It was engraved with my name, my high school and year of graduation, and it was tarnished because at the time it was given to me, I couldn't resist touching it. It wasn't something I was particularly sentimental about and my sister decided we should try to sell it to a pawn shop. We kind of forgot about it but then one day we were driving around with nothing to do and she said let's go home and get that silver and sell it today. So naturally, I did what one would do and turn to Google for help. I asked the internets where I could sell silver in Clairemont. There used to be a pawn shop nearby but they closed. So I didn't know where to go. It sent us to PMR-Precious Metals in UTC. We were surprised to find ourselves at a fancy business complex and we felt out of sorts, jankily dressed as we were, but we followed the signs to the business on the second floor. We ended up in a shared office space situation and the friendly dude at the main desk called someone from PMR to see if they could meet with us. Now, in our defense, we thought we were going to be at a pawn shop, not a rather upscale-looking metals trading company. Nevertheless, we were greeted by the very friendly and kind Zoe, who invited us into her office despite having an appointment lined up with another customer due to arrive soon. Zoe was the bomb. She looked over our rather paltry item, consulted via phone with colleagues, and ended up offering us a price for our silver. Note- engraved pieces of bullion are less valuable than non-engraved ones, so keep that in mind. However, we were pleased to accept the price she offered. She was just so kind and welcoming and we were delighted by her customer service. We rifled through her candy stash and she also offered us beverages and a lesson in the buying/selling of precious metals and gems. Well, Zoe is the true gem of PMR! Thank you for your help and customer service!! A few notes- best to make an appointment with them before you randomly show up, to avoid having to wait. We got lucky. Also, we ended up paying $6 for parking which was a bummer and came out of our silver earnings, so be sure to ask if they validate parking. We just forgot to ask. Overall, PMR is top notch and Zoe is the diamond. I'll definitely bring any jewelry to them when I'm willing to part with my heirlooms!
