Went to see sound of freedom and weirdly enough, the A/C wasn't working. Didn't want to believe what I was seeing about the AC not working in theaters showing sound of freedom but it was close to 80 degrees in the theatre. read more

Tickets are cheap, was 16$ for two 3D movie tickets. The popcorn on the other hand is a little more expensive than other theaters, though it does come with free refills, and the seats aren't recliners. People say that it takes a long time for food or that it is too dark, but neither of these were true for my experience. read more

Finally checked out this theater to see Shazam! (overrated btw) and will be returning to see Endgame. Pros: First thing I look for in a movie theater is it's cleanliness. This place is definitely clean. Discount for mayo employees and matinee showing is nice, which are the reasons I will continue to go to this theater. Food/drinks are expensive, but that's true for all movie theaters. The seat was comfy (although they are no Dreamloungers). No complaint with the AVS. Friendly staff. Close to Costco, so I can do some post-movie grocery shopping and fill up on gas. Cons: There is only 1 set of bathroom on one side of the theater. If my movie is on the other side, I have to walk quite far. There aren't that many movie showing times, although I did not have trouble looking for a time that I wanted. There are no pre-assigned seating, meaning you have to come early for popular shows. I thought everyone was moving away from this. read more

I think this is a good theater. I go here the most often because of its proximity to my house. It is a little cheaper for ticket prices over the other two in town as well. Good popcorn. They dont go through fandango which is a bummer and no reclining seats like the other two. read more

My family and I came in to enjoy a movie after a long week last night and the experience was truly awful. We ordered tickets online came in a little early for the movie and believe we had been forgotten about. Upon entering the theater we quickly forgot we were inside and not out side. The building was FREEZING! Not only was it freezing, it was noisy! A group of young teenager were running around attempting to ask us random question and run up and down the aisles. 7pm FINALLY comes around and the screen was still dark and the room lot. An employee came in around 7:15pm to see if anyone was in the theater and we asked him when the movie was going to start and he politely responded "it should play soon". After about 40 minutes into the movie we decided that freezing our butts off was no longer worth it. We did speak to a manager but he didn't seem to interested in our concerns. read more

This theater (and their management) is a joke. I have (among other customers) posted legitimate reviews with concerns to the theater and instead of addressing them they become argumentative and delete anything they don't want to show on their Facebook page. Their theaters aren't clean, some don't have heat or AC, the list goes on and on. However, my biggest complaint is the fact that this theater's management only cares about getting good reviews any way possible (like current promotions they've had to get scores up) and acting like children when they have someone that brings issues up. The promotions are used as incentive for customers who already enjoy this theater and in no way gets the word out to those who have issues with the theater to give their honest reviews. I am sure it is to save costs, but I have never been so cold in my life during a movie. We left our winter coats on and never felt warm during the entire time. The popcorn was really good. They also didn't have warm water in the bathroom. Unfortunately, Covid is going to close a lot of theaters. Love this theater! It's the only one i go to. They have very reasonably priced tickets (also a mayo discount) and the staff is always helpful and friendly. The concession stand prices are average with every other movie theater I've been to. I recommend this theater for anyone looking to catch a film without all the extra frills that others offer. read more

The worst theater in Rochester, hands down. It was only good for the first month that it was open. Since then, they usually only have 1-3 employees working in the whole theater. Slow as hell concession stand, cold popcorn, horrible service, it's always empty, no management, nothing creative. read more

The popcorn specials are great. The tickets are not expensive. Overall a nice experience. Digital projection looks good.

Wanna see a movie for cheap? You got it. Can't bitch too much cause it's such an affordable experience. You're gonna get folded chairs, smaller rooms, a sticky floor, general concession stands. What I couldn't stand was the ventilation--- it reeked of buttered popcorn, so much that I couldn't watch the movie without a sleeve over my nose the whole time. There is nothing wrong with this movie theater, it is average in all areas and is the cheapest theater in Rochester.

Clean enough, regular rates, cold inside! Bring a coat. Seating is stadium, not extremely crowded which is nice.

A bit overpriced, but plays current films.

Its reasonably priced, clean and close to home....however, its stupid that as large as this city is and as many visitors we get, you would think they could at least attempt to beat out their competition by offering movie showings up to midnight, dring the summer anyway. read more

We moved to Rochester 4 years ago. This theater has become our favorite. It's not the most luxurious in town, but the prices are good and the staff are friendly. Concessions overpriced, but that is the case at all theaters. The refillable popcorn bucket is a good deal if you have teens who like movies and popcorn. The new signs about enforcing the "no outside food" rule are a bit much. There are no healthy options at the concession stand and the water is way overpriced, but again, that's the case at all theaters I have attended. I do love the matinee prices. read more

My favorite theater in Rochester. First, because it is the cheapest. Second, because it has the best popcorn. Comfortable stadium seating and the atmosphere is also comfortable on a hot day. It seems clean. Customer service is good. Visited this movie theater from out-of-town a couple days after Christmas. We were in town visiting family. We received very rude service from an attendant at the theater. He walked up to us during the show. In a condescending voice, he told us he would take our water bottles or we could dispose of them. I looked at him confused and said I'm sorry? He said no outside food and drink was allowed in the theater. Again, he repeated do you want me to take those for you or would you like to take them out to your car? I said they only have water in them. He said we have bottled water for sale. He again said would you like me to take those for for you or would you like to take them out to dispose of them yourself. I did not appreciate being treated the way he treated my wife and I. We brought in water to the movie as we have at every cinema we've ever been to. Combine a silly rule with extremely rude service, and I will go somewhere else next time. read more

We love this theater! We have attended movies at all three theaters here in town, and always come back to Cinemagic. Their workers are friendly and helpful, concessions is least expensive, and ticket prices make it possible to take our family of 8 to the movies on a more regular basis. We get the refillable popcorn bucket and can enjoy it at almost every movie we attend, instead of only getting it once in a great while. One of the other theaters in town went all out and put in the reclining seats. We met up with some friends at a lunch time matinee. Tickets were still $8 each, popcorn $8.50. Three measly chicken strips for $7, no chips or fries to go with them. Drinks $7. By the time we were done we had spent within $2 of what it costs to take our whole family to Cinemagic. The third theater offers some meal options, but prices for tickets are significantly more unless attending on a 'bargain' day. If you are looking for luxury, then no, Cinemagic is not your place, but if you are looking for a way to enjoy more movies throughout the year and still enjoy your time, I encourage you to visit them! read more
