    Packed isles!!

What a wonderful gem.. a perfectly packed little Japanese store. First time visiting today and I dropped $120 in goodies/food, some of the stuff I haven't had since childhood. The store clerk/cashier was the most wonderful and kind person I've had the pleasure of purchasing items from in well over a decade. I'm sure to be back soon, you should visit too!

My husband and I stopped by this great little store. The owner was super friendly and helpful. The prices were reasonable. It was a little tight fit. We didn't eat at the cafe but the food and drinks we bought in the grocery store was delicious. One of the cutest things I've seen was the little kids area so parents could shop without kids continually saying "can I have that?" Check out my review on Unique Finds of Florida on Facebook.

I love coming here. There is such a wide variety of Japanese products. I feel like I'm being transported back to my childhood (Hello Kitty and Doremon). Some items you can find in other stores, and some you can't. The owners are always polite and friendly.

Transported to Japan as soon as I walk in. Fresh and frozen items galore. She makes fresh bread on Saturday but you have to get there early before it sales out! We love the Mochi, Japanese Soups, mayonaise and cookies. There's what nots and sake here too. I picked up a light cheesecake. Light as air. Sweetest owners ever and I enjoy coming here. GI see what they have and enjoy your visit!

I just love this shop. It carries many cool items. Japanese owned, Japanese items. Tomoko, I believe she is the owner, is super duper friendly, so pleasant and helpful. Just her demeanor alone and being inside this shop makes me feel like I'm in Japan. I can listen to her talk all day...even if it's to the point she is cussing me out in Japanese telling me to leave because I've been there for hours. And I'm sure she'll still say it in a pleasant way. Come check out this place. It's super clean, well organized and tons of great Japanese items like Ramen, Sakes, Sweets & Snacks...and a whole lot more. Konnichiwa !!!

These were the goodies I brought back to snack for that weekend.

I was so excited finally I came to this small nice Japanese super market. I am surprised Circle Japan does have lots of good sakes, like Kubota Manju and Dasai 23 Junmai. Usually I have to special order from internet, and now I can find them here in Japan Circle, how convenient! The store has a small area for kids to watch Japanese cartoon, some toys and books. I like the idea, at least can keep kids little busy while going grocery shopping. Next to the sake display area, you can find used Japanese books. If you can read Japanese, you may have chance to find some easy comics books to have some fun, or books are pretty old fashion from various categories. I read people's comments on Yelp, many people said Circle Japan is little pricy. After went to visit, I think the price is reasonable. If you compare the Asian markets in Jacksonville, FL or Savannah, GA, there is really nothing to complain about! For me, coming here is like visiting heaven. I picked some stupid snacks only for the weekend I could enjoy some Japanese taste at home. However, next time I will have a shopping list ready when I come!

Friendly shop owner and a variety of things you won't find in your average Asian market.

Unique products that you can't find anywhere else in town. I love that there's a playing area for kids. The owner is so sweet and friendly

The huge "Anime" statues(I suppose that's what they're called-I could be wrong)are for sale. Talk to management about the prices. I loved the Hello Kitty and Picchu toilet paper. I only bought the "Hello Kitty" tissues. So cute! I bought some soup and some hand lotion and a few other items. I did find the store's prices a little high, but I am on a budget. So everything is pricey to me. So, what do I know? Not much. I could have spent the entire day there. Pros: the cool merchandise. Clean and highly organized store. Cons: the young lady at the register was slouched down at the check out desk and did not seem like she wanted to be there. I could be wrong. Maybe she had a lot on her mind. But, when I checked out she was pleasant enough. Recommend? Yes-have loads of fun!!!'

They have a good selection of grocery items that should appeal to looking for treats from Europe. The staff here was friendly enough and the market itself had a no-frills type atmosphere, but it was pleasant enough wandering through the aisles. I was also happy to see they carried products from Schmalz's, a New Jersey based sausage maker. Schmalz's makes a wonderful German style hot dog. I really am impressed with not only this European grocer, but the multiple European grocers located in Jacksonville, Florida. They have a strong emphasis on products from eastern Europe and offer a great variety of items that you will not find at your local Winn-Dixie, Publix, Walmart or other supermarkets. Overall, I will give here five stars overall and it definitely has my recommendation.

Or if you want some authentic middle eastern food; ie, gyros, shawarma, grapeleaves, etc. After a hard day of working on things, I realized I had yet to grab anything to eat. It as about 3:30pm at this point and I needed something quick, tasty, and filling. I called up K&Y and ordered a few gyros, some extra to bring home to my family. Their gyros are always super tasty and well seasoned. For a cool $6, you get sliced beef, sliced lamb, and veggies stuffed into pita bread all topped in the gyro sauce. The sandwich is stuffed to the brim and actually comes in two extremely big halves! I recommend coming here for a change of pace from the ordinary fast food. This version is much healthy. It's also a good spot to check out for ingredients for those new recipes that've been on the back burner for awhile out of fear. The staff is more than helpful with anything you might need@

As for a ready-to-eat bite, I got their chicken shawarma and gyro plate ($6.50) http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/cEL6JycrcJjRHycrG-gb7w/l. This dish included shawarma, seasoned chicken, pita, hummus, and salad. The shawarma they serve here is just top quality lean lamb and flavorful. The strips of chicken had a mildly spicy seasoning. The top strips of chicken were somewhat dry, but the ones in the middle were much more moist and tasty. The pita bread were soft warm pillows, but the fresh tasting hummus was overdosed with too much olive oil which was pooling on top. The salad was a simple ice berg lettuce and tomato salad with sliced olives and feta cheese. What disappointed me about the meal was the chicken and hummus. However, the rest of the meal was pretty good and a whole lot of meat was loaded into it. Always a plus! By the way, one could clearly see from the meats hanging and roasting in the back, that they make their food fresh. I washed my meal down with a Pakistani soda http://static.px.yelp.com/bphoto/yo-3LArbGOo3jDazFwozhg/l - Pakota, lychee flavored. Wow! I couldn't stop drinking it. Pretty good. My son ordered the gyro sandwich ($5.50), but being the picky lil man he is, he didn't finish it. K & Y Imports is in the same shopping plaza with Harbor Freight Tools at the corner of Southside Blvd. and Beach Blvd.
