This is a great movie theatre. The leather reclining seats provide a comfortable movie-watching experience. It is so much better watching a movie at the theatre. Their scene program is excellent. I love collecting scene points here. The service is good. There might be a slight wait for popcorn at times, but it's worth it as the popcorn is delicious especially with the addition of butter. I appreciate that they offer a wide range of movies, from Hollywood blockbusters to Bollywood - there's indeed something for everyone. We were visiting the city and came here last Tuesday to see Victoria & Abdul. We were pleasantly surprised to see the reclining seats as we've never seen those seats in the Cineplex where we live. The seats were relaxing and good for my sore back. I had to be careful not to fall asleep. Luckily the movie was interesting and kept my attention. We enjoyed the reclining seats and the movie as well. Great location and you can't go wrong with Tuesday reduced price. read more

Ohhhhh snap! Leather fully reclining seats!! For real! I've never been to a movie theatre with seats like these. Next time I'm bringing a blanket and getting super comfy. It was a bit chilly as all theatres are. The screens are smaller than other theatres but honestly who cares, with those chairs! The one kinda creepy thing is the washrooms seems downstairs in the basement - inconvenient and a bit sketch. Great downtown location. There is some pay parking outside the theatre. Prob best just to walk there if possible tho! Box office is outside on the street - it's cool and has that old fashioned vibe. Will def go again! read more

So when I visited my friend in Victoria. We choose to see the movie "Yesterday" Story about a struggling musician who gets into a freak accident with a bus when the entire world electricity goes out, only to wake up into a world where the Coca-Cola, Oasis and many others, including the world-famous band The Beatles never existed. 4 out 5 Stars for the Movie. Back to the movie theatre. Now I've been to many theatres and well it's a movie theatre nothing really to brag out... BUT!!! COME ON?! Recliner Seating? Seriously... LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE...best thing ever. This old movie theatre has just a couple screens and no IMAX. However, the movie I saw here had good sound. The seats don't have moving armrests and are the old red fabric but are comfortable. Hardly anyone was here on a weekend night and no kids so if you want a quieter movie experience this would probably work for you. Just ignore how shabby things are. read more

I am always raving about the Odeon. No crowds, not a lot of teenagers, no arcade and no million dollar concession junk food stands with unorganized lines and the owner greets you for the ticket. Oh, sure it doesn't have the plush seats and the popcorn price is equally obscene, but they have all the movies that aren't filled with the usual Hollywood mindlessness. read more

We saw Bombshell at this theatre today. We don't go to the theatre that often anymore, but do like theaters that offer recliner seating, so five stars for comfort. HOWEVER, we had to sit through 25 minutes of commercial after commercial before the movie started. Yes that did include a couple of trailers for other shows - which is acceptable. Only one word for the rest - outrageous!!! The last show we saw (a couple of weeks ago) was at another theatre (also comfy seats) and we were not subjected to that level of commercials, so it would appear this may be unique to the Odeon. As a result, we will definitely NOT go back. If this starts to be a trend in other theaters, we will stop going to theaters all together, and watch commercial free movies from our own recliners at home via Amazon Prime and others like it. read more

I'll go there from time to time because it's a convenient location for first run movies, but it's a bit lacking in customer service. Sometimes the theatre only shows 3D versions of movies even when a 2D version exists, Even if you have glasses they make you buy new ones for 3D movies. When I asked a manager why you can't just reuse glasses she told me "That's just the way it is." Prior to that there was a time when other patrons were yacking throughout a movie, so afterwards I complained that there wasn't periodic usher checks. The manager at the time leaned forward at me in a very intimidating fashion and told me I should have left the theatre to complain, insisting it would have taken a minute to do so. Now, a minute is actually a pretty big chunk of a movie that'\s only 90 minutes, and from where he was standing relative to the theatre, it probably would have taken a few minutes to get there, explain the situation, and return to the theatre. And I would have told him so, only, again, he was leaning towards me in an intimidating fashion and I was too unnerved to respond. Still, if you don't want to head out of downtown for first run movies (often requiring paying more), it's sometimes your best option by default for first run movies. read more

Although a more traditional theatre and much smaller by today's standards, this is a theatre that knows how to do it right. Much more professional than it's big brother Silvercity, the friendly staff and efficiency of service is second to none. Also the General Manager, Pierre is the best. This is a man who understands service and how to deal with problems before they happen. A friendly man and always takes the initiative to remember you. read more

Went to the afternoon showing of the latest Robert Redford movie. Had to duck out to feed the parking meter as it was only good for 90 minutes. As I was on my way out, I let the manager Pierre know that I would be plugging my meter and coming back. He kindly offered to do it for me. What a sweet heart! Now that's customer services.
