I wish you could leave ZERO Stars!! Absolutely HIDEOUS experience!! Illegally charging a $200 "New patient" fee and then charging a $200 fee for services that were not performed. Then to top it off the Complete Idiots in billing did not code the bill correctly. Lied to repeatedly, put on hold, threatened by billing. 100% aggravating and a complete wast of time. I would NEVER EVER go to this overcharged full of themselves practice. I never met Dr. Hoffman, however, her receptionist and nurse practitioner have very negative attitudes. As soon as you walk in, you get looked up and down and judged before you even speak to the nasty receptionist. The nurse practitioner had no bedside manner at all. When I was afraid to have a biopsy done on my breast, and wanted to wait for the doctor, I was made to have a picture taken and then shown the door. After speaking to my primary doctor, I called the office back to give it a second chance and the nasty receptionist told me I would have to wait two weeks. Meanwhile, anytime you drive by the office there's no cars there ever. I canceled my appointment with this office and then received a confirmation of my appointment with Dr. Hoffman,. As a sidenote, I had called to try to get in earlier with the doctor or the nurse practitioner to have the biopsy done and was told that they were packed phone. Again as driving by no cars in the parking lot ever. I was also told they don't have a cancellation list to call patients if they have an opening. Nasty staff, and very unfriendly to patients. At least this one I have since called another dermatologist, got in right away and was treated with respect, kindness, and compassion. None of this is present at Hoffman, dermatology. I can reiterate what others have said in their poor reviews of Dr Cindy Hoffman and her staff. She is not a poor dermatologist per se, but she is very rigid in her approach and her administrative staff is sloppy. In my case, both doctor and staff at my last appointment neglected to tell me that I would need bloodwork in order to get my next refill. They informed me of this only once I had run out of meds, which happened one month later. Like wouldn't this have been good info to have since I had a whole month to do bloodwork? Remarkably, this office does not draw blood on site, so I had to go to an outside lab, which again was a very big hassle. I also had to call the doctor's office multiple times to get them to call in the lab order. It can be very difficult to get through to a human, so look forward to leaving multiple voicemails which the staff then says it did not receive. When my bloodwork results were faxed to the doctor, she still did not call in the refill. So I called the office yet again, left a voicemail, but got no return call, and still no refill at the pharmacy. I then called again a whole week later, receptionist again alleged she had received no message and said that she had no bloodwork. Lab in the meantime had a confirmation report that results were faxed in 12 days earlier. Plus the doctor's office is able to log in for results, but no one ever bothered. It took me ONE MONTH of this protracted hassle to get a simple refill. Of a simple antibiotic. Do you have time for all this in your life? When your time is at a premium? When finally I reached the office and read them the riot act, a new hire there hung up on me, after calling me disrespectful. PS, just in case it's not obvious, you have to respect patients and actually do your job if you expect "respectful", happy patients. I will never again go back to this doctor (Hyde Park location). The patient service is truly awful. I suggest you go someplace else if sick, unless you want to reach voicemail. read more

Front desk is super friendly. Unfortunately it was all down hill from there. I waited in the exam room for over an hour for the dr. to come in. I could hear her outside the room talking to someone who was installing TVs in a room. Joking with her staff and carrying on. I eventually poked my head out of the room and she came in and spent all of three minutes with me. Then proceeded to tell me to return in a few weeks to recheck my concerns. However, upon leaving I noticed that there was nobody even at the front desk. Awful experience! read more

I have been a patient of Dr. Hoffman for 30 years. I have had many dermatological procedures throughout the years and have found Dr. Hoffman to be a warm, caring and patient person as well as an expert in her field of Dermatology. Her staff is also excellent, I highly recommend this practice! read more

Supposedly she does laser hair removal in three treatments, I had four done and still don't have the results I wanted.

Yesterday I walked out of this Dr Hoffman's office after multi issues with her practice. Yesterdays insult was the final straw. My 14 year old daughter was seeing Dr Hoffman for acne on her face and during the course of treatment, she started getting a rash on her neck. We went back to see Dr Hoffman for this rash exactly 13 days ago and she was prescribed another medicine to treat the rash. We were charged for a standard visit and we paid our copay at this time. After 12 days using the rash medicine she proscribed, the rash on my daughters neck was getting worse and was itching a lot, so called the office and they were kind enough to get her in the same day. The office proceeded to try and charge us again for the visit and when i questioned the fee and asked to speak to Dr Hoffman about this, i was told that she wasn't in and we were seeing her Physicians assistant. I asked the receptions to please call Dr Hoffman and allow me to speak to her, to which the receptionist disappeared for 5 minutes returning with the message that Dr Hoffman said everyone pays, every time, no matter what the circumstances are. Like any hard working person who feels wrongly charged, I questioned this with dislike and asked if i could be billed as i didn't bring any money with me expecting a comp visit because we returned for the same issue that had not been resolved with her previous diagnosis. At this point I was told that my 14 year old child would not be seen today without the copay of $30. So I say Shame on this office for being like this. What has happened to our medical practices. I feel its truly shameful how this Dr took this stance for a $30 copay. Besides the fact that the visit should have been no charge due to the visit was for the same issue from two weeks prior. Additionally, we had another occurrence with this office where we called multiple times to inquire about sending a prescription to a different pharmacy and the office did not return calls after i left multiple messages at the office. Then when i finally spoke to the office manager, she tells me there were no notes in the file from the visit in question and she didn't know what the prescription was or what it was for. STAY AWAY FROM THIS OFFICE AND DR HOFFMAN, that's all i can say. read more

Dr. Hoffman has been our family dermatologist for over ten years. She's extremely knowledgeable, kind and caring. Dr. Hoffman has treated my daughters, my father and myself. Her office is professionally run and very attentive and considerate. Highly recommend :) read more
