one of my favorite places to eat in milan. I went once during the week around lunch time and they didn't have their dessert menu, so they may only serve waffles and crepes on the weekends. you can sit outside all year around as they cover their outdoor patio and have heaters as well. the presentation is elegant with patterns of dark chocolate, red currant, and a shot of milk chocolate. the gelato is great with a little bit of chocolate at the bottom of the cone. read more

This was my favorite gelato place in Milan and we tried 4 on our trip. There's just this artistic spectacle quality this place has from the decor with chocolate fountains to the chic and fit uniforms the staff wears. Any way you can get the getato here is amazing. - Cone filled a little bit with either milk chocolate or white chocolate, then topped with scoops of gelato and a thin circular waffle crisp - Cup with scoops of gelato with the thin waffle crisp. - Or if you're sitting, I've seen people order it in a bowl with the cone filled with chocolate in the middle so you have the option of drizzling the chocolate over or drinking it like a shot. Our favorite flavors were: - Fior di Panna (fine cream) similar but richer than the Fior di Latte (milk) flavor - Yogurt, it's a great tart greek yogurt feel very similar to having Pinkberry - Pistacchio, solid and has good bits inside Also of note, we tried both the Duomo location and this location a bit further southwest from the Duomo one. The Duomo location wasn't as good - the gelato itself overall skewed too sweet and there isn't a sitting cafe area like this one does. read more

I ate gelato 6 times during my 3 days in Milan. This was our first and third stop for gelato during our time in Milan. After a whirlwind gelato tour this specific shop (they have multiple in Milan) tied with Rivareno as my favorite. I went to Milan with a friend and we just happened to be walking around and thought the space was really cute. There was an encased outdoor seating area with plush chairs that looked like a perfect spot for an afternoon coffee and snack. Even on a Wednesday, there were a ton of people enjoying some gelato and drinks on their enclosed sidewalk space. We walked in and the gelato looked fantastic; thus, we decided to give it a try! There is a small counter where you first pay for your gelato and then hand the ticket to the person working behind the gelato counter. We both decided to get a medium cone (€3, ~$4) based on what we had seen others order when we came in. After perusing the choices, I decided on pistachio and Nutella (each medium comes with your choice of two flavors). Before putting the gelato into the cone, they asked if I wanted some melted chocolate in the bottom - um, YES - and went with the white chocolate. The other option was milk chocolate, which my friend got. I thought it just might be a quick swirl of chocolate but she definitely filled the bottom of the cone with chocolate! Me and my friend agreed it was a bit too much chocolate when you got to the bottom. Anyway, back to the gelato! I was a bit disappointed with the Nutella as it wasn't technically swirled into the gelato but a big dollop of Nutella was swirled on top of their milk gelato. It felt more like a topping than an actual Nutella gelato; however, the quality of the gelato was very good. But, then the pistachio. MY GOODNESS. The rich and creamy gelato was speckled with pistachio pieces and had the slightest saltiness that was very enjoyable. We went back another night, around midnight and I, again, got the pistachio. Still as amazing as I remembered. We opted for the cup instead of the cone this time and was given a lighter drizzle of the chocolate of our choice on top of the gelato. The gelato at Cioccolati Italiani was definitely one of the highlights of our trip to Milan. The flavors were very clean and bright and you could tell the gelato was made with high quality ingredients. Definitely worth a stop! read more

I didn't realize unitl later that this is a chain. We walked around the city and ran into a couple other shops. The restaurant we stopped in had a beautiful covered outdoor area and a great vibe. You could watch through a glass window at the production area and really enjoy the overall experience of the sites, sounds, smells and then the tastes. Great coffee and delicious pastries. read more

I had read somewhere that this was a great place to get gelato in Milan so you could imagine my dismay when we walk into this particular location around 10 p.m. and there is nobody waiting in line and three people behind the counter. The woman who seemed to be a manager did not even acknowledge me or my friend for Solid 5 minutes. Eventually someone came up to us and said are we looking for ice cream and I said I'm looking for some Gelato.. after placing my order I was told to go to the cashier who then also continue to ignore me as they waited there to check out and pay. I understand that this is Milan what they don't understand is I'm from a big city as well, and frankly no one is rude where I'm from. The Gelato wasn't even worth it was actually with some of the worst gelato I had in all of Italy. Which is kind of sad because it was my first gelato in Italy. Avoid this place go somewhere else. I understand the whole philosophy of the ruder the service in Milan the better the food, not sure that actually Rings true when it comes to this place. read more

Never again unfortunately! I live nearby cioccolati italiani and it was a nice place when they first opened. Today I went with some friends for breakfast and they literally kicked us out for the "brunch" excuse. The staff is soooooo unfriendly and still their prices are VERY high compared to other places and they are unjustified. Caffe Cucchi right next to it is historically better and they are very friendly add to that the friendliness of everybody. If you guys like ice cream, cioccolati italiani has VERY limited flavors. In via cesare correnti there is the gelateria Oasis del gelato, it is just exquisite! Unfortunately it has become another tourist trap. read more

Very good gelateria, not the top, but much better than most. The gelato has excellent flavor with great ingredients, the pistachio has a particularly fabulous flavor. The texture of the gelato is too cold and hard for my taste... they have more cream so the gelato comes out denser than the gelato at Riva Reno or Chocolat. The chocolate flavor is okay, but a bit runny, Chocolat has a better chocolate. read more

This gelato establishment is centrally located near the Duomo and is one of the most popular / best gelato shops in Milan according to many sources. It did not disappoint! With your typical flavours as well as daily more experiential ones (including beef and mushroom the day we went, and they literally taste like what they claim to be), there's something for everyone. They also do not use additives in their gelato, and use organic ingredients. The portion sizes are pretty big, and the staff is extremely friendly and helpful, and found it funny when we were trying the experimental flavours. Delicious gelato! read more

oh my goodness, i've tried a lot of gelatos but this was the best i've ever tried. it tastes homemade and incredibly rich and decadent. i would go every single day if i could. there's usually a long wait but the wait is definitely worth it. i keep trying new flavors and they are all amazing. it's very creamy gelato, sort of in between a regular ice cream and a gelato. can't wait to be back soon! great milano gelato experience. read more

We stopped by for a gelato and was pleasantly surprised to find that this place had an amazing variety of tasty gelato with a variety of toppings/sauces. The staff was courteous and provided an English menu for us even though they didn't speak English. To be honest, we all ordered different combinations of gelato and toppings and everyone was quite happy. I would add this place to the short list of must visit places to visit, particularly if you are headed down to the canal for dinner. Nice. read more
