They were prompt, thorough, and completed the job efficiently. The generator and switching is great and I've avoided the nuisance of outages. The negative, to me, is that the services are expensive from all the authorized service companies. Generac basically has you over a barrel as without the services, the warranty is void. Mine was $700+ which included a new battery (185). For a task that took about an hour, I think the base rate is high. I compared another company's price and it netted out comparably.

We live in Malibu and purchased a 60-kw, whole-house Generac generator. The unit was purchased by…read moreour electrician directly from Generac, and was professionally installed. We bought an extended warranty and Generac assigned our warranty to Elite Generators. We've been working with Elite for months now on two warranty issues. Their customer service is just awful. We have found it very difficult to communicate and schedule work. The team that answers the phone will often say "we're super swamped over here, but let me check and I'll call you right back, OK?" And then they don't call back for days. We then have to follow up, and then it's the same thing all over again. Most recently, we paid a large service fee for Elite to come make a warranty repair (a sensor issue that caused the generator to not start up when the power goes out). I took week of following up and a hassle of phone calls to get the part ordered, and then again to get the work scheduled. And the repair didn't work, so I called them a week ago to let them know that the replaced sensor did not solve the issue. Again, they said "we are super busy with other jobs, we wish that you would would hire us for (expensive) regular service, but we'll see about scheduling this repair and will get back to you." It has been been a week and I hadn't hearf from them, so I called again today. What do you think they said? "we're super busy, will call you back." Sure. We have elderly people in our home, young kids, and rely on that generator for life safety issues. I recommend finding someone else for you generac generator warranty issues.
