping bar. The bar is for the dogs as well. Employees have been friendly and the gas prices are fairly reasonable. Check into getting refill glasses if you plan on coming often. They also have a good selection of fountain drinks if I remember. I don't usually get other drinks instead of the slurpee. I really like them. They come in at least 6-8 flavors. Tried the pizza and it was decent. Not authentic but good for a gas station. Comparable to the hot ones at Walmart and Little Caesars. Pretty good for a convenience store.

One of two slurpee machines. There are eight flavors. My favorite Dr Pepper was out so I settled for Coca Cola.

Interesting how these 7-11 chips taste like steak. Almost tempted to try dipping them in A-1.

The gentleman that helps in the morning is rude and talks on the phone with some female in another language on speaker phone at full volume while checking you out. So god forbid you have a question or need something other than what you put on the counter. I've even had to say, are you speaking to me? He rudely says NO! It's rude and disrespectful as a paying customer. The nighttime staff is GREAT! If you need something I would recommend going at night or better yet just go down the street to the stripes or other two stations. Friendlier faces and they actually have a conversation with you. Every since new owners took over, it hasn't been the same. No prices on any of the products in the building. Gas pumps never have paper in the machines. One of the pumps leak gas from the line. Buttons are usually missing from the pumps as well. Air machine never works. It truly has gone down hill. The parking lot is full of potholes.
