We were in Nashville visiting friends and my wife and I wanted some Mexican food, so we ended up here. Not sure why I was expecting anything spectacular in Tennessee, but we were hopeful. We arrived and it looked like they were closing, but we heard a lot of noise from the back bar, and we walked there and it was fairly busy. The atmosphere was nice, the decor comfortable. The hostess approached and sat us in a booth, we were given menus and water. We perused the menu and decided to keep it simple, I had enchiladas and my wife ordered a combination, I also ordered queso dip and a tamale. Our server quickly brought chips and salsa, followed by the hot queso, and I was thrilled as both were so damn good! I was hopeful that the mains would be as good, but sadly, I was wrong. It is ok as far as TN Mexican food goes....Friendly service, fajitas, queso and taquitos are my favorite thing to get here....they forget things when we order for pick up sometimes...need to have better checks to make sure all the items are in the to go orders. I ordered takeout and expected a bill of about $17.... It was $29.xx. I ordered 2 quesadillas a la cart (supposed to be $3.99 each but were $6.99 each) and a bean dip (supposed to be $6.99, was only charged $0.50 more than expected). I did add mushrooms to the quesadillas so expected a small upcharge but instead was charged more than the expected cost of a full side of grilled mushrooms (which I did not get). Food here is a little different from traditional Mexican places. EX: Their Chili Rellenos are not deep fried, but the way they do them is pretty good. The cheese is an open faced relleno with red sauce and cheese oven fried. I also tried it with chicken and cheese, where they prepared it with melted cheese dip over a grilled relleno stuffed with diced chicken. Both actually really good, but I was surprised the first time I ordered it in expecting a deep friend rellano. Their "skinny" marg is still pretty sweet so not sure how skinny it is, but it is good. Went for late lunch on a Saturday afternoon. They were pretty busy, but we were seated right away. Let me just start by saying the chips and queso here are THE BEST in Mount Juliet! Hubs and I each ordered a different type of burrito. Me the California and hubs the Hot & Spicy. California burrito is huge! Very filling, just the guac was a little off for me. 4-stars for consistency and following the strict COVID measures. Sooo.... Cinco de Mayo isn't traditional Mexican food, but it is delicious and scratches that itch for spicy south of the border cuisine. My go to's here are the chili relleno, the California burrito and the tamales. Their tamales are awesome and even for a "chain Mexican restaurant" these tamales are pure fire. Definitely go with the chicken! Out of the three locations I've actually sat inside of, this one has to be my favorite. I love the bar area and no matter where you sit you don't feel like you're right on top of the people next to you, especially during Covid. Every other table is closed and all the waiters have masks on. If you don't feel like sitting inside, they offer to go orders and at some locations they even deliver! Me and my family were here eating dinner yesterday evening everything was fine service was fine food was okay but not long after we were there we saw some bugs on the was didn't think much of it thought it was a fly at first but then kept seeing them and it turns out to be roaches we saw a total of maybe 5/6 crawling around where we were eating including on the wall beside our table. It was Saturday November 5th 2022. We went to eat there at 9:10 PM. The website and Google said they were open until 10:30 PM. We got seated and ordered and ate. We were enjoying ourselves (it was my Boyfriend and I) it was getting to be around 9:45 PM when the owner came to our table and started rushing us to leave when we still had our cheese dip. I explained your website and Google said 10:30. He said he didn't care and that we had to get out because we were the only customers and had to leave. I left my cheese dip I payed 5 bucks for... we spent $50 in there. We weren't causing trouble, I just got off work. That was the worse experience I've had at any restaurant in a long time. read more

The server copied my debit card and then tried to go on a shopping spree. Thank God my bank stopped the transaction before it could be completed. The only bad thing is I can't prove it and this person will probably strike again. If you do eat here, use cash. As for myself, I will never eat here again. The first time we went here was a bad experience. Every restaurant is bound to have them from time to time. However, we were enticed to go again recently and had a much better experience all around. Service was much quicker, friendly, and the food & drinks were excellent, in true Cinco de Mayo fashion. All in all, we'd go here again in a pinch, or if someone specifically invited us here, but we still prefer the CDM on Nonaville Rd. Absolute, hands-down best Mexican restaurant in 20 miles. When a business advertises that they open and close at certain times they should honor that instead of diverting from the schedule in a careless lazy manner. I cannot express how unprofessional it is to close an hour before advertised and then to top it off every employee is just standing around hands in their pockets laughing in your face proudly saying "we closed an hour early". I don't even remember the taste of the food. What I do remember though is the time I came in with my high school's volleyball team. When the dude charged me $8 for some queso and a sprite, but the original receipt said like $4, I got a little confused. So i questioned the ticket and got told that if I cant afford to eat there, to just go to taco bell. "They have the same stuff for cheaper". Dude was lucky me and friend were laughing at how pathetic he looked. I think I took it a little personal, but this review is totally worth it. I've never had an experience like that with any business in my life, crazy. No joke, before that visit I always hosted my birthday dinners there. This is a fave hangout for my friends and I. I don't care for the salsa (I hate onions, and there is waaaay too much onion for me to tolerate). But the queso is yummy. We order grilled jalapeños which are AMAZING and pair deliciously with chips and queso. My favorite dish is pollo encramado. Sometimes I ask for no chicken and double the mushrooms.
