Knowing its history made it difficult to watch The Fall Guy The facility is almost a hundred years old and it feels it. The seats are old, small, and uncomfortable. In its proper context, I'm sure it was magical in its day. It is a one time experience.

Beautiful chandeliers came down from the ceiling. Women in feathered costumes were on stage and hanging from the chandeliers. Nudity unseen in my world at that time can not be forgotten. Needless to say I've never been to a show like that again. I can see by the recent reviews the place is not the same. Shows like Cabaret and Zorro can not replicate the spirit of the original shows. I see that Yelpers are not posting or reviewing. Maybe it's a Senior Citizen crowd now. What I know: "Folies Bergère is a cabaret music hall, located at 32 rue Richer in the 9th Arrondissement, the Folies Bergère was built as an opera house by the architect Plumeret. It opened on 2 May 1869 as the Folies Trévise, with light entertainment including operettas, comic opera, popular songs, and gymnastics. But seriously people, this is Paris, and if you can't get used to climbing a few extra flights, you're just not really having any fun. I saw Sebastian Marx host Sand Van Roy and Tom Rhodes, all three of them very good. It happened to be Tom's 30th anniversary of stand-up comedy so there was a convivial yet cozy atmosphere, and homemade cake afterward. Seats were comfortable, prices are fair for the show (which btw comes with a consummation- yes!) and well basically, it's easiest just to let you know that I am going back this weekend.
