Disrespectful service…read more I was buying a muffin and a drink. The self-serve checkout line was long so I decided to get in line for a cashier. In front of me was a woman with a pretty full cart, but I was willing to wait, and it seemed like the quickest option. There was no one behind me in line. When the woman in front of me had finished unloading her cart, the cashier came around the till. She made eye contact with me, glanced down at my basket with two items, and put her closed till sign behind the other woman's groceries. She then turns, looks me directly in the eyes again, and with a smile says, "find a different lane." I had two items. I understand that you needed to close, to go on break or something, but how do look a customer in the eye and tell them to find a different lane than the one they had been waiting in for about 5mins? Would it have inconvenienced you to spend an extra 2mins helping a customer? I had to go to a different line to purchase my items. I left the store angry and embarrassed. If you are going to shop here please know: 1. selection is not the best 2. use the self-checkout at ALL costs, even if the line is long

It's a gigantic chain store but I still find quite a bit of difference from store to store, and therefore a reason to review. Let's go point form to get to the meat (rear centre/right) and potatoes (far right). - Unusually friendly staff. There's a a few of them that really stick out in this location! They're so friendly that I sometimes think they're mocking me. In all reality they're just very genuinely friendly, so I take the next minute to reevaluate and correct my unnecessarily pessimistic disposition. - Shiny clean produce. This is a staple among among Safeways and a real selling feature for sure. In general, their prices are higher than many other grocery giants, but if you need mass produced produce, Safeway is a solid choice. - Huge wait times. - I've not once seen this Safeway, or really any for that matter, run at full capacity. I've seen queues with over 18 people, but there are always closed registers. For some reason I forget about it often and am kicking myself when all I need is 1 item. *Side Note* I always think it's fun when you finish purchasing your items and the cashier says "You saved $6 dollars today." Who knew?? Did you know you save money?? Huh, I must be reading my bank statement wrong because it looks like I spent well over $100. ;) See you tomorrow, Safeway.

I arrived at the gas station minutes before closing but everything was open - no sign of anyone shutting down the gas station: The machine took my credit card, I started filling up and just after the first couple of "drops" of fuel everything went dark... No idea if and what I got charged, and no compassion from staff that I was just in the process of filling up: "come back tomorrow" was the answer I got once they figured out they had interrupted me... I don't think so...

When I can't find what I'm looking for in Fruiticana, I'll walk across the street to OK Foods and 9.99 times out of 10, they have it. For example, today I stopped in at Fruiticana to pick up some Red Lentils,but they didn't have the variety I wanted. I walked across the street and sure enough, OK foods had it. The other thing I was looking for was Diwali decorations. The selection at Fruiticana was alright, but the selection at OK Foods was even better! Don't get me wrong, Fruiticana is DA BOMB, but if on the slim chance they don't have what you need, OK Foods, conveniently located right across the street, is sure to have it. I love both stores and I especially love the fact that they tend to compliment one another. Park your car and I promise you that between these two stores, all your Indian shopping needs will be taken care of. One stop, two Indian paradises... and who said the world wasn't a friendly place???

Safeway has closed my favorite store (Thorncliffe, where the employees were soooo nice and they knew me) so the next closest is Beddington. NEVER AGAIN! (and I mean never!) I realize as I write this that a corporation such as yours doesn't care if I return or not. I get that but in my opinion, Safeway/Sobeys is now on the bottom of my list. several items I purchased wouldn't even scan and due to this I needed help. (of course I did as it is not my job! I could understand if I scan my own products and do your job there was a discount, but of course there isn't!) I am ashamed of the state of your supermarkets now. Produce is a hit and miss unfortunately (they have really nice peaches right now from okanagan) but meat, fish and grocery sections are excellent. Baristas at Starbucks inside the Safeway are wonderful as well. We wanted to order honey oat latte, however honey was not available due to some stock issues at Starbucks and the wonderful barista ( her name was Anne) made it nicely with vanilla after apologizing profusely. All in all, great place to get your groceries without much fuss!

The store was bright, and shelves seemed to be stocked, and even though there were people, I didn't feel it was too busy. I picked up $1 bread, sushi from a decent selection, and a premade salad for less than $3. I also got snacks for our drive home at reasonable prices. There were two entrances, and I entered from the side with the elevator. The other side had escalators and there were a lot of people hanging out at the bottom of them. They likely have a lot of activity, as during two days we twice saw firetrucks, ambulances, and police cars but during my visits, there was no activity.

She stood extremely close to me, which made me uncomfortable. A simple "excuse me" would have been appreciated so I knew she needed access to the machine for her card tap or override. I understand staff need to assist customers and use the checkout system, but personal space should still be respected. For some people, having someone suddenly stand that close without warning can be very uncomfortable or triggering. I hope staff can be more mindful of this in the future.

I go to book barn specifically when I am wanting to buy treats Such as to decorate cupcakes to decorate cakes or to make goodie bags to hand out at parties. What is also nice bubble brand is that not everything is loose you can also buy things that are individually wrapped as well so that it is more sanitary. In terms of the loose items I specifically go here to buy both pasta in bulk as well is to buy bulk lentil such as dried chickpeas and all those dried things. You can also buy raisins and I've bought cranberries and nuts of any kind it is amazing! Even chips.
