This is my neighborhood cinema and I love it. They run mostly foreign art-house and independent films here, along with some bigger production films in second-run. All of the movies except the kids films are in VO. They have really outstanding special events. I recently went to a special showing of Buster Keaton (silent) films where they brought in a real jazz band to play along with the scenes. They do lots of lectures/discussions with filmmakers and topical presentations related to films (e.g. a great line-up of films and discussions related to black history in February). They have ciné-goûters where they show a kids film and offer free snacks after (these are hugely popular for kids in the area and are packed). They also just recently opened an attached restaurant, which is unfortunately not open on Sunday (when I usually go). The theaters are small and rarely full. No need to get to regular showings early, but special events get filled up. There are no snacks available, so bring your own. Yea for independent theaters and films and for getting out in the banlieues to enjoy the culture! If you've never been to the Brooklyn of Paris (Pantin), make a day of it and enjoy everything our little city has to offer! read more
