Stephanie is the most life changing color specialist ever. I think she be a "hair whisper" or a "personal hair trainer"... I was a new customer.I know ur hair specialist has to get used to u and ur hair but I don't understand when hair specialist/professional ask u what u want and then simply do it with out advising u or recognizing the shape of ur face,skin tone and eyes color. I recently found Circa Salon on Yelp and gave it a try since I live right down the street and was in desperate need for a cut. The cool thing about this salon is that exclusively use Bumble and Bumble products which are amazing! The salon is open 7 days a week for appointments and also accept walk in clients. The crappy thing (which is why i knocked off 1 star) is that the reception desk is only staffed on certain days and hours making calling in to schedule an appointment just a little more difficult than I usually have the patience for. You have to call your stylist directly to schedule if the receptionist doesn't answer which really isn't that big of a deal for most people but with a 1 and 2 year old at home making a 30 second phone call isn't always the easiest task for me ; ) Anyway I had my appointment with Erin and she was amazing (as mentioned by other Yelpers as well)! she cut my hair beautifully and within a reasonable amount of time, gave me suggestions for easy ways to style at home and was just nice to talk with. Now the thing that made me a customer for life is the fact that 1 week after I had my cut I decided I wanted to make a big change and cut true bangs! I called Erin to schedule another appointment which we made for the next day. I went in, had a full wash and dry plus got my bangs (which i love) and to my surprise at the end of the service she told me it was all FREE! she didn't want to charge me since I had just had my first cut so recently. I have been coming to Circa for almost 12 years now, and even after moving from Henderson to Summerlin 4 years ago I wouldn't dream of not making the 35-45 minute bi-weekly trek for nails with Jen and 6 week trek for my hair. Kim (the owner) and her daughter Lindsay are hair goddesses and I've never had a complaint about my cut, color or style (except for when I had 6 inches cut off, but that was my own doing...Lindsay tried to talk me out of it!). And I'm telling you, if you decide at any time you want or need extensions, Lindsay is THE GIRL! She's sassy, sweet, funny and smart and best of all a perfectionist. I have people ask me all of the time how I manage to keep my long hair looking so healthy and when I tell them I have extensions they're amazed. You absolutely cannot tell I have extensions. As far as my nails go, I've been going to Jen Dent (Bozanno) for close to 10 years and she's the real deal. Also a perfectionist, she's hip and trendy and does everything from nail art, to acrylics, to gels and paint. Her prices are competitive and honestly, she'll give you a better deal for your buck than the 100 other "nail art bars" that seem to be on every other corner like Starbucks back in the day. Her work is precise and flawless, and the conversation is always fun and entertaining! The fact that all of these lovely ladies, although being independent contractors in the salon, are so close also helps keep the atmosphere in the shop upbeat. I always look forward to seeing my Kimmie, Jen and Lindz and always feel more like family than a client. Every one of them will do whatever they can to take last minute schedule demands (I'm not the best about planning ahead!) and most times will double or triple book to make sure the client (me and others) walk away happy. Come October, I finally decided that I was taking far too long to find a hairdresser in Henderson (ya think?), so I took to YELP to research salons with positive reviews, as well as finding which salons offered Bumble & Bumble products, which I love. After reading the many positive reviews here for Erin, I took a trip to the salon to meet her. I had my "hair recipe" with me from my last stylist in Michigan, and Erin promised she could match it up as she used the same brands. So, I made an appointment and saw her a few days later. She put me at ease immediately and proceeded to hook my hair up after listening to the changes I wanted to make. I'm happy (and relieved) to say that she's a keeper and I'm glad to have met her. We were in town visiting and our niece wanted to get her hair cut. She said she heard really good things about this salon. When we walked in, we had four hairdressers notice us as we walked in. Not one of them greeted us or said anything to us. Finally one with a customer turned around and asked if we had an appointment. My niece informed her she just wanted a hair cut. The lady was like, let me ask around and see if anyone is available for a haircut. You could see everyone she asked, shake their head no. She came back and let us know. I had a horrible experience here, and was so disappointed because I'd looked at all the great reviews. I made my appointment, the stylist called and pushed it back an hour, got to the salon and waited another half hour before getting in the chair. There were hair trimmings all over the floor and someone was definitely reheating a very oniony lunch just behind the shampoo station, where I sat listening to the reception staff complain about her job for the duration of my wash. The cut itself was not what I had asked for and the stylist spent more time talking with her coworkers than she did focusing on my cut. Will definitely not be going back. read more
