This dollar general like most is in need of help and the right training. They are a big company and…read moreshould not struggle with things that should be trained. We recently bought curtain rods and got the wrong ones. We had the digital receipt (the only receipt ). When we went to return the items the mgr on duty Monica said that she is not allowed to accept a digital receipt. Even though that is proof a payment she said she needed a paper receipt even though one wasn't issued. She also called the store manager and he also said that he said not to give a refund. These things need to be day one training along with customer service. When we said that Corp needed to be called for this problem she said "Go ahead they know who I am already!" Ooooooh heck nah. Just be warned. Good luck if you want to come here.

The man in front of me was visibly annoyed at the fact we all had to wait. So when it was his turn he tried giving her a hard time about how she should hire help. To what she replied beautifully. The truth was workers want to work but there is no budget to pay them with. And it's how a lot of companies are running their business to the growing because of over worked and underpaid workers. Me and my partner thanked her for showing up tI work and doing a great job. The man left annoyed and mad we stood up for her. And also the lady behind us also expresses her gratitude. Sometimes we as people forget that we are all human and just trying to make it. No need to be rude. I said all this to say. Practice patience and gratitude. And give the employees that show up some grace. The bad reviews just cus you had to wait are crazy to me. Anyway. Carry on.

Problem with Canyon Golf Market is their prices are very inconsistent and none of them are listed. It also changes at the whim of whoever is working. I don't mind spending a little extra money for the convenience but this is shady business practices and isn't fair to consumers. Also their prices are not just slightly high they are exorbitant. At least double what you'll pay at H-E-B if not triple depending on what you're buying. I've been phasing out of shopping here but it's a bummer when it's so close and convenient.

I too was also upset about instant changes of pricing on gas from park to payment but I after complaining to the store manager Adolfo (I hope I spelled that right), learned the staff have zero control over the prices and corporate controls the prices based on the surrounding fuel stations, like Circle K across the street, to stay competitive. I do love their promotion for 20 cents off gas per gallon and I hope they bring it back. I've have experienced some above and beyond measures from some of their staff, like David, who always asks me how I am doing and always gets me to smile, even on my worst days. I've seen Lacey (hope I spelled that right) do sign language for a couple who needed assistance. They have a new hire, forgive me as I don't recall her name, but she was wearing a black veteran hat, and she assisted me with putting air in my tire. I had cash and did not realize the machine was one of those electronic tap to pay things. She paid for the air machine and assisted me with my tire. She also checked my other three tires and filled those up and even showed me how to see it on my car screen for the future. David, Lacey, new veteran girl, you guys rock. Keep it up. Also love the touch of Christmas decorations in the store.
