Again, mostly for skinny bitches, lots of gear for exotic dancers like wigs and costumes. Way less shoes than they used to have. Cindy's is still a better bet for people who are in the business of turning people on for a living. They have a very limited selection of costumes for men. Boo. Same for chubby chicks. But I found 4 things that I liked and fit, so yay, not a total loss. They have a variety of novelty items for pre-wedding festivities like penis straws and ice cube trays. Their clothes, shoes, and accessories are definitely made with quality materials. They have the biggest selection of women's plus-size clothing here in Anchorage, but still not a wide enough selection for me. I always found it weird that Torrids bra sizes aren't very plus at all. DDD is the largest cup size they carry. Although they do carry band sizes up to 50. Torrid is nice, when on rare occasion, I run out of time to place an online order and need to run to the mall to find something really fast.

Nordstrom is my store of choice for bra shopping since they have the widest selection and best quality, but of course the price tag reflects that. Apparently, despite being a plus-size store, the largest cup size they carry is DDD. I asked one if the employees if maybe they had my size since I couldn't find it. And you know what she does instead of helping me find the bra like she should have done? She looks at me in disbelief and says that's no way that's my bra size. REALLY? Why would I lie about my size when I'm shopping for clothing? Just to prove her wrong I had an employee do an amateur size measuring on me, which confirmed I was in fact the size I said I was. I felt vindicated after that and decided to leave without buying anything. So now the only reason I go to this Torrid is if I place an online order since you get free shipping if you have your order shipped to a store for pickup. Here's a tip Torrid: don't accuse your customers of lying about their size and just don't harass them in general. You should be lucky you've gotten any money from me at all after that BS.

This is a good destination for well endowed women to get help with bras. They also have a nice assortment of baby clothes and hats and cute boutique-y stuff like that. They don't carry furniture or car seats or that kind of stuff, but they do have a lot of nice thoughtful baby gift items. The Clinic part of the Boutique is a great community resource because they offer lactation education and counseling and post-partum depression counseling as well. I wish this type of service had been available to me where I used to live, because I may hnursing. I know a number of struggling breastfeeding mothers who initially had a hard time nursing and were ready to quit who ended up being very successful with breastfeeding after they got help from the lactation counselor.

They also have a very small selection compared to other Walmarts nearby. If you're looking for Alaska souvenirs this isn't the best Walmart to go to. They also have a huge amount of things behind glass that you need an attendant for. Every other aisle it feels like needs an attendant. What I do like is one: the people who work here are so friendly, work hard, keep the store clean and are eager to help (mostly) I also think that this location has a nice produce selection, and foods that cater to a different demographic of shoppers. They have a wide variety of things like home decor that I don't feel like all the other stores have. This one I see cuter home decor at and they have the little couch, and bed and dining table staged areas so you can conceptualize ideas for new products. I like the setups of the aisles, and it feels very modern with good selections of trendy clothes. So with this location there's good and bad. I come here only when it's convenient but it is still a nice Walmart inside.
